My wife and I did not wished to cook tonight, so we asked each other what we hungered for and decided on Chinese. Well, finding a good restaurant in NE Ohio is somewhat challenging, and even more so during a pandemic! We used to visit a Chinese takeout in Seville, but it closed. Then I discovered Great Wall in Lodi while doing a quick Google search. It is located just off the central park and next to a CVS pharmacy. The front door was open, and I walked it to discover the entire front counter covered in a plastic painter's sheet with two cardboard covered openings: one for incoming payment, and the other for outgoing food. It was just different not to see a hard plexiglass barrier like most other F2F businesses have. I ordered Cashew Chicken dinner & an egg roll for my wife, while I asked for Chicken in Garlic Sauce dinner. Certain vegetables and rice were omitted, and I was on my way within 15 minutes. There was some traffic, mostly for pick up orders. I got home and prepared dinner and we dove in. I can't recall the last time I ate Chinese food, and what we ordered was hot, perfect and delicious. We usually don'y buy Chinese (which is why we had a dry spell) because it is usually filled with extra vegetables used as a filler for a meager portion of protein, while also containing enough oil to lube a car. But in this case, we were fortunate enough to get great tasting dishes with wonderful sauces, and a minimum of oil. If you have a hankering for good American-Chinese food, in a small town in Medina County, Ohio and find yourself passing through, make sure you stop and get some tasty food. This is a great local Chinese spot. The portions are big and the food seems fresh. The crab Rangoon is not very great, I'm pretty sure it only has cream cheese in it... it's bright white and no crab taste. It was good though, but no crab flavor at all. We had vegetable lo mein (super good!!), egg rolls, general tso's chicken (not the best I've ever had, but it was very good!), and sweet and sour chicken (crunchy and not too greasy). Nice little place on the commons in Lodi, clean, mostly carry out with a couple tables. Large menu, ordered the Chicken in black bean sauce, asked for spicy hot. Very friendly service, a couple questions about the dish had to be translated for the chefs. Ample portions, really good taste, exactly what I wanted. Many Chinese restaurants do not offer the black bean sauce. Get to watch the chefs. Very friendly Chinese waitress/hostess. I would drive into Lodi from the freeway, passing a lot of other places near the exit, to sample their food again. read more

Decent Asian cuisine is tough to come by in this area, particularly so during COVID times. Great Wall is the best carry out that I've found and I've been looking. Plus, they operate safely with virtually contact free transactions. It's not a 5 star place but it has more hits than misses. Worthy of support. read more

This is a great place for some excellent Chinese take out! Fresh and fast and a good value. I suggest calling your order in advance and beat the line. The owners are genuine and friendly! Stopped here after picking up a recently serviced bike. While dining in is accomodated with plates and silverware, the fact that it's essentially a take-out place is evidenced by the absence of water glasses, decent sized dinner napkins, the fact that beverages are sold only in cans or bottles and the fact that one gets one's own chinese mustard etc. from the bins available for the take out crowd. On the plus side it's available if necessary as it was in our situation and one is served the food and served on non-disposable plates. We both got combination plates and the food was fine. No P.F. Chang mind you , but fine. Reasonable portions and prices. The staff was very affable and the request to make a non-spicy dish spicy was honored. Both of our dishes had shrimp as the protein and it wasn't overcooked and mushy as occasionally occurs. read more

Pretty good food actually. They're pretty much stingy with the rice. Even if you order a large entrée they Will give you a small order of rice to go with it. My son always gets the sweet-and-sour chicken it's not bad but there's no pineapple no bell pepper and the sauce is average. However the wonton soup is delicious!! Dine in is okay, and when you order take out you may want to order before you get there, if they are bust you may be standing or sitting for a little while...
