If you are a cinephile and want to enjoy movies, new or old, with others who love movies, the Alamo is the place for you. My family and I love going to the movies, and we have opted for the season pass at times because of how often we come here. The ambiance is very comfortable, lush, and reminds me of old school movie theaters. Each set of seats has a table (and a purse hook, which I love) to give you a true dining experience while watching your favorite films. The Alamo consistently does movie series, and will show reruns or specials, one of my favorites being the Max Fleischer series featuring Betty Boop shorts. I love the opportunity to see older movies in theaters, and the Alamo does an amazing job of making the experience all-encompassing. I have been to one of their special brunch showings of White Christmas, for which they had a fun themed menu. It was truly the most fun and festive movie showing, and I would highly recommend getting the Alamo app to see what is showing in the future. Some movies are better on the big screen, and the Alamo consistently delivers. The menu is also great and I have always enjoyed everything I eat from here. I always try a burger and a new mixed drink, but their loaded fries are A+ and I would advise ordering them! The staff is incredibly kind, and very speedy. In the rare instance that my order has been forgotten, they have been very prompt in correcting the mistake. As someone who is tired of attending movies just to hear chatting and snickering, which I have had to deal with at other Omaha theaters, the Alamo has a strict no-phone, no-talk, no arriving late policy, which I personally feel makes the experience even better. I used to love going here to get off my phone. As of March 2026, though, they've FORCED QR CODE ORDERING! If I wanted to overpay for popcorn to sit in a theater with people using flashlights and scrolling on their phones, I'd go to the AMC. That way I could talk to a human to get my popcorn and sneak in my own sandwich without paying an ***18% GRATUITY FOR NO HUMAN INTERACTION***! I hope they reverse this change, but until then I guess I'll mourn the death of the last good theater in this town. EDIT: I see the manager is commenting on the 1 star reviews asking how they can make this better- I will save you the effort, I know this is a corporate decision to onboard AI-moderated surge pricing & justify staff layoffs. I hate to give bad review to a place that has been pretty much a home away from home for me since they first opened, but these recent developments are just not it. The Alamo Drafthouse used to be the place where you could trust that people wouldn't spend the entire movie talking or being on their phones, because it was a core tenet of the place that you would get kicked out for talking or texting etc. All you had to do was raise a card, "and a manager will take care of it." In my experience, this policy really hasn't been enforced much over the last few years, but as of this month, they have confirmed that they no longer care at all. As of now, you have to use your phone to order food or report talking/phone use. The ordering cards are no longer an option, there are no menus at each seat, only a QR code,and all throughout the movie, if you need anything, you're going to have to get your phone out. And once you do, good luck even getting the site to actually load. They have a really hilarious new announcement at the beginning of every movie about how they understand the irony of asking people not to use their phones (except to order), "just don't be a jerk about it." This new mobile-only experience is completely hostile to their customers, and has removed the human element that was a big part of what originally made the Alamo Drafthouse special. B&B theaters offers auditoriums with playgrounds in them, so kids can run around play during the movie. Sadly, a sold out screening at one of those is likely a less distracting movie-going experience than our last several visits to the drafthouse since the changes were put in place. read more

I have been a patron of Alamo Drafthouse since the year they opened. I love going to the theatre, the staff was also great and the food quality was high while price was on par with other theatres. On a few occasions over the years, I had a problem and it was either solved at the theatre or you could email them and they would take care of you. However, the last year has been different. WAY different! The condition of the theatre itself is showing age and not being fixed. The bathrooms are in disrepair and not checked very often. Within the past year, they instituted an 18% gratuity. I usually tip 20% anyway so that didn't bother me, but service didnt improve. The last time I went, mobile ordering was available so my daughter and I ordered drinks and popcorn - the order was submitted around 7:05 for a 7:15 show. The drinks came a few minutes later, but the popcorn did not. At around 7:30, I asked my daughter if she thought I should follow up or wait, she mentioned that a few other people got popcorn so maybe they had to make a new batch, so I waited about 10 minutes before putting a note on an order card if somebody could check on it. That order card sat in the tray until exactly 8:07 (nearly 25 minutes) and we finally received our popcorn at 8:15, over an hour after it was ordered. Of course, part of the reason you order a bottomless popcorn is that you can enjoy it for the length of the show and get a refill but that option was really not needed when it came so length. I saw many runners bringing food to tables but neglecting order cards that were up ... they used to take them but not sure if this is a change, but if it is, it's not for the better. Prior to last call, I put another order card up politely asking if they could check with the manager to see if they could refund the popcorn since it came so late and we weren't really able to enjoy it for it's full value. The person who came by with the last call postcard read the note, shook her head, and then continued down the row. I never got an answer to the question. The movie ended, nobody brought receipts or bills to anybody (that I saw). I figured no big deal, I will ask the person who is usually at the door. Nobody there! I was now kind of upset that there was literally no customer service for 90% of the time I was there. I did not see anybody in the hallway and opted not to approach the person at the front counter at that time. However, Alamo has always prided itself on the service experience but that service was sorely lacking on our last visit. I emailed them twice for resolution and never even got a response. My last visit for a movie was to a different theatre and if you used to go here years ago, it's not the same anymore. read more

