Used to see a wonderful hair stylist (Jordan) for several years. She would really pay attention to my wishes/listen to what I wanted and make suggestions to ensure the perfect result. She would even triple "check her work" and not let me leave her chair until she was satisfied with her own handiwork. :-) Always appreciated her attention to detail :-) I decided to change my basic layered style to a razor cut style at some point and of course it turned out amazing thanks to J's skills. So lucky/ happy to have her as my a stylist! About 4 mo. later I came in for a trim and found out that she had left her job to pursue a different career. Definitely a huge loss for your salon! Good for her, though. About 1 mo. ago I came in for a trim; the gal that was available (Bridget/Brigit?) trimmed about 4" since my hair was in bad shape. Then she styled it and I was very happy with the result so I gave her a generous tip. However, when I washed and styled my hair a few days later, I noticed that it seemed quite uneven: One side seemed substantially longer than the other. ?? I wear my hair in a pony, side braid or simple updo a lot, and it just wouldn't stay in place. Thought I was simply imagining things at the time ... After about 1 mo. of unsuccessfully trying to manage my hair style (resulting in an extremely unkempt appearance) I sought a "second opinion" at a different salon. Turns out there was a 3" difference from side to side (!) but that it could be fixed. Result of B's egregious mistake//lack of experience and/or attention to detail: 1. Second trim necessary 2. More $$ spent 3. About 7" lost in overall length 4. Different hair style now - NOT by choice NEVER coming back read more

Pretty much same experience as others, excessive wait times, rude staff. One person walked in and was immediately checked in and taken back. Only 2 stylists, one very slow. I waited over 2 hours. I don't recommend this business. I checked in on line before arriving and got an estimated wait time, but after arriving I was told that the actual wait times was doubled. I would have left, but I was taking my 90 yr old mom who was in a wheel chair, and it can be very difficult to get her out, so I stuck it out. I really believe they are discriminating, taking some customers not in there list. Never doing that again! So long Great Clips! read more

Wow. First, and I'm not saying this to be cruel, but the folks at the front desk were too stupid to have a conversation with. Then, name address phone number blood type age height weight yadda yadda yadda to get a haircut!!!!?? Oh hell no. Then when you walk up to the door the sign says, walk right in - welcome. After you get inside it's "If your name is not in our computer and someone else shows up who is, they will get service before you". OH, HELL, NO! Never going there again. read more

I've had a great experience with Great Clips. I like that you can check-in on the app so you don't have to wait line once you get there. You also can get a cut the day you need it. I also like that you can request the stylist of your choice by putting "for (name of stylist)" after your name when checking in. The two stylists that I have cut my hair are Jordan and Jody. I have used Great clips by Safeway for a long time, as the ladies are so friendly and I have great conversation with them, however this the first time I have been disappointed. On Wednesday 11/20 I went in and forgot to early check in and thier was only two stylist, and one who checked me in said there was an 1.5 hour wait and was very snippy, I find this ridiculous, people are not going to wait this long. I went back today Friday 11/22 and did online check in and Jaz took me to the chair and she had a scowel on her face and I tried to engage in conversation, but I felt I was taking up her time. A few minutes later someone she knew came in and they were talking about a baby, etc and the person was way to close to me, and Jaz was more interested in talking with her then the job she should have been doing. I usually tip 6.00 but only gave her 3.00 but I shouldn't have even done that much! She was rude, dis-interested in any conversation and did not smile once and did not even say thank you. Where did you all find her? It seems that there are new people and they are not very impressive, I don't think I will go back to this location, this was two strikes in a week. Perhaps the ladies need to be reminded it is the people of Helena that pay thier salaries, especially since the haircut price went up by $1.00. I really don't have that much hair! I was pleasantly surprised to receive a good haircut here. I've only been once though, so I can't speak yet to the consistency. I walked in without an appointment on a weekday afternoon (before the after-school rush) and had very little wait time. The service was quick and friendly. The hairdresser (Jordan, I think) did a good job giving me a style that fit my needs: wash-and-go, easy to maintain. Pretty great for an inexpensive haircut! I've paid much more for worse cuts elsewhere. I will go back and see how they do next time. read more

I brought my 4 children in for haircuts this morning 5/4/2019 at 10am. The stylists who provided service to us were all excellent! However, the woman sweeping the floor was rude to us repeatedly. The business was very busy so my 5 year old sat off to the side (out of the way) and I overheard her saying rude things about my child under her breathe. She then told me to get out of her way and that I couldn't stand there, when I was getting my 3 year old from the chair who had just finished getting his hair cut no Less than 30 seconds ago. She then took it upon herself to give me a loud, rude lecture in front of all the other customers about bringing my coffee in and how they don't allow that because people make messes in their lobby. I had just spent time picking up OTHER people's garbage from their waiting area while we waited for the last haircut to be finished and I found both her lecture and her demeanor to be absolutely rude and unacceptable. We will not be returning to great clips in the future and I feel it would be to their benefit for this woman to receive some additional training in customer service. read more

I cannot accurately explain how upset I am about my botched haircut. How "trim my sideburns" turns into attack my fucking beard with clippers... I will NEVER give my business to a great clips again. When a person with 5+ inches of beard comes in I don't think it's high on their priorities to shave it off unless explicitly instructed to do so... read more

My daughter wanted a haircut because she was going on a trip the next day. All she wanted was side bangs and I specifically said not to do straight bangs. We even showed her a picture. When she was done the haircut was awful. She had a straight across uneven bowl cut and we told the hairdresser to not cut the back of her head. She did exactly what we told her not to do. read more

If I could give them a "minus" review, I would! Worst haircut ever! I specifically told the woman to leave my crown long, so what did she do? She cut it so short it sticks up everywhere. When she trimmed my neck with clippers, my neck was so irritated by the time I got home, my husband had to put cortisone cream on it to get the welts to calm down. And last, but not least, when she used the clippers to trim around my ears, she actually nicked the skin at the back of my ear. I will never go there again and advise anyone else to stay away. read more
