There is another room for families with little ones who need to "wiggle" a bit during an hour long meeting, where they can draw, read, or lie on the floor without worrying about disturbing the larger, more still meeting. During the school year, childcare is available for pre-schoolers and there are religious Ed classes for older kids. My fifth-grader sits with me in the main meeting room for the first 15 minutes and then joins the other life upstairs and always enjoys it. This is an unprogrammed meeting, usually with a couple of messages given, but sometimes silent for the whole hour. For those who know a bit about Quakerism, AFM belongs to SAYMA, which is part of FGC. If you've never attended here, or are new to Quakerism, this is a peaceful space that's comfortable for individuals and is run by a group that has established programs that accommodate families with kids of any age.

When we arrived to sign in, we weren't expecting to stay at the Shepherd's Inn, but it turned out to be an amazing experience and we felt extremely blessed to be there. The Inn was simple, yet had everything we needed - clean, comfy beds, spotless bathrooms, and amazing views from the walk-out porch. The Training Center provided our meals, and they were incredible - home-cooked style, healthy, flavorful, and generous in size. The Chatlos Memorial Chapel was breathtaking and offered a peaceful place to reflect. The grounds at The Cove were immaculate. Everything was in pristine condition, beautifully maintained, and the views of the nearby mountains and forests were beyond words. As a bonus, we even got to see several black bears and cubs - easily one of the highlights! Thank you to everyone at The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove! Whenever I listen to the Billy Graham channel on SiriusXM and they talk about The Cove, I can happily say I've been there and can picture it all so much better now.

We gave the church about $1,000 over the year- donating to the church, their missions, an individual parishioner with cancer. The children were in the Christmas pageant, my husband helped move heavy items for the pageant. The children attended Sunday school. We attended Bible study. We attended their church dinners. Then I landed in the hospital for a week, I was on life support- no one called my family, no one cared. Four children almost motherless, and no one cared because we're not from around here. Even though we had participated in their church life for a year. These are not good people in my opinion. Also, church should be more than telling each other how righteous you are and condemning everyone else.

No matter what age or size of your family there is a place for you. The children and youth leaders truly usher your children through their walk with the Lord regardless of their age.
