I added my banking information to my account on the Midwest Mortgage site. I listed the information for my joint checking account (which has plenty of money for my mortgage payment). I "checked" the box for "checking" (not savings). When I made my first payment, they tried pulling it from my joint savings account which had $5 in it. It was kicked-back to them "insufficient funds". When I called Midwest Mortgage, they said it was not their problem and that I needed to talk to my credit union. I went to my credit union the same day and they could not find an issue on their end. I talked to Midwest again after "fully funding" both checking and savings to make sure there wasn't a problem. Midwest again said I need to talk to my credit union. I have been with my credit union for 5 years. I have made mortgage payments, utility bills, etc. through them without any problems. The problem is Midwest Mortgage. If I continue to have problems with them, I will find a different Mortgage lender. I will not continue to pay "late" fees for something that is not my fault.
