The Heartwood Preserve is vast and open, so it was very conducive to an event like this. There were dozens of food trucks and beers/drinks to try. And all of that is included in your ticket. The General Admission ticket is only about $75 and that is definitely worth it in my opinion, getting to try that many different breweries, food trucks, and restaurants. I was lucky enough to be in the VIP area, with the more "high end" vendors. (I actually saw Omaha Yelp CM Meg in there, love it!) The higher end options were Aperol Spritz, Laka Lono, Via Farina, Mahogany, and Maven Bar. Everything we had in there was excellent (the full meal basically from Mahogany?! Yum!) There were standing tables around in the VIP area, but they got snatched up pretty quick. The rest of the picnic tables and lounge areas were reserved by companies. I only mention this, because if you're an individual buying the VIP ticket, don't be thinking you can actually sit down anywhere. We were pretty fine with that, because once we were done having the VIP drinks and food, we definitely wanted to get out into the open area with the majority of the trucks and stands! You get a cute silver Brew HaHa cup when you enter, and this is what you use the whole time to get your samples of all the drinks. In that cup you also get two wooden tokens, to vote for your favorite brew, and I think they win an award. If you're not a big drinker, or you don't drink at all - they offer a Designated Driver ticket, so you can enjoy all the food at least. There are NA options/mocktails around too, that the DD ticket includes. I think that's for sure worth it just for all the food you get to try. Best of all, Brew Haha is actually a fundraiser and it benefits Habitat for Humanity, which I love. I'm not sure if the VIP area is worth the cost (double the price of GA) - but if it benefits Habitat, then maybe I'm ok with that. I definitely recommend checking out Brew HaHa at least once, to get the vibe of it and try so many awesome food and drink vendors!

Had a great band playing with more than 65 vendors from a variety of restaurants and breweries across several states. There were also 4-5 food trucks participating. One ticket got you access to everything and everyone received a Brew HaHa inscribed glass to carry around and try the different samples. A really great event.

I also love that they bring in brewers from all over, so there's always something new to sample. My one suggestion would be to add more tents or shaded areas. The last few years have been extremely hot, and there hasn't been much shade available throughout the festival. That being said, if you come prepared for a hot day and stay hydrated, it's still a really fun event. Overall, it's one of our favorite local festivals, and we'll definitely be back next year!

Ploughshare Brewing out of Lincoln took home the cup this year, with a Red IPA made in part with Nebraska Grown Hops (as were all the entries). Scriptown's ale was always very interesting, as it was made entirely of local hops and barley. Almost tasted like champagne! Great event supporting local hops farmers and the greater beer community at large.

Getting in was easy due to having a digital ticket on my handy phone. In a similar set up to last year, NBC was the first table to wet my palate. A very earthy Yakima based multi grain brew. Many established breweries did not show. No Kinkaider, Brickway, or Bolo. A few surprises did get mu attention. Namely Boiler from Lincoln and First State. The usual suspects of IPA were abundant, but I really liked the Rye PA. Even the Black Pilsner from Scratchtown that took the cup. I ran into many Yelpers this year, so a shout out to them. ****2016**** This is…read morecertainly not my first foray into the great world that is Craft Beer. This staple of my year makes the journey to Stinson Park like a Hajj to to Mecca for me. This year it was a bit sparse in terms of brewers. I did not see Blind Tiger, for instance, but Defiance was there. The Friday evening setup was really just OK. I even left a bit early. I handed out a bunch of swag and everybody I talked to was in good spirits. Friday has the Homebrew Expo and that is always solid. Saturday always has the VIP access and some one off specials for them. See you there!

I loved the idea of the scavenger hunt for "vendors" that were for more services around the area, I got to learn about some really cool businesses that I didn't really know about before. I love markets like this where you get a wide variety of vendors. I saw some favorites from other markets I've been to and discovered some new ones as well! My only recommendation would be some additional seating by the food trucks and other food areas as there were only really standing tables and some seating, but with how hot it was the extra seating even in the sun would have been amazing. A lot of people were inside millwork commons for the ac and sitting even on the floor just for a place to sit.

There has been a single large tent for shade, although last summer there were 2 and it really helped. It can be HOT, but of course, there is then a need to drink a little more beer. Beer! I remember 2 vendors, plus the indoor bars are also open and 2 years ago we went in for some food and out of the weather. It is difficult to say how many types of beer is available as they change. Insides have numerous varieties. I bought a stein and you are welcome to bring it back each year, of course, you have to remember it, mine was on the kitchen counter at home. Music polka, of course. Two different bands played with an hours intermission with the takedown and set up as the change. Yes, it can be loud. Lots of laughing and dancing, some singing if you know the words is strongly encouraged. COST? There was no cost to enter with food and drinks paid for with tickets sold as you enter. The emphasis is on having a good time. With us, it has succeeded. Caution....WATCH THE WEATHER. the sun can be hot, the wind will blow and storms are always a possiblity.
