I've been fighting to get disability since 2015. With Greeman Toomey, they never gave up on me. I was denied twice, but they really believed in my case. Today, I was FULLY APPROVED!! They fought tooth and nail for my case and won! Communication between attorney and client were always prompt within a business day of my questions and within hours of the hearing. I was represented by greenman toomey I was denied because my lawyer didn't submit over 700 medical pages, argued with the judge with me on the phone ,...I was denied months ago..but yesterday I got a letter stating my case was favorable resolved and benefits will be awarded..so I called and left a message and one of their representatives just called and apologized for accidentally sending me that award letter and it was an error on their end. If you need a Lawyer any time prior to the day of your disability hearing, these guys are NOT for you. They literally don't even assign a lawyer to your case (commission) until the DAY BEFORE THE HEARING! I had to do all my own research, make all my legal arguments, go through thousands of pages of medical records and highlight for the Ct. Dr. and Judge what they were supposed to notice, etc. The lawyer introduced himself to me just a few hours before the hearing, after I did all the work, and he was RUDE and told me to have no part speaking at the hearing, as if I'M the one who would've been incompetent on the case! I won my case (Ct. Dr. and Judge said so at the very start of the hearing) that I'd presented, the lawyer literally didn't do anything on it. I have worked with this firm since 2020. I am very thankful for them, because, they kept on pursuing the case even after I felt like giving up. I gave them the name of the medical facilities and they found the information. Not gonna lie, I did have a lady that handled my case leading up to the hearing. Then, either Greeman or Toomey will represent you in court. Yes, I was told not to talk during court. Did I win? Yes. I liked that they did the work of collecting medical records for me. And since I am not experienced in representing disabilities in court, I appreciate that I will be getting benefits soon. Communications with the law firm were very minimal for me. But to say that they are bad at communicating is not accurate in my experience. The lady that handled my case told me from the start that email was faster for her to respond. I emailed, then she would either reply or call to gather further information. Their only downfall is that either James or Patrick (I don't remember which one) asked me a very offensive question on the phone call he placed to me just prior to the court hearing. He asked: "Did anyone ever tell you that you ramble?" Now, this is in consideration of the fact that he wouldn't let me get a word in. I'm sorry but that was uncalled for. I would not be able to refer Greeman Toomey law office to anyone. As my son's Personal Representative, I helped him hire this law firm to represent him in a Social Security Disability case. I never once spoke to one of the attorneys--only a couple paralegal assistants. I provided all the medical information they needed to submit to SSA. Before a decision by SSA was made, my son died, and I notified the law office of my son's death and signed more forms regarding his case. Shortly after my son's death, SSA approved his disability claim. Over a year after my son's death and the attorney received his compensation from SSA, I receive a letter addressed to my son at my address. The letter thanks Nathan for being a client and tells him that he can contact their office if he has any questions. The letter goes on to ask for referrals and includes business cards. I'm sure this is just a canned letter, but I'm appalled that this attorney office is not more on the ball to know better than to send such a letter to their client who died over a year ago. I won't be referring any business to Greeman Toomey Law Firm as I'm sure there are others who would have some compassion and be more thorough. read more

