The people are very nice and welcoming. The pastor speaks well and is easy to follow. It is definitely a "seekers" church. They do not do a verse by verse expository teaching of the Bible. They do not address the tough issues of the day. They keep it watered down and friendly. read more

I have been going to GLC since I was invited to my great nephew's baptism 2 years ago next month and have been coming back nearly EVERY Sunday since then. I'd never seen a full dunking baptism performed before it's fascinating. I was born in Racine and baptized a Catholic. Attended Catholic grade school and high school, and was basically never taught anything about the Bible. I would like to join a "small group" Bible study so I can learn more about God and the history of religion. My husband and I had been hunting around for a church to attend. We tried several, even in different religions. But the first day we came to Great Lakes Church we BOTH felt that we belonged. I had not attended church in over 20 years and my husband much longer. But we found a place where we both know we belong. We actually look forward to each Sunday and not just having to push ourselves to go because we should. Pastor Dave takes the scripture and applies it to modern day so that we have a much better understanding of the Bible. He is such a wonderful speaker and makes it all come alive. It has made such a tremendous difference in our lives and brought us much closer together as a couple. Even our extended family has started coming and they all feel the same way...that they belong. My wife and I moved to Kenosha about 6 years ago and spent about 3 years looking for a church that us and our children were comfortable with. I still remember the day we received the first flier in the mail. We were like, yeah we need to try this out. Well GLC hasn't disappointed! We love it there and have become very active in the church. I swore I would never go to church again after being forced to go for my entire childhood, but that has now changed. I won't bore you with the details of how I landed at this place, but the staff and volunteers do a great job every Sunday of keeping things organized, fun and easy to understand. What shocked me most the first time I attended is that the church meets in a movie theater. I thought I was going to have to ask which auditorium the church met in, but soon discovered they pretty much rent out the entire place (some for kids and some for adults).
