Seen this man for sixteen years. I have been dealing with anxiety and panic attack since I was 10 years old. This man put me on benzo's for anxiety and the panic attacks when I would see him he would ask me how I was doing with my anxiety. I would tell him sometimes it's worse than others. He would ask me how I was taking my medication. I told him I was taking it only as I needed it. He would say if you would take it as I prescribed then you would not be having problems with the anxiety and panic attacks. These medication's are not a cure they do not keep you from having anxiety nor do they keep you from having panic attacks. Hence the reason they are called attacks. But after arguing with this man countless times on different visits about this problem, I decided to start listening to him. He had me on 2 mg three times a day. I also had a huge red flag pop-up once when I was trying to get his prescription filled at a Walmart and they informed me they would not fill anything from Dr. Glenn Archibald. That should have spoke volumes to me really it did, but I ignored it to be honest. Three years ago now he ask a question to me that struck a cord, do you believe that Benzo's should only be given to patient's temporarily? Being a retired nurse my answer was absolutely yes he suddenly grabbed his notebook and started writing. I found myself as I have wanted to do for years, but now to his demand being winged off. So within a three month period I found myself going from 2 mg three times a day down to 2 mg twice a day that point it was time for me to see him again. Suddenly I went from 2 mg twice a day to 1 mg twice a day I knew after being on this medication for so many years, this was not a safe nor ethical decision. There was a point during the years that I was seeing him. I asked him about getting off of the benzo's, and his reply was you will be on this medication for the remainder of your life. Let me also add during this time of us discussing me coming off of the benzo's. I also tried everything known to man for anxiety. Nothing else worked except the benzo's unfortunately. Long story short, my father is on his deathbed. I am taking care of him till he passes. I am constantly going into panic attacks. I made a call to his office I was told he would not send anything for me, but he would set up for me to be canceled. At that point, I knew with this man being so uncaring, heartless, unethical in his treatment for patients that he supposedly cares so much about that I had to find somewhere else to go with someone else to see I was going through the hardest point of my life and my psychiatrist said to me basically he could not help me. I am still struggling trying to get completely away from this medication, am now down to 1 mg per day. I started this three years ago I wish I had never laid eyes on the first one. I do agree benzodiazepines should not be given to patients not even temporarily, but when you have been on those for 16 years and they are the only thing that works and if it's the only thing that works for you then it's the only thing that you can turn to and that's the big dilemma that I have found myself in unfortunately, but I have found somewhere else to go on someone else to see I used to thank God for Dr. Glenn Archibald now I wish to God I had never met him! If I continue to go with my gut instinct and do what I felt, I knew was best for me because we as the patient know our bodies better than our doctors do, but if I had only listened to my gut instinct and not to this doctor I would not be in this situation I'm in today and have been in the hell that I have been going through for the past three years so to any of you that are as much as thinking of seeing him, run do not walk, RUN! Find you someone that cares someone that is ethical someone that is trustworthy and that will listen to you and I mean honestly listen to you and will not try to force what they think you should be doing even when you find yourself knowing in your heart this is wrong. We have to keep in mind. These people are doctors. They are not God and those who put themselves in the category of having a God complex should not be practicing. read more

I've read all of these reviews and I just don't get it‼‍ I've been seeing Dr. Archibald for over 15 years and he is the ONLY DOCTOR that put me on track. I'm paranoid schizophrenia with psychosis with PTSD. Homicidal ideation and sociopath tendencies. I'm considered a THREAT to society‼ If it wasn't for this Doctor, Mr. David and Mr Rick, I wouldn't be here‼ I don't have any problems with medication being refilled or getting an appointment‼ You'll have to realize he's only 1 doctor that comes only once a week to service over a hundred patients‼ His ( Bedside manners) never disappoints me. I have Tardive dyskinesia from the Psych meds. That doesn't come from no fault of Dr. Archibald and you have to see a neurologist to treat that condition. Wish I could do a half star,better yet NO STAR AT ALL. Waited for 6 months and 2 different reschedules that they called and made to be able to get into see Dr. Archibald. I was supposed to be there at 9:15 and arrived at 9:22 but since I was 7 minutes late due to roads being closed and had to take a detour to get there and was refused to be seen and was going to be rescheduled for another 3 months. Have been extremely suicidal for the past several months due to chaotic and very stressful home life and dealing with a lot of pressure from work due to being a store manager. His staff does not care about the patients and apparently he doesn't either. All they care about is making sure he leaves by 12 because it's his half day. Literally debating