Actually went here for the first time yesterday, 4/22, which is happened to be my 40th. I have to say just walking around this place was a gift in itself. From the plants to purse to pots. They have it all. Gifts from young to old and every indoor our house plant or flower you can find. It's neat clean and everything is thriving. An hour away but my goodness, EVERYTHING about this nursery made it worth the trip. My daughter & I were smiling from the moment we arrived, until after the 2 hours we spent enjoying this garden shop! Not only did they have a vast selection of everything outdoors related, they also carry a spectacular assortment of indoor houseplants. They even offer different sizes of certain plants, which is probably because the larger sizes can be up to and more than $100. That said, their prices for rare (and special) succulents are among the lowest we've seen. The Donkey Tail succulents, for instance, were very reasonably priced and offered in 3 different sizes; everywhere else we've been, a fuller sized plant were not for-sale. We bought 2 of those. It's significant to note that, even in the end of August, The Garden's perennials still looked super healthy and not at all "spent" of life like at so many other places this time of year. If you look through my pictures I bought quite a few things. :) The inside store of this place was a big surprise. It's so nice in there; beautifully decorated, with items grouped into separate areas. This is a wonderful place to find a gift for almost anyone. They carry beautiful boutique quality clothing, funny socks and hats, soaps & lotions, stuffed animals, jewelry, greeting cards, along with gardening supplies and decorations... and I have left out a lot. If all that isn't enough to encourage you to visit, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable too. They even helped us to trick some bees onto a different plant than the flowering one we wanted to put in our car. Yes this was a long trip for us, but my daughter & I agreed that this nursery is one of our favorites, worthy of semi-regular trips back. We took backroads to get there and the scenery was beautiful. Do not rent from The Gardens in Woodbury. They are shady and untrustworthy. Andrea is a liar and doesn't stand by her word. They will screw you over. There were bugs in the apartment during the showing. Shady af company. They ignore calls & texts. They just care about the money. They owe my family member and myself money and they never sent it. read more

After the unbelievable rudeness I encountered from the staff yesterday, I will not come back. First, the owner* simply turned his back and walked away from me as I was in the middle of asking him a polite question, in the middle of my sentence, which I was quite hurt by. He continued to ignore me and respond to other customers who approached him after I did. Why was I not worthy of his respect? I am shy and these things are hurtful. After finally finding someone to help me, who was also very rude and unfriendly, and acted like I was bothering her for asking a polite please-and-thank you question, they didn't have anything I needed for my citrus plant. So I wasted my time and walked away feeling insecure. Overpriced plants with a minimal selection of gardening supplies. *I am not sure if he was the owner, but when I spoke to others in the town about my experience, they told me he has a reputation for treating his customers unkindly. read more

AMAZING SERVICE! They put together a custom gift order for my friend. Melissa went above and beyond to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. She sent me pictures, and followed up with phone calls and messages very quickly and all during the busiest time of year (day before Christmas). She was a delight to speak with on the phone as well! Once the snow disappears and the weather starts to turn warm, I go and figure out what needs to be replaced on my herb wall. I normally grow 30-35 different culinary herbs, all in pots, and sometimes, some don't make it through the winter. The Garden is where I usually go to fill in what I need. They have a great selection of starter plants - a lot of different varieties of tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. I like heirloom varieties, and The Garden has a lot of them, as well as popular hybrids. The herb selection is fairly basic, but if I want something specific, they're more than happy to try to find it for me (this year's challenge: wintergreen to fill in a marshy area of the rock garden). There's also a good variety of flowers and shrubs. My rock garden is in a difficult section-no sun and is always wet. The Garden has a great number of shade-tolerant plants that thrive in that little corner. I also pick up a couple of flats of annuals to stick in hanging pots around my patio area. I've had very good luck with getting healthy plants that last all season. Need pots? Hanging baskets? Decorations for outside? The Garden has that covered, too. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and can help you with most of your gardening problems. Best of all, it's a quick walk from where I live, but I usually drive over because, well, I can't carry everything I buy. It's still early in the season, but in a few more weeks, you'll be able to find everything you need for your garden. read more