I'm going to warn you Mike S's review comes from Min, and hasn't had one onther review on here so its a shame yelp wont let me suggest that ip address be tracked for business fraud, im led to believe this is. to address them mishandling my case im going to report them, get my records and write every state rep in both our states and ask they investigate these attorneys for not reporting misconduct by judges, misconduct of their own, and impling to me that i fraud the ssi system by telling me if i said i was usig i would have just gotten it. this is after my hearing not after i was denied. prior to this proceeding he told me he didnt need to show the judge my medicine for drug use, he said "i want you to be honest about the last time you used drugs'', so you can out 2 and 2 together im reporting it he let the judge ask me again what i did all day after i answered "i physically wont be doing things but my mind is exhausting me physically'', she goes no re answer but didnt ask me about any mental health, i'm scizophrenic to most drs, always no matter what assigned a psychotic disorder, this was for years before using, and after being treated for addiction for a over a year saw the dr, who my lawyer said believed i could be scizophrenic but when the judge asked if i was crazy from drug use i was very concerned and tried to retort if they had all my medical records including over 2 years worth of clean drops and at least one years worth prior to being treated with psycotic disorders. im going to have to assume that that judge deciding someone whos given lithium, seroquel,ect regularly most certaintly cannot climb a ladder. i should get a job that asks me to so if i get hurt i sue the man running ssa. CHERRRY ON TOPPPP was that i kept saying that ssa was lying to me about giving me disability benefits the first time i applied, to this day not one number i listed said they talked to ssa trying to reach me, did RYAN ask me this NO, did he ask how many numbers were listed to reach me NO, he said ''YOUR MOM PROBABLY LIED BECAUSE SHE DIDNT WANT YOU USING" impllying that my mother commited fraud and mail crimes becasue the money would allow me to use. OK BUT DID 2 OTHER PEOPLE DO THIS? they may want to alert ssa to admit they were negligent with the case, say their lawyer should have reported the judges dismissing me when i tried to bring up my mental health before the faces of this firm loose their right to practice law because i reporting the accusations my lawyer made that will most certainly be investigated. read more

I found Greeman Toomey law firm through a friend of a friend and I'm so glad I did. After my first phone consult with another attorney, who has told me I was "too young" (late thirties) and sure to this I "wouldn't win", Greeman Toomey's kind intake coordinator talked to me for awhile over the phone and after speaking with James Greeman and Patrick Toomey, they took my case! The case manager was fabulous and kept me in the loop on everything and answered all my questions. My first hearing their attorney Dan Yates helped to sway that judge, however apparently that judge suddenly retired and my case had to be retried with a new judge many months later. The second hearing was much longer but went very well, and they did accept all info from the first hearing including the recording from the doctor on that hearing. Mr Greeman and Mr. Toomey were absolutely kind and knowledgeable. The attorney walked me through things beforehand and asked all the right questions during the second hearing and definitely helped sway the judge. I am so very thankful they represented me! I am disgusted by the attorney, Daniel Yates, that they gave me to represent me regarding my Social Security Disability. Today, 09/19/19, when I called him to ask him for the address of the Appeals Division, he went through a bunch of baloney as to why it if taking so long and was trying to convince me that I would be wasting my time to write them. My husband is on his death bed as I write this, so forgive me for errors and not mentioning all the problems I have had with this attorney and the Social Security Judges decision to deny me in September 2018. At the hearing, over video conference, the Social Security Doctor said that I was disabled and he reviewed my claim and told the judge that he should grant my disability. Three months later, the letter came from the judge that he was denying me my Social Security Benefits, for no good reason, just because he felt like it in my eyes, but I know in my heart the real reason, I am white and a woman. Today on the phone with Daniel Yates, like previous complaints say, they fail to update you on the status of your case and that they have no way of reaching out to Social Security to find out when your next hearing will be. I am speech impaired and somewhere in our conversation, Daniel Yates said "If you continue to interrupt you, I will hang up on you". I strongly recommend not to use this firm or this attorney to represent you. As soon as I can deal with my husband's passing, I will be looking for a new attorney. I sure hope that the firm I choose, will not have to start my case all over again, as that is what Daniel Yates and his firm wrote me, if I decided to change firms. read more

Go with someone else. Their communication is non-existent and they don't care about you as a client. No phone calls unless I called them and then it would take two or three tries to get a hold of someone. I got notified of my denial by a letter from them a month after I already received the decision from social security. And they filed for an appeals council without talking to me first as I had already hired a new lawyer. read more

I have currently been waiting on my case and they have only spoken to me once, any email responses take a week longer and often you have to email them a second time to get a response. If you are looking to speak to anyone that can answer your questions with court paperwork, you will not find them here as they have been able to answer none of my questions. If you are looking for someone to do the legwork of your case, you will not find them here. I requested medical record be pulled from 2013-current and they went as far back as 2015, even after I supplied them and did the most of the leg work getting them those medical records. If you are looking to speak to anyone as your case approaches do not expect to find that here, they will bounce you to voicemails and never call you back. If you are looking for someone to walk you through step by step, you will find more honest help by calling your local Social Security Office.