Bring a flashlight or an extra phone to light up the QR code for food and drink orders. My phone's camera could not read the QR code in the dark. Some genius executive in his high tower thought this one up! To their corporate office that made all the horrible decisions! I do hope your business goes out of business. First, their staff is as good as they possibly can be considering their corporate policy is the worst kinda of a$$...second, forcing people to use their phones to order in a dine-in movie establishment that still encourages people not to use their phones is the opposite of good service...in FACT, in order to fix discrepancies with the order now, you have to leave the theater to go speak with someone who (in an understaffed restaurant/business establishment is actually hard to come by), THIRD, having to leave to fix errors to orders do to corporate understaffing of a restaurant and poor allocation of resources causes your guests to (YOU GUESSED IT!), MISS the entertainment that they actually PAID for! FOURTH, adding an 18% service fee for *explicative for poop* service (at no fault to the staff who can barely stay afloat) is just ridiculous when we have to miss the movie and still pay overpriced food prices for literal garbage! FIFTH, the food has been reduced in quality to the point that it is barely palatable, much less synonymous with "cuisine"...the new "food" (the food in question, chips and queso and a turkey avocado melt wrap) tasted like stale reheated Kraft cheese that someone decided to "garnish" with freeze dried shallots, dare I say I get better queso from Taco Bell and that is a monstrosity in itself! But on top of AAAALLLL that, as an avid fan of the OLD Alamo Drafthouse, they seem to have lost every bit of the spirit that made it Alamo Drafthouse, the cheese missing it's signature spice, it's cilantro, all the signature ingredients that made this place feel like (regardless of location) you were in the beating heart of Texas (specifically that good Tex-mex vibe)...and the avocado melt wrap...yeah I didn't even get that, they brought me someone else's Caesar salad wrap, so I just sent that back because not only did I get my garbage "cheese sauce" and stale chips, I got it a second time, only this time did it have jalapeños, as originally ordered. By the time I finished handling all this, BY LEAVING THE THEATER, I'd missed over 20 minutes of my movie...and I just packed it in and left. If I could award this new "Alamo Drafthouse" 0 stars I would, but this all because of their corporate office who cares more about making a buck instead of honoring the legacy and tradition of this once fine establishment. We've been going to Alamo for over 18 years, but this La Vista location has been very hit or miss. We visit weekly with the season pass, and there are frequent issues with incorrect orders, missing food, and billing errors--especially with the new mobile ordering system. We were even double charged once and never received a response after reaching out. If you go, make sure to double-check your bill and address any issues at the front desk right away. That said, the food is actually great and when everything runs smoothly, it's a decent experience, given the limited theaters in the area. read more

