I will never be back to a great clips hair salon again. This use to be my go to place for a cheap haircut. The hairstylist was mad because my hair was a little tangled from work. She only cut from standing behind me didn't go stand at the sides to cut. As a result from this my hair cut is very uneven and I will have to spend more money to go to a salon to have them fix great clips mess up. The owner must not care about the service people receive my complaint was submitted weeks ago and I haven't heard anything from them. read more

I was looking around for a Great Clips in the Ann Arbor area and happened to come to this one since it was open later than the Stadium one. NEW FAVORITE PLACE if you're happy with cheaper places like this! Got a ladies shoulder to neck cut for $18. Emily did an amazing job listening to my various needs lol and was cracking jokes with me. Quick and quality. The rest of the staff was friendly and helpful too. Mixed COVID protocols. Most of the staff was masked (all but 1) and clients varied in mask use. I went in at 6:15 on a Thursday evening and waited maybe 5 minutes (shorter than the estimated online time). Definitely coming back to this location! read more

I LOVE GREAT CLIPS! This is my go to place to get my hair done. I can't believe I spent 20+ years paying way too much at salons. I have short hair, so I get my hair cut every 3 weeks. Being able to get a haircut, leave a tip and still not break $20 is great! Thanks to their computer system, they have incredible notes on what length I like my hair, the fact that I like it cut with a razor, etc... I take my boys to get their hair cut here, too. They like the free balloons, suckers and combs. Another reason I choose Great Clips is that I can check in online and not have to wait. Man, I love waltzing in and bypassing the line. I'll admit it! Really bad haircut for the price, which is impressive because you pay very little. Was taken care of very quickly and was very clean place and that's the only reason its not one star. My hair cut is very simple but now it looks like I have a line across the back of my head. I clearly stated my concern and she just went over it in the next clipper size up. She was not very friendly so I didn't feel comfortable pointing out what was wrong. I just paid and left. I now have to pay someone else to fix it, so their low price cost me more in the end. I would only go here again if there was no other alternative and I was in a hurry. read more

I got my hair cut here the summer before Covid. The person that cut my hair was Amy, and she did great. Now I did ask for a buzzcut, but there has been people here that has left hairs like 1 1/2 inches linger than the others, and that didnt happen with Amy. Would 100% recommend Amy. Great service. Only problem was that the clippers did tug at my hair a little, but I told her that was happening and she fixed the issue. That was the only problem I had was the clippers tugging my hair, which probably was mostly my fault. I had an outstanding experience for what I expected at an inexpensive (Read: $15 for a haircut) haircut place. It's not a salon, it's not a barber shop. We know what we're getting when we go to Great Clips. I walked in, the woman at the desk helped me get checked in while the person in the chair waited patiently, I was acknowledged and they gave me an estimate on time. There were four names in front of me and they said about 15 minutes. I was sitting a chair 15 minutes later with a stylist who confirmed what I had before and made sure it was what I wanted. She asked a few questions so we were on the same page. 15 minutes later, I was looking infinitely more aerodynamic, my handsome mane was cut down to the appropriate level and they didn't charge me twice for having such thick hair. The stylist was finishing our conversation as I was paying and I didn't feel like I was booted out. Everyone seemed like they were in good moods, they were cranking out haircuts, and we all know what we're getting when we pay $15 for a haircut. Avoid at all costs. I've been taking my boys to Great Clips for years. Other locations don't even compare to this awful experience. We checked in at 5:30 pm. At first it said we had a 55 minute wait. Ok, I get it. We had dinner during that 55 minutes. When we were done we were now at a 60-minutes wait. Really?? I'm not even sure how that's possible. So we thought we'd hit Game Stop since we felt invested in the initial hour. At 9:10 pm we walked out with hair cuts. And my biggest complaint: it smelled like poo. I mean it smelled like a giant turd was sitting in the lobby. The weather was nice so we only went in when we had to. (I didn't go in but for a minute.) Why they didn't keep the door open to the nice fresh air outside is a mystery. read more

