Cut…read morewas painful as the stylist rushed through the cut, missed several spots, and left me with uneven lines. This place was better in 2015 with Karen. Others just don't care. I asked for a mid-level, but you always somehow walk out with the high-rise haircut of a tyrant. The staff are in such a rush, the quality isn't always there. Prices keep rising while quality drops. The haircuts are noticeably bad. My coworkers can now identify cuts from this place. Stylist did not ask about satisfaction or let me look over the cut. She rushed me out of her chair before I could even ask.

She pays attention to detail, nice conversationist, great colors to choose from not to mention my hands and feet look & feel amazing. Plus it was no more expensive then the small walk-in places. Then it was off for a massage. It is the 3rd massage I have had with Sam. She starts out slow to put you in the zone. She softly asks if the pressure is ok. Then she moves on the the knots and tension. She now knows what I need and focus's on those areas. The soreness is gone and I feel so relaxed. Thank you both JOJO and Sam for a great day!

Apparently, their policy is to charge the full price of the haircut--$35 for my son and $50 for me--in the event of a missed appointment. After being charged full price for a misstep, I will not be going back. I'm not sure whose business decision it was to lose three repeat customers over a missed appointment, but that's what the result will be. When there are over a hundred other salons in the Fox Valley to choose from, why would I put up with that? This will be the thing I remember about Salon Aura. I hope $85 was worth that.

I go to Brooke for haircuts and highlights as well as brow waxes and lash tinting. She is awesome at all of them! She is the kind of stylist who really listens to what the client wants and doesn't try to impose her ideas on you, although if you ask for her opinion she is happy to offer it. I am super picky about my hair and she is always really sensitive to this which I appreciate. I get balyage highlights which are painted on rather than using foils and I love the way they look. They look really natural and tend to grow out much more nicely than traditional foil highlights. I love going to Brooke for eyelash tints before a beach vacation or in the summer when I don't want my mascara to sweat off. All of the services are reasonably priced and Brooke works a variety of times including nights and weekends so it's usually easy to make an appointment. Brooke, you are the best!