Forgot my ticket at home. Long line, and I am mortified. Adam and his new employee could not have been more kind or efficient in getting this situation resolved. Theatre was clean, food was great, food service outstanding, theatre was quiet and perfectly lighted. Yes, you have to use your phone to order, but the background on your phone is dark, it is not too hard to keep from bothering other patrons. It helps if you do a tiny bit of homework and order B4 the show starts. Overall, yes, the prices have gone up, but so has everything else. I used to love this theater, but unfortunately that's no longer the case. This visit was incredibly frustrating. I missed a large portion of the movie just trying to navigate the mobile ordering system. It took nearly the entire movie to receive simple refills--they didn't arrive until the last 10 minutes. The food was also disappointing. The popcorn didn't taste the same as it used to, and the loaded fries took a long time to come out and were cold when they finally arrived, as if they had been sitting before being delivered. They also came out without a fork. When my husband went to find one, he was told they had run out. While the fries were removed from our bill after I requested it, we still spent over $200 for our family to see a movie, and I missed so much of it dealing with these issues. Also to make matters worse, I was charged an 18% mandatory service fee plus an additional 3%, totaling 21% on top of the food cost--for service that was extremely disappointing & no human interaction. The Alamo is a cool spot. They have amazing food with servers that will bring it to you. Amazing shakes, never ending popcorn, so many good food options, and beverages from the bar to the soda fountain. It's cool that they value people being quiet so that you can watch the movie uninterrupted and will enforce that you must be quiet or leave. A small table for your food and drink with a lighted area underneath so you can see the menu and a hook to hold your purse below. The only weird thing is that the table is so high it cuts into the screen when all your food or drinks are on top. I'm usually looking through the drinks to see the movie. We ate at Liquid Sunshine taproom Bar inside the theater complex. They have a small menu, but I think you can find something for everyone. Our server was very attentive and quick. He knew we were going to watch a movie soon. We were told we could order from the same menu inside the theater as well. I ordered the Alamo salad bowl with GUINOA , sweet potatoes-were cold-not what I expected, but it worked! Also black beans, tomatoes, cuks, & avocado slices. The Serrano lime dressing, and toasted pecans made it all come together nicely!! Inside the theater, we went to was small, comfortable chairs do not recline, but rock back-and-forth a bit. Sound system is great. I would come back to watch a movie again here. They have cute holiday decor in their lobby and friendly staff service. read more

We saw no less then 4 people bring us items and each interaction was less then 30 secs. Just disappointing. Food quality is just ok. Its mid at best. Alamo used to be the place to go. It was a nice experience, good food and a comfortable seat. Went this weekend, it has gone so far downhill. They have started QR codes for ordering and help. Great if you can navigate your phone (thinking of those who don't have a smart phone or unsure how to use one - yes they do exisit). The food quality is so far from what it was. I had mozarella sticks. Shouldn't be hard to mess up but it was! The texture was horrible. Not enough marinara sauce and WAY overpriced for what we got. No option to request a refill on my drink. Food aside, the theater was still dirty when we sat. Popcorn on the floor from earlier and a sticky table. Bathrooms were gross too. This is not a server issue, they were doing their best and apologized for things taking longer. Automatically adding 18% tip when we don't get much service beyond dropping off food is absolutely not necessary though. I don't go to the movies too often anymore, it's gotten way too expensive and there hasn't been much I've wanted to see anyway. Not sure I'm in any kind of hurry to return to Alamo though. read more

