From the very beginning, the staff took time to get to know my child before their first day, asking about likes, dislikes, and personality during the meet-the-teacher event. The teachers and administration were consistently warm, communicative, and present. Daily updates through the app were thorough, and on the rare occasion of an incident, I received prompt communication and personal follow-up, which made me feel supported and respected as a parent. Classroom transitions were handled with so much care and intention, making the process smooth and stress-free for my child. When our family had to move unexpectedly due to an emergency, the compassion and support we received from the teachers and leadership meant everything. The building doesn't look like much and it's a little confusing to navigate inside, however the quality of care, teachers and staff make Precious People one of the best day cares in the area. I'm very surprised that the price is so economical considering the prices of some others in the area. My son started in the "Little T's" (toddlers not potty training) and I quickly realized why changing him to Precious People was a good decision. Not only was he coming home from daycare with proof of activity (crafts, drawings, updates from teachers), but he was actually tired. You could tell that he wasn't just plopped down in a room to his own device. He quickly picked up new words and phrases. He's recently been moved up a room and because of a bad experience with a previous daycare and the move he made, I was nervous. But it was seamless and I had worried needlessly, the teachers are very friendly, warm and welcoming. I don't plan on moving my son out of Precious People until it's time for school, I've been more than pleased and this is coming from someone who is relatively difficult to please when it comes to their kid. We have spent nearly, if not more than, $100,000 there. For most of our time there, we had a great experience. Until this year. Not sure what changed besides the constant rotating of teachers and maybe being understaffed? We had all three of our girls there. Our oldest was shamed into wear pants with dresses and now has body image issues at the ripe age of 5 due to constantly being told she needs to wear pants with her dresses. She won't wear a dress now without pants. However, Mrs. Wagner is a godsend and frankly too good for Solverus. The real issues began about a year when our middle child. There had been multiple times where we could hear Judy yelling at her and the other kids. She's also told me multiple times that we need to "take our kid home and whip her". Judy is also a family member of the admin so there's some nepotism and lack of accountability there. Anyway, our middle child doesn't fit the mold. She pushes buttons and can be a firecracker at times. Apparently that was too much for Solverus. We had multiple conferences with the admin and did everything they asked of us. At one of our last meetings, it started with the admin saying "I don't know what goes in the classroom" even though they have cameras set up. However, when we asked them to do things like take recess away as a punishment, that never happened. Instead at any little inconvenience they called us to come pick her up. They suspended her on a Friday because she wouldn't line up for recess and then they sent her to the office. Instead of communicating with her and trying to calm her down, they just called us instead. It was on that Friday that I was told Kathy, the director, wanted to speak with me on Monday. Monday came and they told us they were no longer allowing her at Solverus. Not only that, but they kicked our 1.5 year old out as well when I told them I was recording the call. No grace period. No time to find another place. We are a 2-parent working home and now we have nowhere to put our girls. There's a good bit of amazing teachers there including Mrs. Wagner, Ms. Tesla, Ms. Alana, and others but the admin and management are inadequate to say the least. I would highly recommend you look around and explore your options before considering this establishment.

Southern shops daycare passed with flying colors in every aspect that I could research online! So my wife and I signed up our almost 2 year old to attend. At first he would cry when I would drop him off in the morning. As I expected. But within a few minutes of standing outside, his crying stopped. And I could peak through the window to see him start playing with the other kids. When I would pick him up he was always very happy. And after a while he started to hug the ladies that were caring for him goodbye for the day. This told me that my hours apon hours apon days, and weeks of researching daycares paid off in excellent childcare for my son Hunter. He would still be going here if covid had not forced them to close because of low enrollment. I'm putting this review because they earned it! I'm not the type to give respect till it's earned. And all the ladies and 1 man earned my respect a million times over for caring for my son like he was one of their own!!! My next part of my review is for any other daycare looking for top notch childcare employees. If you see on an application that they worked at southern shops daycare..... look no further, you have found the perfect person for the job! Just hire them! Once we finally started working on our own pieces, it felt overcrowded. There were too many people, so not everyone was able to get the help or guidance they needed. The class also felt very rushed. Getting our pieces back took longer than expected, and unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the results. The glaze looked terrible -- the color was inconsistent and uneven. At first, I thought it was just my piece, but everyone in our group had the same issue. My child has done pottery at school before, and their pieces came out beautifully, so I know better results are possible. Overall, it felt like a waste of time in terms of the class itself, but I still enjoyed spending time with my friends.
