An hour away but my goodness, EVERYTHING about this nursery made it worth the trip. My daughter & I were smiling from the moment we arrived, until after the 2 hours we spent enjoying this garden shop! Not only did they have a vast selection of everything outdoors related, they also carry a spectacular assortment of indoor houseplants. They even offer different sizes of certain plants, which is probably because the larger sizes can be up to and more than $100. That said, their prices for rare (and special) succulents are among the lowest we've seen. The Donkey Tail succulents, for instance, were very reasonably priced and offered in 3 different sizes; everywhere else we've been, a fuller sized plant were not for-sale. We bought 2 of those. It's significant to note that, even in the end of August, The Garden's perennials still looked super healthy and not at all "spent" of life like at so many other places this time of year. If you look through my pictures I bought quite a few things. :) The inside store of this place was a big surprise. It's so nice in there; beautifully decorated, with items grouped into separate areas. This is a wonderful place to find a gift for almost anyone. They carry beautiful boutique quality clothing, funny socks and hats, soaps & lotions, stuffed animals, jewelry, greeting cards, along with gardening supplies and decorations... and I have left out a lot. If all that isn't enough to encourage you to visit, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable too. They even helped us to trick some bees onto a different plant than the flowering one we wanted to put in our car. Yes this was a long trip for us, but my daughter & I agreed that this nursery is one of our favorites, worthy of semi-regular trips back. We took backroads to get there and the scenery was beautiful. I'd give The Garden more stars if I were able to.

The best nursery in town, a huge selection of exotic plants, garden flowers, and all accessories you need. the shop upstairs is beautiful and classy, it's the perfect place to go gift shopping!

Great selection! Maybe I'll be like that photographer lady who's only snapped in the periphery. Lol

What an absolutely lovely store. I had no idea what a treasure trove of good energy this place embodied. It's like Terrain in Westport with the prices to match as well, at least in their accessory shop. Many unique items not seen elsewhere was appreciated. I love good energy establishments!

Once the snow disappears and the weather starts to turn warm, I go and figure out what needs to be replaced on my herb wall. I normally grow 30-35 different culinary herbs, all in pots, and sometimes, some don't make it through the winter. The Garden is where I usually go to fill in what I need. They have a great selection of starter plants - a lot of different varieties of tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. I like heirloom varieties, and The Garden has a lot of them, as well as popular hybrids. The herb selection is fairly basic, but if I want something specific, they're more than happy to try to find it for me (this year's challenge: wintergreen to fill in a marshy area of the rock garden). There's also a good variety of flowers and shrubs. My rock garden is in a difficult section-no sun and is always wet. The Garden has a great number of shade-tolerant plants that thrive in that little corner. I also pick up a couple of flats of annuals to stick in hanging pots around my patio area. I've had very good luck with getting healthy plants that last all season. Need pots? Hanging baskets? Decorations for outside? The Garden has that covered, too. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and can help you with most of your gardening problems. Best of all, it's a quick walk from where I live, but I usually drive over because, well, I can't carry everything I buy. It's still early in the season, but in a few more weeks, you'll be able to find everything you need for your garden.

    Venus flytrap!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great selection. I got a Venus flytrap and some organic fertilizer, they helped me pick a healthy plant and get the right kind of products for the other houseplants I have at home. Also provided some clear and good care instructions for a bunch of different plants that I didn't know enough about. Great place