on if I should go inside my house and kill myself because apparently I'm not important enough for my Therapist to even care where I am mentally either. Don't have support in my home or work life and the person that is suppose to help you through these bad mental spaces doesn't care if you decide to kill youerself either. Hooray for Grayson & Associates! You get one star from me and you can thank Dr. Yates for that because without him, all you would've gotten was the bird. My family member is a patient of Dr. Yates and things with Dr. Yates are going well so far. We have no problems or qualms with him. He's a good doc. My issue is with scheduling and Dr. Archibald's policy. You see, they don't work well together. Archibald has a policy for patients he's never seen before. He requires 2 appointments to be scheduled prior to seeing them. Okay, fine. My family member needed to see Dr. Archibald after being released from the hospital. My family member used to see Nurse Practitioner Tebo but she left Grayson & Associates. So, some or all of her patients went to Archibald who is a psychiatrist, a specialist very much needed in order to get the prescribed medication my family member needs in order to help as well as prevent my family member from self harm and/or from dying by suicide. My family member was considered a new patient to Archibald so the 2-appointment policy applied. However, every time I scheduled an appointment, it got rescheduled without notice or a phone call and it's always for the same reason: Archibald's policy. I don't know if the people in the scheduling department are incompetent and/or hate mentally ill, unstable, and disabled people but they sure don't seem to do their part in ensuring that patients successfully adhere to Archibald's policy. Whether it's the scheduling department or Archibald's policy, one of them or maybe both as a combination are the reason for the scheduling buffoonery that I've had to deal with for two months! Oh wait! There's more! While spending 2 months trying to get the Incompetent Ones over at the scheduling line to schedule 2 damn appointments, my family member ran out of refills for meds. Called the RX line and left a message containing my family member's name, birthdate, type of medications, dosage, rx number, pharmacy info, Doc's name, my name, and my number as instructed by their voicemail/IVR. A week goes by and no call. I called again and spoke with front desk ladies at Grayson & Associates. I bitched about it. They called me back the same day (oh, how nice) and informed me the refill prescriptions were sent to the pharmacy 2 days prior. I didn't know because no one ever called me to inform me. What I learned from this is that my bitching actually helped. Wow. The funny thing about this whole scheduling fiasco is that we don't have this issue with Dr. Yates. I made an appointment for my family member, attended appointment, then Dr. Yates himself sets up another appointment right after. Rinse. Repeat. I'll be looking for a different psychiatrist for my family member but will continue to see Dr. Yates. I just wanted to share this review in case there is someone out there struggling with the same or similar issue and/or are looking for a good therapist. Dr. Yates: Good. 5 stars. Dr. Archibald: Unknown. No stars. Grayson & Associates: Administration is poor. One star. After this, I might need to set an appointment with Dr. Yates for myself now. :-/ FYI: To avoid using terms like "his, her, he, she, son, daughter, a name, etcetera," I used the term "family member" to maintain privacy for, well, my family member. UPDATE: Dr. Yates recently informed us that Dr. Archibald is now enforcing a fee if you are late to an appointment. My mother developed tardive dyskinesia while under the care of this doctor. She begged for help and when she could get a call back, DAYS later, was taken off the medication, prescribed NOTHING to help with the debilitating symptoms she is having and given an appointment several weeks away. Left to go through the holidays dealing with severe, uncontrollable movements, embarrassed to leave her home. Absolutely disgusting. I hate that I even had to give one star for it to post. This has got to be the most difficult place, that I have ever had to deal with........ If you can ever get anyone to answer the darn telephone! I waited on hold for over an hour yesterday......only to be hung up on by the automated phone service they have!!!!! I don't need to sit on hold for hours.........only to be connected to voicemail...... When I call, its because I need to speak to a real live human being!!!!! That out of the way, I must say that I really was pleasantly surprised by the Doctor that I saw for my appointment! I saw Dr. Kahn and would like to continue to be a patient of his, but I can't find out, if he sees patients in Gadsden anywhere...? I wish my physician hadn't relocated to this group. I've been trying to get my prescriptions refilled for over 2 weeks. I first called the med line on the 17th and have yet to receive a call back, even though I've called the main office 3 times since then to ask for an update because stopping them abruptly has made me so sick. They just keep saying someone will call me, yet no one does. I can't talk to my physician and I can't even talk to someone in his actual office. I'm stuck with this one phone number that seems to call somewhere in Birmingham. I asked if there was a number to the actual office in Anniston and was told no. I'm very happy with my physician so I'll just have to make sure I don't let myself run out of meds again. If I were looking for a physician, I would NOT recommend this group. read more