I got a Venus flytrap and some organic fertilizer, they helped me pick a healthy plant and get the right kind of products for the other houseplants I have at home. Yes there is a woman at the register who is quite rude! We bought 14, 4" plants at $5.75 each for 12 of them & 2 for $6.25 each though the sign said $5.75. We put 12 of the plants in a plastic holder that we took from a pile under one of the outdoor displays. The woman at the register said "you'll have to take those plants out of the holder. They are specially made for us to grow plants. She went on to say I can sell you containers for $0.25 each." I said really! The cashier said with a real edge "I'm not the owner, I just work here." THE BEST PART? Extensive selection and reasonable prices. The Garden is one of Woodbury's gems. I know you can go to many other garden stores to buy your seasonal decorations, but you likely will pay too much and not find exactly what you're looking for. The Garden always has lots of everything- today they had lots of small pumpkins, lots of large pumpkins, lots of mums in different sizes and colors, lots of fall cabbage and dried foliage, and lots of things I can't even name! Everything is beautifully displayed, and organized. They even scrub the pumpkins clean before selling them. The staff is always helpful. We've bought our Christmas trees here year after year, and they wrap them up and put them on your car for you. Today, the staff warmly welcomed our foster greyhound. They even encouraged us to take her inside the store when we paid. Speaking of the inside, I could spend an hour in there! They have all kinds of garden accents, decorations, scarves, mittens, ornaments, and more. It's the perfect place to find a gift for someone. Down a half flight of stairs is a huge greenhouse. You can find all types of houseplants here. Around the holidays, the greenhouse is filled with red, white, and pink poinsettias. Last, but not least, the prices here are refreshing. We just purchased two medium-sized mums, two medium-sized pumpkins, a small white pumpkin, and a gourd to decorate our front steps, and all of that added up to less than $25.00! How nice is that? So enjoy a leisurely drive to quaint Woodbury, and carve out some time to see all that The Garden has to offer. read more

If you're not a middle aged or older white person be prepared to be treated like crap by the middle aged, short brown haired Karen in the greenhouse. Every time I go there she is awful and after my most recent visit I will not go back. She never offers assistance and if you ask questions she is short and rude. Killing with kindness also does not work, lol tried (also am white but maybe not old enough? I spend a good amount of money there and am always polite so not sure what her specific issue is, other people that are there are wonderful but her awful demeanor ruins the experience) In addition, a lot of their plants have spider mites. read more

My go-to nursery/ green house. They have an enormous selection and its a lot of fun to walk through the different plant areas. They also have a gift shop that is really nice and cozy. They do a really good job at rotating inventory/ stock, so you always see new things every time you go in. Highly recommend. I usually come here during the warm weather to find herbs and mints that I need to replace that didn't survive the winter. Also we'll get a few veggie plants that aren't so easy to grow from seed or when the weather doesn't agree to let me start from seed without possibly losing them. I always love coming here because they have such a huge variety of things to choose from. I just wish I had more areas to plant with the right lighting because I would be here more often. Wow!!! The women that work there are so rude! Like they're special or something. They work in a garden center! Omg. Seriously I stopped going there due to the bad attitudes but today I was in a jam and needed a plant. It was overpriced- between that and the two women at the counter (I asked her not to wrap the plant in paper since it seemed like a total waste) she snapped at me and rudely said "it's too cold out" even though it was 51 degrees! The Garden has a descent overall selection. A couple of reasons I went with a 2 vs 3. 1) The selection of shrubs is moderate at best. They have your typical azaleas, rhodes, hydrangea and the usual suspects, but not anything too unusual. 2) This goes to my last statement about unusual. If they do have anything unique the prices are astronomical, and the prices are high on mostly everything. Most things are grossly overpriced. 3) They don't have any small to medium sized trees. That being said, the staff is always very accommodating and will to lend a hand. Overall this is a good garden center, but I had to hit em hard because of their prices. read more

Made a Yelp account just to voice my displeasure with The Garden. I've been going to The Garden for years now, and it has always been a business with good selection. However, the staff make my visits unpleasant. It is a family business which is great, yet most of the staff are snooty and act like they are better than you. After my most recent visit, I was not given the sale despite the fact that I had the required plants for the sale. The female cashier showed no interest in figuring out the sale, and insisted she couldn't do it. She refused to call anyone else to come help, and was very rude. Will not be returning. The Garden has lovely plants and good prices. Perhaps there has been owner/management change because the help at the nursery is poor. The workers seem put upon to advise or help. They seemed too busy, lazy, uppety or uninformed to want to help. A manager will listen to your request, point out another worker to you, vaguely wave in that direction and you must repeat your story again. Workers debated how to brush off annoying customers with me in full earshot. After a long visit of gathering plants and shrubs and with a full giant heavy cart of my choices, the salesperson indicated that I was to push it uphill over stones and rocks. She carried one plant. After dragging the thing for a while, I wondered aloud why I should be doing this and asked where the usual fellows who helped with loading plants were. She said they were busy, indicating that it was my job. She did not want to help put the plants and bushes in the car and said customers did that. Truly, Home Depot staff might help me if I asked! Despite selling a good selection of very nice plants, I fail to see why appropriate service would not be offered. Is this a discount store? The worker in shrubs had little idea of solutions and sent me off to others for help. Why not train the staff to pleasantly and willingly help with the selection and loading of items?