THE BEST PART? Extensive selection and reasonable prices. The Garden is one of Woodbury's gems. I know you can go to many other garden stores to buy your seasonal decorations, but you likely will pay too much and not find exactly what you're looking for. The Garden always has lots of everything- today they had lots of small pumpkins, lots of large pumpkins, lots of mums in different sizes and colors, lots of fall cabbage and dried foliage, and lots of things I can't even name! Everything is beautifully displayed, and organized. They even scrub the pumpkins clean before selling them. The staff is always helpful. We've bought our Christmas trees here year after year, and they wrap them up and put them on your car for you. Today, the staff warmly welcomed our foster greyhound. They even encouraged us to take her inside the store when we paid. Speaking of the inside, I could spend an hour in there! They have all kinds of garden accents, decorations, scarves, mittens, ornaments, and more. It's the perfect place to find a gift for someone. Down a half flight of stairs is a huge greenhouse. You can find all types of houseplants here. Around the holidays, the greenhouse is filled with red, white, and pink poinsettias. Last, but not least, the prices here are refreshing. We just purchased two medium-sized mums, two medium-sized pumpkins, a small white pumpkin, and a gourd to decorate our front steps, and all of that added up to less than $25.00! How nice is that? So enjoy a leisurely drive to quaint Woodbury, and carve out some time to see all that The Garden has to offer.

Incredibly expensive for the size of plant you get - the minimums for the plugs pretty outrageous and impossible unless your spending thousands of dollars, literally. Yes, they have a plethora of plants that are not sold elsewhere as well as an enormous amount of plants, priced exorbitantly, that are sold everywhere. I started planting my garden this year and spent a hefty sum at Earth Tones two months ago in early May. I hugely hugely regret it. Currently my garden is a collection of plants purchased at three nurseries with Earth Tones being one of the three. Almost every single plant purchased at earth tones is covered with powdery mildew. Three Valeriana officinalis, each planted across a 40 foot expanse - covered in mildew - plants next to them from another nursery - nothing as of now. It started on the two Antennaria plantaginifolia plants, which errupted in a frothy mildew as soon as they started to grow. This mildew is now showing on all the plants I purchased from Earth Tones. I am really upset. This morning, I threw away 70$ worth of plants. I fear I will have to throw away more since it is starting to spread across my garden. The sedges I bought? Dying and so unhappy. The purple love grass. Full of weeds and barely growing. The the plants came with So. Many. Weeds, both visible and invisible seedlings, it is beyond frustrating. It feels super careless, especially at the incredible price point they are selling their plants. Not a single plant from the other nurseries are showing this mildew or struggling, but the plants from ET - it started showing a couple of weeks after they went into the ground. I spent over $500 at Earth Tones and I will never spend another dime. I am hoping I can save the rest of my garden from being infected. My other plants are thriving, my other grasses are exploding with joy. Please be careful when purchasing from them. I do not recommend this nursery or their quality.

I didn't understand what the problem was, so I called the sales person who came, took a look, and told me that they were fine. About five days later I called again because the trees were looking worse, and he told me he would come to examine the trees again. I had also sent him photos. He never came back. I called the office several times, only to be told the he was having personal problems and was absent from work. He later quit. They didn't offer to send someone in his place at the time. Later they told me that they were sorry I didn't like his customer service! Now the fourth tree is looking pretty sick. They told me I shouldn't have removed the now dead trees so they could have inspected them, funny in retrospect since no one was coming over anyway. The nursey has refused to do anything to compensate me. The 3 trees cost me $1,500. Although they did offer 25% off on anything else I purchased. As if they weren't having a sale anyway. Someone finally did take a look at the last remaining tree. She told me there was a drought and blamed me for not watering the tree more. I would avoid doing business with them. My salesperson is the second salesperson that has left in 6 months, Rick was great but he is gone. They don't stand behind their customer service or what they sell.

I spent most of September last year calling every nursery I could find looking for one and Rick at Young's at Three Rivers was the only person who said he could get me one - at the time the only ones available were in Oregon but we decided to wait for a spring delivery. I secured a tree with a deposit and come spring due to COVID shortages none were available. It took until August for Rick to locate one but he never gave up the search and updated me along the way. I was able to accompany him to the wholesaler to see the tree in person and it was just planted this morning by 3 very capable employees of Youngs who knew what they were doing It is wonderful having a Styrax occupying that location again and I owe it all to Rick and the staff at Youngs. Cannot say enough good words about the experience - Thank you so very much!
