The staff here is always very nice, but at times they do seem like they're more interested in getting you through the line. I sometimes feel rushed while I'm here. The selection for used single issue comics is massive, but the selection for new releases as well as trades is always very limited, so if there is something specific you want, it's best to add it to a pull list otherwise you miss out. The prices on everything is usually pretty good, but be wary on some of the singles. It's not very often that a single is outwardly expensive compared to its market price, but every now and then you may overpay. Im a seasoned collector, but if I look at the business from the point of view as a new comic book collector, I would say that the shop could use a bit of growing. The staff, as I said, is very friendly, but they could definitely do a bit better at making conversation easier with new faces. Overall, I think if you're new to collecting, just go inside and ask questions. Be honest and say you don't know what you're doing. Several of them will be more than happy to help. Finally, I would like to see a more expansive selection of trades. When I used to go there, there was always 2-3 shelves full of trades and now it's one manga and one trades. I love manga, but there are trades I'd really rather buy from a small business instead of going to say Barnes and noble. read more

The place is good if your a Record's or Comics kind of guy, but they have some Funko pops in there, I mean they have great ones, they have a lot of exclusive ones heck I might have to come back and get more, the service is kinda chill and calm. The value for everything's pretty good. read more

A great store with a fluid, but limited, selection of products. This review is written from the perspective of a retro video game collector. Value: 5/5 - They base their prices on current market value and always try to beat the trend by at least a few cents. In addition, Manager's Specials and 20% off storewide sales are common. Selection: 3/5 - Not many games at any given time, but they are constantly bringing in new stock and rotating product. Might be worth it to visit once or twice a week. Staff: 5/5 - Always friendly and ready to have a conversation about your hobbies/collection. Unable to strike a bargain, but with their value it doesn't make a difference. Location: 3/5 - Plenty of parking. Bathrooms are under lock and key and leave something to be desired. Organization is there, but not perfect. Games are often separated and delegated to 2 or 3 different sections of the store. read more

Great Escape Records & Comics - Store exterior - Comic Books Near Me - Bowling Green, Kentucky

A must stop on any trip through Bowling Green. I frequent the Nashville locations multiple times a week, and the Bowling Green location is the same fun type of collectible treasure hunt as the other locations. Parking is easy in the big, open Kroger shopping center. This is right off the interstate too, so it's so easy to stop by. Staff here is nice as any of the GE locations. Store is always clean and has awesome stuff. read more

Great Escape, not so much. This was far better back when it was Pac Rats and a little further up the road. Now, it's just meh.

The women's bathrooms is always poorly lit. Previews are extremely loud. They don't carry half the Best Picture nominees ever, and others not until months after wide release. But this is the only theater chain in the city. read more

Staff is nice and very helpful. Record selection isn't the greatest but there are enough in stock for a digging session. They have great deals on used and new comics/graphic novels. Worth a stop if you are in town and need something to do. read more