This place is a shell of what it used to be. I used to really enjoy this place. Over the weekend I went for the first time in years and it wasn't even recognizable. Went to see Devil Wears Prada 2. The theater (and bathroom) was clean and the volume was great. I didn't need ear plugs. The rest was CRAP! You scan when you get to your seats. Whatever. You also scan a QR code to order. No more menu. You order via your phone and there is a fee to order. No more waiter or waitress to take your order or do a last call. My mom, who ordered for us, told me on the way home that during the movie she got a text saying if she doesn't decline they will add an automatic 5 dollar tip. She had no idea til it was too late. First, we're watching a movie. Why would she be checking her phone? Second, no one did anything for a tip. Someone just brought us water (with the thinnest slice of lime I've ever seen) and we started to think we weren't going to get our churro popcorn because the movie was almost half way over before we got it. We ordered it before the movie started. Since we got the popcorn so late we had quite a bit leftover but since there was no last call we couldn't get a box. After the movie we found someone and they asked if we wanted fresh popcorn. We had like half a bowl of churro popcorn and this kid gave us a thin box of regular popcorn. If I was the one who paid for the popcorn I would not have left without what I paid for but you know, wasn't going to argue with mom about popcorn. For a movie theater that you can eat real food in?! yes please! The food quality can be improved upon, but not bad for a theater! I got their seasonal special (with the release of Wicked), chicken wrap. It was not very flavorful and I struggled to finish it, but the fries that came with them are crispy and fresh - cooked to perfection. My husband got a cobb salad, and he said it wasn't anything too special and a little bland. Service: Overall very good, waiters took our orders right when we sat down and got our food quickly. When you needed anything during the movie, just pop up the card and they will take the order very fast. Pre-purchased tickets for Christmas Eve and show was canceled. They do not automatically refund your money, you have to call and ask for the refund. There is nothing that indicated that in the cancellation email. It just said if I had questions to call. I *enjoy* movies, but he LOVES them. Not just big blockbusters (he likes those too) and not just art films (again, he likes those too) - but ALL MOVIES. And let me tell you, the Alamo is a place for movie people, BY movie people - and it shows. Alamo cares about entertaining their audience so they do show the big movies of the day. But where they really shine is that they care about promoting classic film appreciation with their retrospective showings, featuring some great movies that many may have never known about or seen. Aside from the schmaltzy film-loving stuff (which I adore, bring on the schmaltz ), they also have a ton of fun stuff to do for movie lovers that isn't just "watch the movie" only - including the lobby, which is the Star Wars Death Star and Emperor's Throne! Their biggest movie-event style (outside of special showings/movies themselves) is movie parties. These include props to play along with different scenes of the movie, contests at the beginning of the movie party sometimes, and most movie parties will have a special themed drink or a food menu, specific for that movie/event. The movie parties are also sometimes "quote-a-longs" where the audience can quote along with a classic film. They really go all out for these parties and make it super enjoyable Oh, and how could I forget, they also do special engagement events where someone from the movie itself will come in and do a Q&A with the audience before/after watching their film. Those do sell out quick in my experience, so if you see one that excites you, don't wait to snag a ticket! Another fun thing Alamo does is themed marathons, showing a mystery assortment of a certain actor, director, or genre. These also will usually have a special menu that goes along with them, and you are there basically for a whole day, so you WILL eat most of that menu And lastly, their normal every-day menu is great too. My favorites are the baked pretzel, the pickle fries, the vegan cauliflower basket, and the pepperoni pizza. They also will have a "special features" section of the menu sometimes with a few added items for a season, and it will change out every once in a while to a new special features menu. So there's a ton to choose from, which is nice. As a side note, I have seen a few reviews with folks complaining about the no talking/no phones policy, but why do you want to go to a theater and chit chat with your friends and look at your phone? Stay home and do that - it's way cheaper, and you're not bothering strangers with your personal conversations/social media scrolling. Like I said earlier, this place is for movie-lovers. If you want to go to a movie in a nice theater atmosphere with comfy seats, no distractions, and have great food and drinks too - The Alamo Drafthouse is for you! read more

I will definitely give this place another chance but my first visit had quite the mix-up. Went to see Die Hard, got there early as instructed and ordered bottomless popcorn and drinks. Maybe 45 min into the movie we filled out our paper with a request for more popcorn and a few more drinks and food. Someone grabbed the paper promptly. Over 30 minutes went by and nothing. Eventually my bf flagged down the server and she said she didn't have our request, apparently the runner did not give it to her. So not only was there not time to order anything else but we paid for bottomless popcorn and didn't get any refills. Our room was not crowded but perhaps she was also serving the other packed room. Had a great time otherwise and enjoyed our drinks. I hope next time goes more smoothly. read more

Went this weekend to the Elf Movie Party and my whole family loved everything about this experience! They had fun props (elf hats, jingle bells, scratch and sniff stickers, fake snow balls)... they did a fun game before the movie. It was fabulous. The theater itself was great. Modern and clean with great service. Only complaint would be that the chairs do not recline. read more

I can't believe I failed to review this theater before. It really is excellent, both for new films and returning films. Parking is actually easy enough if you know there's parking behind the cinema. The lot is large, too. Seating is reserved. This allows them to serve you drinks and food directly to your seat. Quite the swell deal. They have a variety of possible beverages, alcoholic and non-. The food selection is casual fare that suits a movie house. Tables fixed between seat pairings makes it ideal for dates. Servers can even take orders mid-film if you write down your order and place it on your table front. They continuously scan, it seems. The price is even competitive. Well worth the visit. read more

I ordered online, they brought out my popcorn after 8ish minutes and then my Dr. Pepper a minute or two after that. 15 minutes into the movie I had already finished my Dr. Pepper and the popcorn was getting low so, we wrote on the note to refill our popcorn and drink. Waited about 20-30 minutes until someone came by but they only came by to say it was last call so that's when they took our order for the refill and then I waited the rest of the movie for it not to come. Others got there's but I guess ours got lost and to pay $20 for the bottomless popcorn and free soda refills and for them to check once on us for last call was terrible. I recommend going to any other theater to either get refills yourself or that has better in theater service. read more

