I went into the store limping, I told the owner that was seated behind the counter about the hole he said he would look into it. I demanded he "look into it now" otherwise he would have sat on his duff until the store closed. I pulled back rug to reveal a piece of cardboard over top of the hole that was covered by the throw rug. I am outraged and having serious discomfort due to the swelling and bruising. Sadly we were on our way to a drag racing event and now my evening has been ruined due to someone negligence in not fixing a board instead of hiding it..

The store is rather large and has several artists Whose woodwork and other crafts is featured in the store and sold for them. They have all kinds of cool and unique items in this store that vary in price depending on the artist. Some are rather high and others are fair priced. I personally walked away with two items form two different artists on my trip here. I purchased a university of louisville license plate decoration for my self and Burbon Barrel university of Kentucky coat rack for my brothers Christmas present. Overall I really enjoyed This shop. Was a fun browse and the lady working was very friendly and personable. In my visit to the Artists Barrel, I bought Kentucky hats for my Dad and Stepmother, a Kentucky hanging ornament and a bourbon scented candle for my Mom, and a pair of bourbon boxers for my Aunt. And we have never lived in KY- we have always traveled to Bowling Green specifically to buy these candles or we order them and have them shipped to us. I am not lying when I say we love these candles. We buy them for our home and for gifts a few times a year. They last a long time, the scent fills our entire home beautifully, there are plenty of scents to choose from, and they burn very clean. The jars keep, also, and you can take them back in to be reused or repurpose to use them for something else. My favorite scent is the honeysuckle. My husband loves oak moss and kudzu. The blue bayou is a favorite, also! Baja cactus is lovely. We love the different sizes that the shop offers for the candles but the mason jars and the wooden wick ones are amazing. The shop also has plenty of other things to shop for- home decor, local treats and goodies, soaps, etc. There's something for everyone! And the location is perfect (right on the historic square).
