As a non-profit community based program, our budgets are always very tight so we rarely can afford to have professional "marketing" materials made about our services, so we were thrilled when Joanes volunteered his skills and expertise. As a filmmaker and videographer, Joanes was very meticulous and professional. He took the time to really get to know our program and the space. On the day of filming, he spent the entire day with our program staff and participants, conducting interviews and capturing our classes in action. Afterwards, he must have spent hours editing the video himself and putting the final product together, and the care he took really shows in the final product! I (the groom) usually get incredibly nervous and stiff the moment a camera points my way, but Matt has a way of making you feel completely at ease. I forgot the camera was even there, which allowed him to capture genuine, candid moments. I especially liked the behind the scenes moments he captured. I didn't know what was going on when my wife was getting ready with her bridesmaids and she didn't know what was going on when I was getting ready with my groomsmen. Being able to see both of those moments in video was really amazing and Matt did an incredible job capturing it in a very organic manner. Matt's work ethic is unmatched. He was everywhere at once, sprinting to get unique angles and perspectives we never would have thought of, while somehow remaining almost unnoticeable and not a distraction. His style is so distinct and creative--it doesn't feel like a standard wedding film; it feels like a piece of art. Because the wedding day is such a whirlwind, my wife and I felt like we missed so much of what was actually happening. Between getting whisked around, multiple outfit changes, and trying to make sure we got a quick bite to eat, we felt like we missed out on a lot of great moments. Our friends told us about those moments later, which was awesome. However, Matt's videos allowed us to truly see and experience our wedding in its entirety for the first time. He captured the essence of the day perfectly. He even went the extra mile after the final delivery to fine-tune the audio edits to ensure everything was flawless.