I went in there today (3 - 22 - 2017) and my hair was absolutely mutilated. After waiting 45 minutes for a cut, I finally got seated. I asked the stylist to cut off all my split ends and do a quick trim on my hair, with a simple face frame. She proceeded to cut my hair DRY and, while doing the face frame, used scissors to cut straight across instead of using a razor at an angle. She messed up the first time, and when I asked her to correct it she got an attitude and proceeded to shear my hair. When she showed me the mirror again, I almost started crying. My hair was a mess, all different lengths, and uneven on all sides. When she saw my reaction she went to get another stylist to fix it. While she was gone, I turned to the guy and the stylist next to me and asked their opinion. The man seated next to me said one half looked like it had been buzzed off with a razor while the other was a hack-job. The stylist's eyes were HUGE but she didn't say anything. The second stylist attempted to fix it, but she didn't make it better. She didn't seem to care my hair was ruined. She even told the stylist that messed it up she did a good job! I left in tears. The man who had been next to me patted me on the back outside and tried to make me feel better because it was so awful. I went to Walmart after and the employees there commented on how terrible it was. I ran to Gemini Salon in Chelsea and asked if they could fix it. She was able to straighten it out, but there wasn't much she could do with what was left of my hair. I used to have long, beautiful hair that went past the middle of my back. Now it ends just past my shoulders. I can barely put it in a ponytail. I feel hideous and ugly. It took me over a year to get my hair that long. I can't believe a simple trim could be so disastrous. I went here bimonthly for trims but now I will never visit this establishment again. read more

Because of my business travels, I go to a lot if different Great Clips around the U.S. They're nothing fancy, but they're quick, clean, cheap, and consistent. I normally wouldn't review a place like this, but Dawn listened to what I wanted, and delivered. I highly recommend using their app to find a location and see the current wait time. Then, you can check in online and greatly reduce, or even eliminate your wait. Great job Dawn! read more

I will never take my kids to Great Clips Saline again! They do not know how to cut hair. I figured I would give them one more chance and take my son for a trim. I gave the hairdresser specific instructions to not trim the top, just trim around sides and back. She did not listen and when my son said you should ask my mom before cutting the top, the hairdresser replied I am just going to do what the notes say. A week later and I am still finding spots the hairdresser missed and touching up. Not only did she not listen to my request she also did not go by old notes they had on system and put a mysteries line all around the back of my sons head? This is worst great clips by far! Now all I can do is wait for it to grow out and take him to Briarwood to fix his hair again :( read more

Got to a meeting after the hair cut, my co-worker asked why I had all these inch long strands of hair in the back. Went to the bathroom to see that big parts of my hair in the back was 1 inch longer than the rest, horrible, No way she could have missed it. My co-worker got a scissor and helped me straighten it out. never going back again!!!! read more

Upset on how my daughters hair turned out. Didn't do what I wanted, I even stated it again during the cut to thicken the bangs. Bangs were longer than I asked. Barely can see her face frame. Layers were ok. They do fine with my son and husband. Not sure why they can't ever get my daughters hair right at this location or they other location. I had 1 lady at another location do great with her hair but she moved out of state. Now she starts school and you can't barely tell she had a cut at all, no style, just flat. Of course she has picture day coming up. I am really bummed because I thought the lady would do great since she has done my sons hair twice before since we switched to this location. But now I am just sick to my stomach upset about my daughters hair. read more

I enjoy going to great clips very much, recently when I went there an employee told me they get no raises or scheduled breaks ever or benefits. This was very surprising to me. For how much work these hair dressers do it's amazing how very little they get paid. I always try to tip as much as I can because I feel bad. The hair dresser informed me that's why they have such a high turn over rate, I did always wonder that. The owners should really be giving raises like a normal job regularly in order to keep people. I would hate to loose my hair dresser she's great. read more
