This place has the best sandwiches I've had in a deli in Kansas, and really a step above everywhere else I've been except a well known Jewish deli in Nashville, and I've been all over the world. The atmosphere begs for a better view, but the sandwich was sooooo amazing, I could easily ignore the decor. If I could give it 10 stars I would. We were able to go inside and keep our distance from others while in Great Bend during this Covid19 problem. The quiche was delicious. We also had hot Chai teas that were delicious. We ordered take home cinnamon rolls and even though I ate mine on Tuesday (we were there on a Saturday morning) it was still delicious. We got to see some friends we had not seen in awhile. Great little coffee shop. Not an easy location to find but worth the trouble. On Lakin just west of main. Love the Verona sandwich and there tea is fabulous. Careful it is HOT. A large selection of sandwiches and several soups always available at lunch. Very reasonably priced. Dinner is an experience you won't forget. I just keep coming back. It's served with homemade potato chips and a pickle spear or for a healthier choice you can substitute a sliced apple in place of the chips. If you would like a 5-course dinner then you should here on Friday or Saturday eve. We usually order the Bourbon salmon, roasted potatoes and broccoli and a side salad .... Both online and on the window of this place say that this shop reopens and operates from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. Me and my coworkers sat outside of this cafe from 5:30pm to 6:15pm watching the lady inside make eye contact and ignore us, even as we knocked on the locked door we were ignored. We went here for breakfast based on our hotel's recommendation. The interior is dated, but it is clean. The staff was not friendly. However, the food and prices are worth it. The menu is surprisingly diverse. The coffee drinks were HOT. We would definitely eat here again despite the surly staff. read more

Was in the neighborhood so I stopped for a bite. They have a pretty big menu. I most likely chose the wrong thing, was not impressed with the "tuna wrap". Was a big portion, enough to share however it had no flavor. The wrap was folded where it was open on both ends so every time I tried to take a bite the insides would fall out. It tasted like pre made tuna salad out of a package. It was a fair price for the portion. If I had p return I would definitely try something else. read more

Love this place. They have a bit of everything for lunch. Great thin crust pizza, sandwiches, coffee, wine. They are open Friday and Saturday evenings for a special occasion "table cloth" dinner. On a business trip I ate about 10 meals here, mainly lunch. Every meal was great! read more

I come to Great Bend often for work and stay for a night or two. I visit this coffee shop every morning when I am here, but I have to be honest, I just don't feel like the staff is very friendly at all. I never get smiles or any type of pleasantries, and it seems if you are not a "local" or a farmer that comes daily, it's like you are insignificant. Today I think was the worst I was treated. Bought some muffins to take home to my family, asked for mayo on my sandwich, and the girl checking me out didn't even respond or acknowledge hardly anything I said. Not even a thank you for visiting, nothing. This is the last time I am coming to visit, I guess I will check out the Perk which is literally across the street from now. Coming from a small town myself you would think business from out of town would be appreciated, but you don't get that vibe or friendliness here.
