I am a senior citizen with long, straight hair. I have had the pleasure of having my long hair trimmed by Yocelyn at Great Clips in Manville for the past two years. Yocelyn has consistently been polite and pleasant, and trimmed my hair perfectly. She even complimented me on my long hair. In the past at other locations (the overly expensive ones), when I went for a trim I'd be told that because of my age I should wear my hair short. I found that insulting. Yocelyn is lovely, thoughtful, gracious and conscientious, and does an excellent job. She trims my hair the way I want it, not the way she thinks it should be. This Great Clips location could be called Fantastic Amazing Clips, in my opinion! Last year I gave up on the fancy salon I had been going to and started coming here instead. [At the pricey salon, I had paid $120 for a haircut that my looked shockingly bad and they didn't even shampoo me, just sprayed my hair with water from a bottle!] Here at Great Clips, I pay $45 for a shampoo/cut/blow-dry, and I am happy with how my hair looks and have received compliments from my friends. This salon is always clean and bright. It has a cheerful vibe with flowers and friendly employees. The stylists are warm/welcoming but work quietly, and I deeply appreciate being spared the gossipy chatter that plagues many hair salons. You won't get the little amenities here like a complementary glass of wine or cup of coffee that the high-end salons offer. That's fine by me--I'd rather pay a third of the price for the haircut and brew my own coffee at home! read more

I have been going to Great Clips in Manville for a few years now. I really did not have too much trouble until recently. The store keeps a record in their computer system of your style and size of the clipper guard that they will use when cutting your hair. Not sure why, every time I went, I walked out with a different cut and stile. Who is complaining about it a haircut for $20.00, what the heck I really didn't care it was quick and convenient. I took a friend with me who was visiting from out of town, who just wanted a trim. The woman cutting his hair was frightened and scared to cut his hair because he just asked for a trim. We walked out. He was so unhappy because his hair looked better before the haircut. He asked me to never take him there again. Now, me not really being that big of a critic or critical about my hair. I continued to visit Great Clips in Manville. The check-in online system that they use became an issue, and it really bug the hell out of me, when I received a call back after I had Just checked in online about ten minutes earlier. They called me and wanted to know where I was and if I was coming in. I'm like, WTF needless, to say this really upset me. About every time I have gone to this store there are different people working in the store. Except for some woman chewing and cracking her gum, the whole time she's cutting hair. Very annoying and Unprofessional. Not to mention just downright rude. I went on August 18, 2024, to get my hair cut. On this visit I did not use their useless check in online system because of what happened in the past. The check-in online system is just a waste of time in my opinion. Well, I walked in and there were three people working in the store. This little old lady who barely spoke English, greeted me. I could not understand her I just made out a few words. I was asked for my phone number I was extremely uncomfortable with this woman. I asked her to verify and to make sure she had my correct information. I looked and seen that my information was right. Cut sides with #4 and trim with scissors. Well, this little old lady started cutting my hair with a #2 clipper guard which is much shorter. I stopped her. And yes, I did a full out verbal complaint. This so-called store manager stepped in and tried to correct the error. Which just made things a lot worse, Great Clips lost me as a customer. I will never go back to a Great clips store again. My advice is stay away from the Great Clips in Manville find a reputable barber shop or salon save yourself the trouble of dealing with such a poorly run business. It took me a while to realize just how crappy the Great Clips in Manville really is. Do yourself a favor don't go to this store it's not worth the aggravation. read more

My hairdresser was out for a while on personal leave. I needed a haircut really bad. I said to myself just let me run into this Great Clips. How bad could they be. Well, don't ever say that to yourself and have them do your hair. I have had some bad haircuts in the past but this was one of the worse. Maybe the girl that cut my hair was more a barber than a hairdresser. My hair was never so short and didn't even match in the back. a month or more later it's still BAD! Went to Great Clips in Manville on Friday, July 29. 19 bucks for a haircut. I guess everyone has to raise prices and get theirs right? To my surprise as I was awaiting to sit and get worked on - I'm pretty easy, I tell them I want to look like a bowling ball after - in other words I want as much hair as you can take off as possible.... I see this sign staring at me... it states : "Tips are appreciated!!! Haircut price does not include tip 3-5 dollar is suggested. Each Haircut!" So to dissect this - there is no need for anyone to ever assume your customer would think that tips are included in the price. Has any place ever included a tip in the cost??? Never as far as I've known. Also ; "3-5 dollar"?? At 20% of $19.00 - my math comes out to 3.80. They are strong-arming the customer to leave 25%. This is uncalled for, and unprofessional. I gave 3.00 against my better judgment and it was my compassionate side that perhaps this girl who cut my hair had nothing to do with that ridiculous sign. I was going to say - I would have left 6 bucks but they were good with 3. When will this stop? I can't get a cup of coffee without paid workers begging for tips. The sign may be a sign of things to come. I'm not going back for this reason. I hope someone from Great Clips in Manville reads this or whoever owns it does, and realizes this will cost customers from returning. One final note - They drew blood also on my head. read more

