As up north this SUCK with tech. As I drop phone off and asked me if want right away and to get next day UES of course he says part is only 1.5 or so away. And it will not be much as another person needs hers fixed to so split the cost. It was to be 140. He hits me for 180. And the bullshit is I went the next day he wasn't there with a bullshit sign. Home for day be back tomorrow.as I live a hr.plus some away. So have to go back the next day as he don't answer he dam phone 75 percent of the time. I 'purchased' an iPad and accessories from this business. By purchased, I mean I paid for it. But haven't received it. I contacted him multiple times. And even though he would message me back and say, "I will look into it and get back to you. Or the last time he contacted me, which was last June, he said my iPad and accessories were located and I would get them and something a little extra, I still have gotten NOTHING!! IT TOOK ME 19 MONTHS TO GET MY DEVICES BACK AND HE DIDNT EVEN FIX THEM OR REFUND MY MONEY- Sharing this experience so no one else makes the same mistake. I dropped my phones off and paid before service on 6/7/2017. He made it sound like he'd have it done ASAP. I finally just got them back on 1/15/2019. There was a point in time that we would text or call once a day to check on what was going on. He would always say he'd call right back. I will tell you now, he does NOT call back. There was another point, probably two or 3 months after dropping phones off, he claimed that one of them was fixed and I could come pick it up. We went to get it, but he didn't have my other phone at his store. He claimed it was "in storage" still. Took the phone home, wouldn't power on, wouldn't do a thing. So since he still had my other phone, we took it back (like idiots, looking back now). He apologized extremely (like he always does with excuse after excuse) and assured us that he would make sure he'd get me a "like new" iPhone 7, since the one I brought him was only 5 months old and had issues with the charging port. Unfortunately, all of these promises were made over the phone, so I have no way to prove he made such promises. After that, we had gone to his store to ask for the phones back, probably 5 times. It wasn't a close drive. A few times he knew ahead of time that we were coming, and would not be there. Some kind of "emergency or appointment" would come up. Other times he just wasn't at the store and neither were my phones. After we got tired of driving all the way to his store, he started telling us he would meet us. I can recall 2 times (though I'm sure there were more than that, it's been a year and half) that we sat in the Walmart parking lot waiting and waiting and waiting. Only for him to ignore our calls to text back with some excuse. After about 5 months of getting stood up, but still being as persistent as possible, he told me he would mail the phones to me. Took my address and ... nothing. Another month later, I persisted once more, he once again took my address and this time gave me a tracking number. I checked the tracking number for the next few months, it had never been sent. I kind of felt defeated and gave up there for a while. I finally got his attention again by tagging his business in a post on social media. He claimed that he never sent the phones because "he wasn't going to be nice and pay out of his pocket, when I was so rude to his mother over the phone". He also claimed to have put $800 worth of labor into the phones, but then said that when I got them back, they would be in the same condition as when I dropped them off. He repeated multiple times on my post that the phones were at his shop and I could come pick them up the next day. He also said that they both had been brought in water damaged when the iPhone 7 was not. The iPhone 6 still powered on and worked, just wasn't able to get a signal. He asked us to call before we came to pick up the phones and when we did he said we could not get them because his lawyer was "documenting everything". Finally, today, got my phones handed over, 19 months and 8 days after I paid for service and the iPhone 6 is in even worse condition (doesn't power on at all) than it was when I dropped it off. He refuses to refund my money even though he was unable to fix my iPhone 7. The other phone was nonrefundable. The list of his excuses goes on, he even admitted once that he "takes on too many clients at once", Please read all the 1 Star reviews before you go there because they are all the same. He does this to many people. And I know there are many that still haven't gotten their devices back that paid much more than I did. All I can advise, is to not stop trying. You literally have to hunt down your property from this man. If you have an iPhone, take it to Apple or a certified Apple affiliate. Tom claims to be, but after talking to Apple, found out he is NOT a certified Apple affiliate. Save yourself a headache that could potentially last years. read more

I got my iPhone 6 on a Friday and dropped it on Monday. Initially the replacement cost was too high. Instead of going through apple care I waited until the cost of the screen came down to the point that I could afford. I bought the part and tried doing my repairs. After several attempts to fix it myself it brought it to Tom Follette. His expertise is unmatched. He had phone working like new in a matter of 30 minutes. Let me start by saying I wouldn't even give a 1 but have to go leave a comment! I took my daughters tablet in to be fixed and he said it would be ready by the end of the week. Never heard anything so the next week I went in and he talked out his butt. Wasn't fixed! Week later my husband went in and he said it was fixed but at his house. He was going to call him to come get it..no call again. Week later I go in and still is at his house and he was bringing it in that day would call me. Never heard and went back no one at shop! Next day go to get it (month later) and he starts conversation "not your fault" and shows me the tablet and still broken! He finally says he just broke it! Are you kidding me! No sorry no nothing. I ask for my money back and am still out a tablet plus my 2 yr old doesn't understand why it's not fixed! Very irresponsible and