Not Trustworthy! I used Greater Northern Cleaning for the first time recently. The cleaning staff was lovely, professional, and did a good job. My issue is entirely with the owner and the billing process. I was quoted $180 for one hour with a three-person team. The cleaners were there for one hour, and I was given a bill for $180, which matched our agreement. Three days later, I discovered that my credit card had been charged $240 instead. When I contacted the owner, he told me they had undercharged me. I explained that the team was there for the agreed-upon hour and that I had a bill showing the $180 charge. His response was that he didn't know why his employee had given me that bill because he handles the invoicing. Frankly, that is an internal issue that should be resolved within the company, not passed on to the customer. It was disappointing to hear an employee blamed for the discrepancy, and even more concerning that an additional charge was made to my credit card without my authorization or prior discussion. I even offered a reasonable compromise of applying the difference as a credit toward a future cleaning because I had planned to use the company again. Unfortunately, that was not accepted. The cleaning team earned four stars. The owner's handling of the billing issue earned one. Customers should be able to trust that the agreed-upon price is the price they will be charged. read more

This is a scam. They sent more cleaners than I asked for and charged me for 3 cleaners - not worth the price or the hype - at all. I won't be using them again. read more

We have used Great Northern Cleaning for the last two years. Several times they have overcharged us, neglected to clean properly. When addressing this issue, they offered no resolution nor any credits. Recently, they charged for a full clean while client was out of town and only the dishes in the sink were cleaned, and nothing else! asked for a refund or a full clean and the owner of the company hung up refusing to accommodate us. I have been doing business with GNC for at least five years know. I speak with Josh mostly. He is always helpful, professional, accommodating. I've changed my cleaning from week to bi weekly, I've changed the day I have then changed back to every week. Josh always comes through. The team is great! If I leave a note on something. Whether it be about a certain cleaner or whatever. They always abide by it. If by chance something can't get done one week. The team makes sure it's done the following. If not another day that week. I understand sometimes things may not be up to par for some of there customers. Remember before posting a bad review. They are only human. And I'm sure not meant out malicious intent. Unfortunately this company did not do a job cleaning, I do not recommend. It was post construction and our contractors let us know what a terrible job they did. I specifically asked for things to be cleaned mirrors, shelves and doors. None of them were touched. I reached out to company and their response was they pay for the time there- even if they don't clean? A big mistake- DO NOT USE. read more

RUN AWAY FROM USING THIS COMPANY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. They quoted us $400-500 for interior cleaning (heavy/spring cleaning including interior windows) and carpet cleaning. They provided us an invoice at the end for close to $1,100. The cleaners were friendly and helpful, but Josh's (the owner's) actions were completely unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

We requested an estimate for a DEEP cleaning for our 2x2 Condo. met with their rep, and told estimate would be ready the next day. NO contact then or even 3 days later(we keep calling and leaving messages). We even contacted their rep again and she said she sent an email -- didn't. Finally contacted an office person --said she would send quote. We did request a date but never heard from them !! we are a Repeat customer also ! read more

I'm so sad I didn't check the reviews on here before hiring GNC. Not sure how they tweaked the algorithm on Google. I have developed major allergies and have been miserable. We wanted this company to do a deep clean (basically dusting and vacuuming under all furniture) My partner spent hours preparing for the visit by tidying everything and washing bedding and curtains. We were charged for 2 people to do 2.5hrs of cleaning, but after they left we could see that many, many basic things were missed and it was not even a decent basic cleaning, let alone the deep cleaning we needed. Please note, our home is tiny - less than 1,000 sq ft. A fan blade was broken and trying to deal with them has been so infuriating. I'm sure "Frank" (this is the owner but you will most likely be dealing with his son Josh) will post a response insulting me like he has anyone else with a legitimate issue with the quality of work, so I've attached the email exchanges so you can decide for yourself. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had them come for what I thought was a deep clean. I told them I had an empty unit, no furniture, that needed to be showed. They billed me for 6 man hours for less than 1000sq ft space. I had to run out to my driveway to pay with a check before they left. I went up to the unit later that day and the window trims were not clean, the cabinets weren't touched, there was dust caked on the doors, AND LEFT THEIR TRASH IN THE UNIT. Regardless, I called 7:00 the next morning (saturday) Didn't hear back until I called monday. I went to their facebook address saturday, nothing there. (Ive since found the address) But THIS IS what really upset me... when I called I asked to speak to a manager. The man on the phone said he could handle it. Told me I wasn't down for a deepcleaning (when I said I was prepping the unit for show). He would only refund 1 man hr (12.5%) and refused to let me speak to a manager or give me the correct address. They didnt have any interest in seeing pictures Id taken that, and said I paid for the cleaning I got... Which we had discussed an hourly rate not a hard job quote. There was no reason to leave before the unit was clean, especially since I stayed at the property during the cleaning. Maybe this comment will insight a comment from the manager... because I never got them to give me a call back more than 2 days after the first voicemail. I wouldve liked to resolved this issue person to person, but your staff didnt allow that to happen. read more