I wad hesitant to even write a review, it was my fault that I went there in the first place, why would I expect a decent hair cut. I went in asking for an undercut with a 1 on the side and to make it quick and simple an 8 to 10 on the top. I ended up with a military crew cut that I could have done at home in half the time. I literally expected just a little trim and when I looked on the floor afterward there was a full head of hair on the ground. She said several time, "This isnt what you asked for at all." She kept picking up trimmer guards and starting to trim and then stopping because it was the wrong sizes. Or kept on telling me the computer says I got a 4 last time with scissors on the top after I told her multiple times thats not what I wanted or how I cut it anymore. After sayimg over and over that it wasnt what I wanted, she still charged me $15, which is much more than I thought I was paying in the first place. If the cheap haircut is almost as expensive as a decent barber than why did I bother? I thought it would be a simple trim as all the layers were there from my last undercut and now I have no hair. I am new to the area and chose this salon because the wait was less than other Great Clips nearby. The reason became obvious. I asked the stylist to please wear a mask. In a most disgusted voice she said: "Oh my God, just leave." So I did. I had gone to the doctor the day before and everyone was masked. 10/08/20 Been going to Great Clips in Manville for about 2 years. Never had a problem until this last visit. There were people there that I had not seen before. They had a student in training trying to cut my hair! She didn't even know how to hold the comb and scissors correctly and another women there was instructing her. I ask the student cutting my hair if she was a licensed hairdresser and the other women answered for her, yes! I asked to see her licence and the girl told me she did not have it with her! I finally told the student to stop cutting! She messed my hair up! The women instructing her finished up my hair much shorter then I wanted to correct it! Sorry, last I hear you had to be licensed to cut hair in a salon and a license must be clearly displayed!! Never will go there again!! read more

I am regular visitor of this saloon, today its freezing weather with high wind chill, inspite I checked in online around 7 pm EST and went to the saloon and two ladies were closing the saloon. When I asked them why its closing as online the time published as 9 PM EST no response from them. Really this pissed me off and most likely I never visit this saloon as there are no best practices followed by them. At least they should put a pop up message in the website if they are closing early, so that we can avoid driving all the way in this bad weather. read more

Attitudes suck!!! Went online to sign in, live 8 blocks away, got there in 5 minutes. The app said no waiting. When the woman came out I told her I signed in online she took my temp and said they'd be with me shortly. I asked out of curiosity why I had to wait until after the woman sitting outside also waiting. Wasn't the idea of online sign in was to eliminate waiting, she copped an attitude immediately. And went inside. A woman older than I appeared and asked if this was the line we told her yes. She asked how to let them know she was there, so the woman sitting in the chair knocked on the window. Well, let me tell you if looks could kill, she stared ME in the eye and in a very curt voice told me they had to sanitize after each client. I started to say I didn't knock but the woman wanted to let her know she was there. She spoke nastily over me and by this time I told her to go fuck herself and eat shit and left. Their haircuts also are substandard. And they go three stylist like toilet paper. Last cut was so uneven and had stragglers all over my head. Have always had a hard time finding someone that was able to cut my hair the way I like without having to touch it up when I got home. Decided one day at the last minute to go to Great Clips in Manville. I was met by Rosy who was very polite and professional. She listened to how I wanted my hair cut and she cut it perfectly, beyond my expectation. She cut my hair in a timely manner with the utmost care and attention. We were basically ignored when we walked in which did not set a customer friendly tone. 3 women were working and had attitudes as if they could not be bothered. We waited about 15 minutes and no one was. In there! When she finally took my son to do a buzz cut, it took her another 15 minutes to do the cut. Now I'm not a hairdresser, but it seems to me that a buzz cut is pretty straight forward. Not exactly rocket science! And to make matters worse, his hair is all messed up. I walked out before she even started, the attitude I received from the "stylist" was just degrading. Now when I go for a hair cut I am pretty easy going, I don't really need a clean cut style I am more of the shaggy messy hair look, so if a stylist has a bit of a mess up its not that big of a deal to me. With that said I absolutely will not tolerate an attitude from anyone in the service industry. So when she asked what kind of hair cut i wanted I said well I want it shorter but I want to be able to spike it up and kinda have a messy hair do. The response I got back was " Well that doesn't tell me much, You need to tell me what you want because I am not going to re do your hair cut". That was enough for me... I simply excused myself and walked out. Considering I was the only client in at that time I thought to myself man this cant be good for the owner if he has an employee like this so I called them up and asked to speak to the manager or the owner, I was told that he would be in the next day if I wanted to talk to him. Well with an owner like this its no wonder the employees don't know how to act professional. I explained the situation and he offered me a free hair cut voucher that he would send out in the mail and I should get it that week. and I said well I don't want to go back to that location is there another one I can go, and he said yes I have a location in Warren, Well 3 weeks pass and I don't get the Voucher... So I basically said screw this I'll call up corporate ... told them now the 2 Bad experiences I had not only at the Salon but also that the owner did not go through with his part of the deal to try to make up for the experience. They send me a voucher in the mail which I received a few days later, but honestly after all that I had no desire to set foot in that place for any reason. So I gave it to my brother, he went to go use it at the Manville location to which I said that isn't a good idea . . he gets his hair cut and goes to show them the voucher for the free hair cut, So yea get this B.S They said they couldn't honor it because they didn't now what store it was for -_- ... ummm WHAT ?? its a franchise ... its good for any location its bring this into.. So needless to say he handed them the voucher said too bad and walked out, Now Typically because both my brother and I have waited tables and we both know what its like to work for tips, So we tend to be generous in that aspect, but we also will flat out not deal with this type of treatment...So who ever cut his hair did it for absolutely free and did not receive a tip because sorry but if you are trying to pull that kinda b.s. you are in the wrong industry or the wrong company. read more
