Good food! Nice and hot great tasting nice lil spot for take out. The egg rolls were dynamite and my wonton soup very tasty cant wait to try the chicken noodle or chicken and rice soup. I dont usually write reviews. But I want to help this little small business in this small little town to be known. because this Chinese carryout is actually legit. My husband and I are out on a road trip, and I was craving Chinese, and this was the closest one to the exit. I was not expecting anything great out of the boondies from a carryout but...The wings are whole piece wings nice hot n crispy perfect marinate not too salty like other places, the sweet n sour chicken was one of the best sweet n sour chicken I've had, the batter was crispy and fluffy, fried rice was on point, only the lo mein was kind of soft. Absolutely one of the worst examples of Chinese food I've eaten in a while. -Still offering a buffet. It does present an increased opportunity, given the current virus situation, to get more than you paid for. Patrons since they are "technically eating" wear no masks but continue to return to refill their plates. - The food tastes frozen and not in a good way. Freezer burnt and reheated is better description - The "Hot & Sour Soup" is neither ...Not Spicy or sour it lacks flavor. We paid our bill and left. read more

Food was decent. I stopped in for a quick bite because i didn't want to cook and i had a taste for some soup...i ended up getting egg drop soup and moo shu chicken. The moo shu was great but the soup had no taste and it was very "yolky" Staff was very friendly and customer service was great. Maybe I'll return and try something else...maybe i won't. read more

The customer service was terrible...they refused to serve me without a reason but served the next person. They we're arguing and loud in the kitchen and not to mention a friend of mine later found a roach in their food from there. They need to be closed down and banned from opening anywhere. I always love Great Wall Chinese food! They make lemonade that's especially good, but can be really sweet to someone that doesn't like sweet drinks. The sweet tea would be a better option in that case. They have a really cheap lunch special before 3 that has a bunch of foods that come with pork fried rice and your chosen food for $4.95. The people are always nice there and give me really great service. They also make all your food in a kitchen you can see when you order it. So it's fresh and that's a big plus. When picking up Chinese food in Roanoke Rapids this is always my first choice place. The food never dissapoints me. read more

There's not a lot of selection for Chinese take-out in Roanoke Rapids but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Don't be discouraged by the storefront- the health rating is high and the staff is great. We ordered a pretty large spread to feed a group- moo goo gai pan, mu shu chicken, shrimp and broccoli, chicken lo mein, hot sour soup, wonton egg drop, and the pupu platter. They threw in some free donuts and a few sodas gratis for the large order. It was all excellent (although the noodles in the lo mein aren't the same I'm used to, they were still darn tasty) and the moo goo gai pan really stuck out as being better than what I've found other places. My only word of warning- this might be one of the places that still uses MSG. I realized that I hadn't specifically asked for MSG-free and ran back in to let the clerk know and he assured me that my order would be properly prepared. read more

This is a very good little hole in the wall takeout Chinese restaurant. The food is excellent and quite tasty . Portion sizes are right inline with prices. They do not seem to use the really cheap vendors/suppliers that others do, ie no rubbery or unchewable beef to date. Staff is friendly. There is a small sit down area to eat if you must.
