The pastor calls out sin in the world and preaches with a passion that helps to bring the word alive, he also keeps the crowd engaged with some humor. He brings the word of the Bible into modern day and how you can apply it to your every day life. Music is a mixture of songs on the radio and originals, and they are all good! Also, they offer online viewing for when we're not able to make it in person. On our first visit, the pastor was out in the lobby talking with everyone and they are super welcoming to newcomers. I can't imagine going anywhere else! Also, they are Bible and gospel based, which is very important. And they do a lot of community outreach locally and internationally!

The tight-knit group is a family and does not shun newbies but instead embraces them. I have witnessed normal hurts and offenses within the congregation but the way they were handled was with grace, understanding and forgiveness. You will always find conflict within a church but the thing that can set one apart from the rest is how the conflicted is resolved. My experience thus far with Gateway is that conflict is addressed with compassion and maturity and the relationships are stronger for it. No bitterness left behind and more love radiates through the healing than the discomforts of the conflicts. A wonderful representation of the Body of Christ and the power of Christ in the heart of these people.

I have attended churches where no one had the opportunity to talk one on one with the pastor, newcomers were not really accepted unless they were related to someone already in attendance or friends of the pastoral staff or sang in the choir. Clicks seemed to rule. I disliked the judgment of others who simply didn't fit in nor wore acceptable clothing or drove the right kind of automobile or whose young folk didn't fit in their youth groups because they attended a school in the wrong side of town. If you were not talented in music or song you didn't fit in either. Politics was preached from the pulpit and praise and worship were looked down on. But...at Gateway Community Church, everyone, no matter their lifestyle, color or income doesn't matter. Everyone is made welcome and everyone has an opportunity to talk to the church leadership or be prayed over at any time they feel a need. Our pastoral staff is always ready to help in any situation. You are their first priority and Jesus Christ is always a part of the solution. Gateway's kids are mighty oaks. The elders of the church are strong towers, always dependable and our young families hold the key to our growth. I must say that I have never learned so much bible in all my life because of the loving and informative way it is taught, without personal opinions, as seen in other places of worship. This is what I love most about Gateway.
