The people great lakes tree hire are nothing but hacks. The city of flint hired these hacks to trim our tree on the Blvd . When I asked him what he was doing and if he had any paperwork he threatened me with his chainsaw. I called their office the rude lady told me she only had paperwork for a different address. I called the police department when they arrived all 3 police officers agreed this man destroyed this beautiful tree. While I was in the phone with the office the tree hack was in the middle of my lawn doing me off. After they all had left I called the city office and placed a formal complaint. This company came to my house and chopped down a tree that they had no right chopping down. They trespassed on my property. They left it there all weekend and didn't come back till Tuesday to remove it. They still have not removed the stump. They took out a power line and left it there. They destroyed my front yard. When I spoke to them about it they were rude. I will make sure no one uses them ever!!!! read more

I had a large tree removed in my backyard in February, 2021. It took them until June, 2021 to come back and grind the stump (after several calls). The area, after the tree was removed, was not cleaned up very well. The cable line was taken down during the removal as well as part of my link fence (which still needs to be fixed). The stump grinding also left a mess. I have a large pile of sawdust in my back yard. I paid for the full services when the tree was removed even though they had not completed the job! My mistake!! Mind you, this was not my 1st choice of tree removal companies; they were the only ones who actually followed up on the estimate that was given the year before. They were about $500 more than the company I planned to use, but due to COVID, I guess, this was my only choice at the moment and I really wanted that tree removed. read more

At this moment I am furious with this company. My neighbors are also livid. Not only did I experience extensive damage to various places in my yard, but neighbors on both sides of me have as well. Before I say anymore (good or bad) about this company I am going to give them a chance to make this right. I left a message immediately after seeing the damages and I have sent a letter via/USPS. I do hope that they will be able to handle this in a professional manner, with the understanding that this job was done unprofessionally, unacceptably and has left a customer very unhappy. I do hope that this can be resolved professionally and morally right. I will update once I see what Great Lakes Expert do to remedy this very unfortunate situation. read more

Great Lakes Tree Service came to remove a tree from my neighbor's yard today. They cut down the tree and left the tree trunk in my front yard. I stopped their truck and asked Mike to move the tree trunk because it wasn't my tree. Mike told me that a clean up crew would come by in a day or two. I asked him to move it he said "No, I'm leaving it there". I called the company to complain. Their clean up crew came an hour later. Mike even returned in his big cherry picker truck. They cleared all the debris out of my neighbors yard but left the 8 foot, 24 inch diameter tree trunk in my yard. I called again to complain and the receptionist said she couldn't do anything for me. She only answers the phone. I asked if Mike had left the tree in my yard out of spite, because I complained? She said, "I don't know". Very unprofessional. Would not recommend. read more
