This review marks my 2300th. It is fitting that it's about preparing to travel to the States, which…read moreI haven't done since early March 2020. I originally booked an appointment through Specialty Rx Pharmacy for a COVID-19 antigen test. When I arrived at the pharmacy, I was directed over to Ellesmere Healthcare Centre to check in. I got Joan at reception, who was the sweetest woman. I indicated that I had an appointment at 10:45 am. She found me and asked that I fill out a short form. The last question in a series of five was a trick. Most of the questions had me answer no. The last one asked, "Are you fully vaccinated?" I checked no accidentally. Oops! We got that straightened out. You do need to provide proof that you are you. A passport or driver's licence work. I provided the latter. Done! I had already provided my health card details online, so I didn't need to flash that. It was strange, but I'm guessing that my driver's licence proof reinforced my health card information. She confirmed that I was travelling to the States. You do need to have this antigen test within 72 hours before your departure. She had to think about my situation. I said that it was more like 52 hours. We both chuckled, as she implied that math was not her strong suit. She entered my information into the system. I had added my credit card information online, but her payment system was down. We settled payment at the pharmacy, which was smooth and seamless. When she was ready, we headed over to a medical room. She let me know that I could keep my mask on, but to lower it enough for her to swab both nostrils. She used a swab with a brush tip. She swabbed and it felt like a tickle, but without my bursting out in laughter. It was oddly enjoyable. Who knew?! She let me know that it would take ten minutes for my test result. She said that I could come back in ten minutes. I indicated that I'd wait in the waiting area, which was cool with her. Sure enough, ten minutes later, she had my printed report ready. She had also sent me a digital version of it. She asked that I look over all details to make sure that everything was good. It was. I wished her a great day. She wished me a safe trip. It was such a great experience. This clinic does take patients. It doesn't take walk-in patients, but you can book an appointment to see a doctor. The clinic is clean. The pharmacy and clinic are under one roof without any walls when you are inside. Both businesses have separate entrances. I'm guessing that it's a design trend these days. There is plenty of parking at this plaza. I wish that Chatime were open when I was there. I'll need to come back and check it out, along with the other stores. I'd return here for future antigen tests for travel. The report quality is perfect and it was $39. (429)

Thank you, Dr Azoubel! We had been living with fear of rupture for so long before my husband was referred to you. You got the ball rolling immediately and we are very grateful to have had you for the surgeon. Thank you Christopher Hawling and members of the operating room team for a great job. Thank you, Dr. Guo in the ICU. Your humour and charm are such an encouragement and much appreciated. Thank you also to the nurses Rosario, Elena and others who cared for Ken. Great team.

Medical monsters…read more This was the third time i have had a hellish experience at this, the worst hospital in Scarborough. And they know it too, and I suspect they take pride in being the worst. The first two involved me alone, and I can deal with that. But this time the victim was my 18-month old son...and that I will never forgive. I rushed here in a panic after talking to poison control, because he had ingested something he shouldnt have. What a mistake. Every step of the process was awful, infuriating, and lacking in the slightest bit of compassion or even competence. One can even overlook a lack of compassion to a toddler (monstrous though that is) if one were confident in the best care being given. No...they diddled and dicked around so long, even waiting on hold with poison control (how the hell does a damn hospital not have a direct line to Poison Control? Only in Ontario...). By the time a doctor showed up she chastised me--next time act more quickly. But i have been here in the ER for almost two hours!!! You should have acted sooner! The nurses complain constantly over my son's crying body, lamenting their jobs and their lives. "This is why I dont have kids" laughs one of them. They tell you nothing, even though your mind is racing. Remember, too, that a language barrier accompanies each and every interaction in this hospital. No one understands anybody. The poor boy will have to stay overnight for observation since they delayed treatment so long that it just has to work through his system. So up to paediatrics we must go, where at least the nurses on staff must love kids? No. Rudeness, mumbling, no eye contact. No answers. No help. No direction. My little boy is being very brave, but he is scared and sick, and his daddy is panicked. But neither compassion nor competence are on display in this circle of hell. The horrible nurses hide their mouths and the consciences behind those stupid masks, but the reality is that they dont give a shit. Monsters, all of them. An asteroid should level this godforsaken gulag and free them from their rotten lives and empty souls. Never ever ever take anyone you love, like, or even remotely consider an acquaintance, to this medical cesspit. Zero stars, zero respect. Damn you all.