poorly run business. He has a cubby box why doesn't he put items done in there and someone calls customers to say item is fixed they can come pick it up? I will never go back there! He never made any effort to apologize or make anything right! He's just a talker in my opinion and he tells other customers about other people who bring in their items. That's no one else's business! Stay clear because your item won't be fixed on time or if fixed! Plus he told me he never turned our tablet on and according to AT &T some data was used while in his possession. I would like to be leaving a excellent review for this business as I see all good praises for them which is why I chose to leave two iPads with them for repair. But after six weeks and the only thing that they accomplished was to write the repair order the day I dropped them off I a not impressed at all! Very Very disappointed! I understand the guy is busy with the school and other customers but six week and nothing at all was attempted as far as a repair, really? not even a LCD screen ordered! after all that time passed I ask for a progress report he had nothing so I asked if I owed anything he indicated that I didn't so I started to leave and the owner said so you don't want them repaired. I had an iPhone 5C that had a defective earpiece....sounded like calls were a thousand miles away. I called up (on speaker phone) and told them what was happening and they said to come in any time. I arrived the next day and Tom was extremely helpful. He repaired my phone right there on the spot!!!! Replaced the earpiece module and tested my phone in a matter of minutes. Being an electrical engineer myself, I was impressed with how quickly he had my phone disassembled, repaired, and put back together. His charge for the work was far less than what I expected and he was extremely professional in addressing my issue. If I ever have another problem with my phone or iPad I will definitely go back to him.....and I will recommend him to anyone who asks or has a problem with their equipment. My iPhone fell out of my pocket without me realizing it, and into a bucket of water (what are the chances??) It actually was in the water for seversl minutes, and I found it because it started ringing under water! I took my phone into Great Lakes iPhone Repair without much hope for its survival. Tom Follette explained what he would try and asked me to check back after the weekend so he could fully dry it out. And it worked! And it still works! I would like to warn people as to what to possibly expect when doing business with Thomas Follette, Co-Owner of Great Lakes Phone and Computer repair. I left a review on 3-2. .2016. You can Scroll down to see it. I left a message saying that I was not happy with Great Lakes and Computer repair. I STILL HAVE NOT been Refunded the Money, the $190.00 that I spent on 11-22-2016 to repair my boyfriend's phone. I have heard excuse after excuse as to why I was not refunded the money. I NEVER Got what I paid for!! I CANCELLED the order over the phone at least 2 times. Tom KNEW that I was cancelling the order. I placed the original order for the replacement glass for the phone on 11-22-2016. I paid, using my Visa Card for my boyfriend's phone. We were told that it would take about a week. About a week later, my boyfriend received a call saying that it came but there was a crack in the glass and would have to be reordered. We waited, and waited. It just never came. We were told that we could cancel the order. My money was NEVER refunded!! On Jan. 6, 2017, Tom called me and told me a very long story. He did say "I take ALL THE BLAME, I take ALL the Responsibility." He said that his accountant tried to refund it, but did it under my boyfriend's name, not mine. I could see how that could happen. He told her to do it over, using MY name. The money still did Not come through. I stopped in his business on Jan. 27. 2017, asking to be paid. His wife said that I was refunded. I told her that it Never came through. Tom then came out. again with a very long explanation. He again repeated "I take ALL the BLAME, I take all the responsibility." Yet, he HAS NOT, his wife has NOT. I am OUT the money!! When I spoke to Tom on 1-27, he told me how the Charge Card Company, the Processing part of the Charge Card Company thought that there was FRAUD going on because of the mistake made in trying to refund me. Again, he said "I take ALL the Blame, I take all the responsibility." He said that he tried to put it through using my boyfriend, Andy's name and not mine. He said that he would take "ALL the BLAME, all the responsibility" Yet, he has NOT !! The same day, Jan. 27, I went to the Credit Union, filed a DISPUTE Form. The money was returned to me on 2-10. I thought it was finally taken care of. Well, I received a call from the Charge Card division of St. Francis X. Credit union, on 3-2. They told me that he was TRYING to take it BACK OUT!! I called back about a half-hour later to find out that he TOOK IT OUT AGAIN!! He denies this. He told me that he DIDN'T get the money, the Charge card Company did. He was going to give me the 1-800 number for the Processing Dept, of the Charge Card Co. He "DIDN'T have the Number...he would call me the NEXT day with the 1-800 Number. He has YET TO PROVIDE me with the 1-800 Number of the Processing Company of the Charge Card Co!! WHY? Because it is NOT TRUE!! I took him to small claims court in the Charlevoix County Courthouse. HE NEVER SHOWED up!! He was served, just Never Showed up!! I won by Default judgement, it is up to ME to COLLECT the money!! He was told by the Court that he had one Month to contact me with his financial information. He NEVER did. I stopped in his place of business on Tuesday, May 23 to ask him if he had any INTENTION of paying me. I showed him the Court Papers. He acted shocked. He said that he knew "NOTHING about it!! " He said that he would have shown up in court. It is a fact that the Court sent him the RESULTS of the Court case, that I won by a default judgment because he Never Showed up!! On his web site there is a page that says "100% GUARANTEE of Satisfaction. It reads: " You will be CHEERFULLY REFUNDED If not satisfied! REALLY?? Be VERY CAREFUL when dealing with this business!