I've been using Great Northern Cleaning for about six months, and couldn't be more pleased. The cleaners do a great job (even according to my extra-clean husband), they're extremely friendly and helpful, and the company is super-professional to work with. I suspect the bad reviews on this site come from people who didn't try to resolve their problem with the company. I had called them for a free in-person estimate. They were prompt in responding to that request. I've also gone ahead and scheduled the cleaning. We just were not sure about whether to get the carpet cleaned or not and they were not sure about the estimate either as they give that out to someone else. There was a little back and forth with the calls regarding the carpet cleaning. However, when I called to confirm the cleaning, their response was outright rude and unprofessional. The gentleman on the other side had said that they don't want to clean our house anymore and hung up the phone. I called back to know what went wrong, but they never cared to answer. Sorry to say but there are many other 5 star providers that are out there who are more professional even if we don't give them any business. Glad this happened before we confirmed which showed the true nature of this company. WILL NEVER CALL OR HIRE THEM IN THE FUTURE. read more

In response to frank's in accuracies. I was present during about 2 hours of the cleaning. I distinctly never complimented the service. I did generously give several valuable inters to the cleaners. Never complimented them Fun thing about Frank's response are his "alternatives facts" We did discuss the garage just not the windows as we had mentioned in the house also, because the estimate was so high. There was almost no furniture (dinning room table, sofa In the loft, patio furniture and 6 stools) in a 4000+ square foot house) in the house again alternative fact. There were a lot ofthings that did need moving. But who cleans a house and doesn't move things? Isn't that what they are paid For? After I discussed how awful the job was and how another person came inthe next day to reclean, with a friend, she said, that they had found GNC never moved anything when they cleaned a space for them. I too recommend that no one provide services for me either. If your work is as bad as GNC, I don't want you working for me! read more

I can't say enough about Great Northern Cleaning. Their team is professional, timely and thorough. And their pricing is reasonable. I used Great Northern for rug cleaning twice and window cleaning once. All three jobs were done with expertise. I highly recommend this company for all of your cleaning needs. read more

This company is one I wouldn't recommend to anyone. They didn't clean much at all, they were in and out in 45 minutes and my house is 3000 square feet. They sent different people every time, most of whom were dressed unprofessionally and smelled of cigarette smoke. The managers are very unprofessional, and rude! Overall not a good experience. I actually signed up for yelp just now so I could post this. We left our house for the day to get it cleaned and we came back and were not impressed. Areas were obviously skipped and missed entirely (our master bedroom was completely untouched). We paid extra for window cleaning and asked specifically for sills to be cleaned and all of them were untouched and still dirty. We have requested that they call us back to discuss it and I will update this if I ever hear back. read more

We were very disappointed in the lack professionalism displayed by this company. We have a very gross cleaning job to be done, and were very upfront about that when we scheduled someone to come out and look. It took a week for a person to come look and when he did he was in the place barely five minutes, declared it fine and set us up with an appointment another week out. When the cleaners came we could not be around, but they left without ever doing any cleaning and without a call or text or any follow up as to why they left. Upon several calls to find out what happened, we were told they "smelled gas" and didn't want to clean up mouse droppings. It was so disappointing that no one bothered to call and that the person who took the walk through told us we weren't going to have a problem. We have tried to contact them for follow up for two days and have heard nothing. I will never do business with this company again and will never recommend them. read more
