My family has given this place more than enough chances. We have experienced different barbers even at the old location. (Several of the received services were not qualified as precision cuts). Every time we'd walk in it was never a warm welcoming. It's as if they were bothered by our presence. Pretty insane treatment for a business. The last terrible experience was as of recently, bringing in my 9 year old son for a standard haircut, with the new guy. Immediately, upon meeting, you could smell the nicotine, as if an ashtray was coming from his mouth. It was so nauseating, I felt so bad for my son to endure that for an entire appointment. I explained to him what I wanted done with my son's hair and even showed him a picture. He said no problem and took him back to his chair. A little while later, I look up to see him, buzzing the crown of his head. Not at all what I asked for. I walked back to explain this calmly and he didn't take any accountability for it. I then noticed the hairline was incredibly high in the back which I too, explained to keep longer and square off. His response in a nutshell, He was right, I was wrong. I couldn't believe it. All the while the owner, Chrissy is working right next to him. She doesn't stop, nor step in to help, whatsoever. Remember, this is a new guy on his SECOND DAY. She just watches carelessly. The haircut was ridiculous and I expected a reduced amount, but nope $28 for a little boys botched haircut. This was the first time I didn't tip somebody for a service. I've noticed from the beginning that Chrissy, the owners bedside manners have always been unprofessional. It felt personal. Always wondering how she stayed busy if she treated all like that. Maybe it was just me? But after this appointment, her true colors were evident. I received a text two days later from Chrissy stating that we're not welcome back to her establishment. "Not a good fit", she says. Unbelievable. What kind of business shames the customer when a service isn't delivered? This speaks volumes of the true character behind this business and its operations, and I hope it helps any future considering customer. On a positive note, I'd like to add that Doug does a great job there. He's always listened and treated us well. I went 8 years in Kentucky without finding a barber I liked. Would always go back to Michigan on vacations to go to my old one. First haircut at Greasy Fingers and I was sold. Every time I see Alex it comes out exactly how I want it. Really nice employees, clean place, and they're always on time. Prices are also very reasonable for a quality barber cut. Unable to give it a real rating -- I do know that they should take down their sign that says "Walk-ins Welcome" as I have tried on 3 separate occasions to walk-in with my teenage sons, and I have been unsuccessful at having their hair cuts done each time. When I pointed this out to the staff, their statement was that walk-ins turn into future appointments for them, but, frankly, I do NOT want to walk-in, make an appointment, and have to *return* another day. I am walking-in because at that moment it is convenient for me, and their sign advertises that they can accommodate and "welcome" walk-ins. I will NOT be attempting a fourth time!! read more
