I didn't understand what the problem was, so I called the sales person who came, took a look, and told me that they were fine. About five days later I called again because the trees were looking worse, and he told me he would come to examine the trees again. I had also sent him photos. He never came back. I called the office several times, only to be told the he was having personal problems and was absent from work. He later quit. They didn't offer to send someone in his place at the time. Later they told me that they were sorry I didn't like his customer service! Now the fourth tree is looking pretty sick. They told me I shouldn't have removed the now dead trees so they could have inspected them, funny in retrospect since no one was coming over anyway. The nursey has refused to do anything to compensate me. The 3 trees cost me $1,500. Although they did offer 25% off on anything else I purchased. As if they weren't having a sale anyway. Someone finally did take a look at the last remaining tree. She told me there was a drought and blamed me for not watering the tree more. I would avoid doing business with them. My salesperson is the second salesperson that has left in 6 months, Rick was great but he is gone. They don't stand behind their customer service or what they sell.

I spent most of September last year calling every nursery I could find looking for one and Rick at Young's at Three Rivers was the only person who said he could get me one - at the time the only ones available were in Oregon but we decided to wait for a spring delivery. I secured a tree with a deposit and come spring due to COVID shortages none were available. It took until August for Rick to locate one but he never gave up the search and updated me along the way. I was able to accompany him to the wholesaler to see the tree in person and it was just planted this morning by 3 very capable employees of Youngs who knew what they were doing It is wonderful having a Styrax occupying that location again and I owe it all to Rick and the staff at Youngs. Incredibly expensive for the size of plant you get - the minimums for the plugs pretty outrageous and impossible unless your spending thousands of dollars, literally. Yes, they have a plethora of plants that are not sold elsewhere as well as an enormous amount of plants, priced exorbitantly, that are sold everywhere. I started planting my garden this year and spent a hefty sum at Earth Tones two months ago in early May. I hugely hugely regret it. Currently my garden is a collection of plants purchased at three nurseries with Earth Tones being one of the three. Almost every single plant purchased at earth tones is covered with powdery mildew. Three Valeriana officinalis, each planted across a 40 foot expanse - covered in mildew - plants next to them from another nursery - nothing as of now. It started on the two Antennaria plantaginifolia plants, which errupted in a frothy mildew as soon as they started to grow. This mildew is now showing on all the plants I purchased from Earth Tones. I am really upset. This morning, I threw away 70$ worth of plants. I fear I will have to throw away more since it is starting to spread across my garden. The sedges I bought? Dying and so unhappy. The purple love grass. Full of weeds and barely growing. The the plants came with So. Many. Weeds, both visible and invisible seedlings, it is beyond frustrating. It feels super careless, especially at the incredible price point they are selling their plants. Not a single plant from the other nurseries are showing this mildew or struggling, but the plants from ET - it started showing a couple of weeks after they went into the ground. I spent over $500 at Earth Tones and I will never spend another dime. I am hoping I can save the rest of my garden from being infected. My other plants are thriving, my other grasses are exploding with joy. Please be careful when purchasing from them. I do not recommend this nursery or their quality.

This is a reuse store; that means the inventory is based on community and business donations or…read morematerials that ReCONN's volunteers and supporters salvaged from renovation sites with the work of their own hands and subsequently, the inventory changes constantly. This gem a local architectural salvage joint is 100% volunteer run. They do the work because they believe in the mission which is sustainability and keeping midcentury and vintage and the occasional antique items out of landfills. Keeps dollars in a well planned Reno budget too. It is NOT overpriced. They sell hardware by the pound and take whatever Home Depot charges and halves it or more. Occasionally there is a unique or valuable item and they sell it for whatever comps online show it to be "worth". Outside of the landfill these materials and items can be sold for substantial savings to consumers who prefer the second hand market (for whatever reason). However, in order for the place to survive, they have to make enough money to keep the overhead going. I'd rather give my money to a local nonprofit than a big box mass manufacturer any day. I love ecclectic designing and bohemian mixes. Prices fluctuate as does the inventory. All of my lighting fixtures in my 1947 cape cod style home were purchased here. I buy all the lumber for my DIY projects and enjoy the creative process of making it work with what I can salvage from their multiple piles of very usable lumber, flooring, tile, doors, a few appliances, windows, copper pipe remnants, hardware and more. They negotiate and if you think something is overpriced take a walk over (or search the web) to Home Depot and see what they're charging. If you can find a comparable item (actually comparable, most stuff now is made of junk wood while mid century stuff may be hardwood; not the same!!), ReCONN offers it either half the price or less. But the sad reality is prices are going up everywhere. That's not a local non-profit's fault, I assure you. I am also a local artist. I have been buying tile and wood scraps here for over 10 years to use as canvases. I do think the location is UNDERUSED by local recycled materials artists and I'd love to help spread the word. Local contractors know about it! The word is spreading among local DIYers. We should all support this local nonprofit: by donating our usable materials Shopping here for materials; they do have vintage or rustic or the occasional antique fixture, door and hardware Volunteering a couple of hours a month helping the core volunteer crew haul stuff around and tidy up. Once a local, neighborhood gem like this is gone, it's gone. It takes with it decades of heart and soul from the people who kept it going this long. Spread the word, support sustainability. Help nonprofits keep usable materials in our community. Protect our planet. Find yourself some cool 1960s cabinets for the Italian family basement kitchen!

We would be willing to pay the price asked but when a business puts in large letters, if you dont like our prices you can leave, this says they can care less if anyone buys. I guess they are open just to be open. Lastly, if you care about the environment and look at these type of stores for some items, I will tell you that there are other stores with better price points and who care about you visiting their store.
