    The one and only!
    Mike S.

5 Stars across the board!! I purchased out tickets kind of late so I missed being one of the 300 VIPs this time as they were sold out. I thought that would be ok due to the venue and boy was I right! More than 80 vendors made a showing. from Home brew clubs and associations to national swill brands, sans AB/InBev et al... When we arrived and parked for free we quickly got through security and it was clear many folks were already having a great time, Right to GWAR beer from Cigar City from Tampa,FL. Delicious. 7 kinds of hops and a great Pale to ruin my palate and start the adventure. With so many choices I did what any seasoned Beer Fester does and wen to the shortest lines that was from something I have not had or had not had in a while. August Schell's Sour was just about perfect right out of the gate. So was the Lemon-Lime Ale from Schilling Bridge (which I deplore because of 'Git-R-Done'). tastes can change, I can adapt. It was hot. the line for the misting fans was about as long as the lines for the good stuff. Did I mention it was hot? There was a smoking section along First base line and even though I vape now, I had to go there to puff. Man it was stinky. There were a few companies that I found the need to skip. They would be like Borgata's, Lucky Bucket, Sam Adams, Even Upstream. I have had those and only had so much room in my belly for a certain amount of brew. I filled that with many Saisons (seemed to be the most prevalent style), Jalepeno beer that beats Jaipur, Beet Sours, and Apricot Wheats. Some of my favorite flavors were a Hibiscus Saison and some really great brews from the homebrew clubs. Lincoln Lagers, 402 Railroaders, S. Omaha Brewers, Lawerence,KS Brewers Union all had great offerings under the tent. It was also really cool to run into a few Yelpers along the day and way. Dan K, Natasha, and friends who traveled from as far away as KC. It was great to meet you all and we will have to hook up next time! Next round is on me. Cheers!

I want to taste it numnum..

And there was some really awesome jelly donut wrestling. It was sticky, sweet and full of pile drives, headlocks and jelly. The donut queen pageant was also pretty great. I heard donut jokes and saw a lady dressed up as a donut do some jazzercise moves to some groovy tunes. The best donuts were from Hurts Donuts, but Hy-Vee really pulled through giving away probably a few thousand delicious donuts to attendees. Great event. I'm sure next year will be bigger/badder!

Lamar's donuts had a great showing with their complimentary donut holes, we really enjoyed the basic glazed as well as their blueberry variety. Am definitely looking forward to checking these out fresh sometime! Another cool vendor there was Pettit's pastry which had a collection about ~15-20 different types of gourmet donuts that was vaguely reminiscent of some of the donut trucks you might find in Soho NYC, we also opted for their blueberry donut and weren't disappointed at all. I think overall the event was pretty cool but would like to see more showings from other stores in the Omaha area hopefully next year! Great idea and looking forward to seeing this event expand, possibly an outdoor venue would have been more appealing!

This was the 11th annual Extreme and I am not sure if it is just me or what, but I didn't find it that amazing this time. My current favorite brewery, Madhouse, was there with the sours that I love, but now I can get them at HyVee. Not really a mind blowing chance to snag the hard to finds. Lucky Bucket had their Oud Bruin and that is the only beer that I like from them. There were a few new names and some great beers this year and I had a good time. It is important to note that you should have a buddy system here because you may find yourself wandering aimlessly for a little bit.

Over 50 breweries come here to represent their beers. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, come to try those beers. It's a great event, and I come for the variety. The real benefit of VIP tickets comes for those who want some time to explore the space before the crowds grow large. Of course, if you're a collector is a VIP glass is unique. Sadly, the VIP room beers are typically good but nothing hugely rare. They're almost always findable later. So if that's what you're worried about, don't be. The amazing beers are reserved for the time releases. This mean you don't miss any beers by getting the general admission tickets.

My family and I love going to the movies, and we have opted for the season pass at times because of how often we come here. The ambiance is very comfortable, lush, and reminds me of old school movie theaters. Each set of seats has a table (and a purse hook, which I love) to give you a true dining experience while watching your favorite films. The Alamo consistently does movie series, and will show reruns or specials, one of my favorites being the Max Fleischer series featuring Betty Boop shorts. I love the opportunity to see older movies in theaters, and the Alamo does an amazing job of making the experience all-encompassing. I have been to one of their special brunch showings of White Christmas, for which they had a fun themed menu. It was truly the most fun and festive movie showing, and I would highly recommend getting the Alamo app to see what is showing in the future. Some movies are better on the big screen, and the Alamo consistently delivers. The menu is also great and I have always enjoyed everything I eat from here. I always try a burger and a new mixed drink, but their loaded fries are A+ and I would advise ordering them! The staff is incredibly kind, and very speedy. In the rare instance that my order has been forgotten, they have been very prompt in correcting the mistake. As someone who is tired of attending movies just to hear chatting and snickering, which I have had to deal with at other Omaha theaters, the Alamo has a strict no-phone, no-talk, no arriving late policy, which I personally feel makes the experience even better. They truly value the customer experience, and I will continue to come here time and time again.

And FORCING a minimum tip is a move, for sure. I tip well as it is but there is something gross about forcing people to pay a minimum of 18%.
