A gorgeous park with a lake, picnic areas, and RV set ups with grills, but most of all, the star of the park, Texas Bluebonnets. There is a park fee, of $5.00 per person. You are given a pass for the day. And a map of the park. To see the Bluebonnets from the entrance, you're just going to follow the road. Very easy to find. It's a bit of a drive to the Bluebonnets and lake. And it's a dirt road, lots of dust and small rocks. The park is absolutely beautiful. Amazingly quiet and shaded for an in-town RV park…read more I took a 10+ mile bike ride - on bike trails along parks and the water. Almost impossible in any other major city. Small sites - as you would expect in an urban park, but sufficient for our trailer and car. Convenient rest rooms, nice neighbors and lots of shade. The roads are newly paved, well lighted, and while not fenced and gated, the park feels safe. Best of all, it is walking distance from the Colorado river, a number of walking trails, and much of the Austin Government and historical buildings. We took a nearby driving sighting tour and a nice boat tour to see where the urban bats hang out (literally). I hope to come for a longer visit next time.

So here we go The humans booked us right outside of Austin, Tx at the Sun Outdoors Lake Travis RV park and we have to say we give this place 's from a dog perspective one of the things we loved the most were the 3 dog parks, so space for all of us regardless of personalities. Each dog park has a few big trees for shade, picnic bench for the humans to sit & bags and trash close by. While there are no jungle gyms for us to play on, we are ok with that as that gives us more room to run off the crazies. Also no water bowls @ 2 of the parks, but the largest did have a water bowl along with a doggie wash station The park had nice wide roads throughout so the humans can walk us and if there are any other dogs, each can pick a side of the road if needed! Also a nice off road walking path. RV site - nice and enough room between RVs so you don't feel on top of your neighbor. Usually a tree or two per site, picnic table, and grass at our site. Only downside, no fire pit but it was warm out so we didn't really miss it. Humans are happy tho, 50amp service, great water pressure, and sewer available at each site AND daily trash pick up RV park - nice wide roads, no low overhanging branches, gravel site but level enough and enough room for a 42' trailer + truck Took about 20-40 mins to get to downtown Austin depending on traffic. Pool and jacuzzi for the humans, along with a airstream cafe at the pool! also a gym and a clubhouse, again for humans We would definitely stay here again, everyone was nice and the park was kept in great condition #bringfido

It's had its share of park hosts and over the years it's improved aesthetically a lot but been hit or miss as far as our experience with the hosts. A couple years ago we swore we'd never be back because the hosts were essentially harassing us over every detail of our group (we tend to take about 10-15 camp sites, which is more than half of the park. This year was the best ever. The hosts, Mike and Annette, were AMAZING. They knew about our experience in the past and knew to give us the ground rules up front, and did it in the nicest way. They were constantly checking in to make sure we were having a great time, they hosted movie nights for the kids, drove the train around the park with the littlest ones, and just made sure our experience was amazing. We already booked a week for next year and can't wait. We hope Mike and Annette stay for many years!

I waited a few days to write this review, but here I am. We personally were neighbors with very…read moredisrespectful campers. The campsites are set on top of each other, therefore you will be within 10ft of another group. This would be fine if your neighbors are respectful. The restrooms (portapotties) weren't very clean either. However, the campsites did have plenty of shade, a table, campfire, and bbq grill. Could be a cool place if you're lucky enough to be near good people. We ended up leaving in the middle of the night. Unfortunately no refunds :(