The good: You get real food delivered to your seats, refills, etc. They have a no talking policy though from other reviews they might not enforce it. The bad: They have a movie plan for a free movie daily, but if you use it, they only let you order tickets online and not in person, and online tickets have $2 convenience fee. So instead of free it becomes $2. I tried to buy the pickets in person before to avoid this and was told I can't. I was also thrown off by their 18% service fee. This doesn't go to the servers, but the servers do make a living wage instead as a result of this. When you buy movie tickets online and head directly to your theatre you might not be looking for signs and may miss this. The last thing I hate is that last call for ordering refills is like half way through the movie and you need to order extra refills ahead of time if you want them. And I've had times when they ignored my refill slips for like half an hour. But sometimes they are good about it. read more

I went and enjoyed the new Inside Out 2 at this theater recently. I didn't look too much into it prior, but it really is more of a dine and eat - than a normal movie theater! No complaints as the experience was different but not bad. The waiters errr very fast service to our seats - we had bottomless popcorn, waters, and the alamo spritz. I enjoy going for a dinner and movie at the local Drafthouse. We usually catch the latest release and partake in the themed menu items. It's always a treat. The chicken wings are delicious , my favorite dinner item. We enjoy the shakes, and appetizers. The theater is clean, the service is kind. Also, I enjoy getting there 40 minutes early to see the clips they show before the film that relate to the topic and pay homage to the film actors in funny ways. read more

This was my first time at an Alamo Drafthouse and I'm super disappointed. I ordered the "BBQ SMOKED BACON BURGER" and requested no onions. They came and told me the slaw had the onions in it and they asked if they could just remove the slaw, and I said yes. I got the burger and started choking and realized there were still onions on the burger which I'm allergic to. There wasn't a way to explain this and return the burger so I was charged $15 for something I couldn't eat. Below is the description of the burger that doesn't even mention sautéed onions and attached is a picture of my onion-less burger. The part that bugs me the most is that they came and verified the no onions and then dumped them all over the burger. First time visiting the Alamo! I'm generally not much of a movie theater person - I prefer being able to pause & talk & have subtitles on. That being said, I can appreciate an occasional cinematic experience, and this was a pretty enjoyable one. One drawback was we bought tickets online & chose our seats, but then they changed the theater before the show started & ended up moving our seats. They ended up being in pretty much the same spot we had originally bought, so it wasn't really a biggie, but when we checked in at the box office they told us to just go to the theater without informing us the seats had changed, so we had to go all the way back to the front to find out where they had us. They were super nice about it & it wasn't a big deal at all, just sort of a minor inconvenience that could've been communicated better. The food was tasty, I got the margerita pizza which I enjoyed. It wasn't mind blowing but it was solid, and just the vibe of getting to eat & drink during the movie was really nice & pleasant. They really have the system down to serve food without disrupting the movie, it was fun to see & experience. I was curious to see how they were going to pull that off & was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the process was. I also really enjoyed the seasonal cocktail I ordered. The seats are comfy. I don't know too much about audio or visuals but I had no complaints about the sound or the screen. Decided to take the family to a movie last night (08.02.25). We don't typically order much food through a show, but usually get a beverage and popcorn. My nearly $7 glass of pop never got refilled and when I asked, they told me it was past last call. What?! The show was barely half over... and it was pop. You fill up a cup and put it on the table. Plus, when did they stop telling you it was last call? Best part? They automatically add an %18 tip (for fair and consistent wages.) When did it become my job to pay an employee because their employer is too cheap. Better yet, when did a solid tip for crappy service become the norm? If a server knows they are getting a nearly 20% tip what incentive do they have to do better? This has been my favourite venue for years, but this really dampened my enthusiasm. read more

Went here to see the movie Civil War with my boyfriend and it was his first time coming (my first time in years). I absolutely loved their Vegan Buffalo Cauliflower bites with really good Vegan ranch! My Royale with Cheese burger was sadly overcooked and dry, but my fries were really good. We also got some limited time Moon's Eclipse cocktails that were phenomenal! The service was great and did not disrupt the movie. I really had a great date night with my boyfriend here!
