Experience with Amro Construction…read more We contracted Amro Construction late in July about our need for some structural upgrades to the main entrance deckway and complete renovations of the two main floor bathrooms. We received their proposal in mid-August and after clarifying some details, work began two weeks later. Amro did a very solid job of scheduling the various outside resources they needed to use. The support trades they enlisted: vinyl decking installer, tile installer, electricians, painters, insulators and plumbers displayed the same work ethic and service orientation that the business partners do. Amro also recommended to us a number of suppliers: cabinet makers, flooring and tile suppliers that they had worked with successfully in the recent past and then looked after ordering and coordination of deliveries. The dedication, attention to detail and follow-up by the lead hand they assigned to our job was critical to Amro successfully delivering the kind of results they offered and we needed. The final phase of the work to be completed, the main ensuite bathroom, was available for use on November 11, ten weeks after work began. When Amro's final invoice arrived four weeks after job completion, there were no surprises. The invoice detailed the several scope adjustments that had been encountered, discussed and authorized in advance. Nothing was billed that we had not previously agreed to. We found the Amro team extremely service-oriented and personable, very diligent in follow-up exhibiting a very high work ethic. We had a general vision of how we wanted the bathrooms to look after renovation but not hard details. Amro's team, with their extensive experience, was able to suggest alternatives for our consideration and then we decided which way to proceed. ​We are very pleased with the outcome. Charged me for work not done Fortunately, the subtrades, electrician , plumber, and the cabinetry maker and their installers were professionals and did good work. I felt pushed and bullied by the contractor himself. He ended up ghosting me, and I had to call the original designer to help me have work I'd paid for completed. The review by "Hannah" is suspect, as his partner (now since moved on) had the very same name!

His quote was well below the other quotes received by at least $1000.00. Doug, was so great and really help with arranging what needed to be done. The whole team knew what they were doing and what needed to be done. They cleaned up after they were finished And left nothing broken or behind. The team worked well together and even had light conversation amongst themselves making it seem like they were happy doing what they were doing. We loved everything they did. I would definitely recommend this company and will have them back when we need more work done on our property. We highly recommend them!!! I would give them a call!!!

We are not only very disappointed at the quality of service we received from Baker Plumbing, but alarmed and disgusted at the blatant violation of our home, the homophobia we experienced, and their continued unprofessional response. Poor Quality of Work - The work took a week longer than quoted - Their digging broke our lanterns and killed all our mature plants along the path - They discarded garbage and broken tools around our yard (and did not clean it up) - They widened the path to our front door without telling us this would be done - Their job required us to hire a landscaper and hardscaper ($1000) to clean up the mess they had made (above and beyond the path reworking anticipated) Privacy Invasion and Homophobia - Phil, the owner of Baker Plumbing, showed up unannounced on our doorstep a month after completion of work to hand-deliver the bill (they had not emailed or mailed a bill) - On our doorbell camera, we heard Phil say "motherfucking c*cksuck3rs, I know you are home" - The video also showed that Phil had looked in our front window (blinds were closed), and we have video and audio of him saying "I can see you f*ck1ng freaks in there, mother#ck3rs" - We told them not to contact us again or come to our home: they continued to contact us via text and email Phil's Retaliation -We paid the bill within 24 hours of having received it. We left a 1-star review due to their poor work, the extra costs we had to pay to clean up after them, and because Phil had called us slurs and violated our privacy. -We emailed Phil to confront him about his homophobic language. Baker Plumbing called us "slanderous" -Baker Plumbing then posted 4 x 1-star reviews on our B&B's google listing. They have never been guests. The message we are getting from him is loud and clear: I hate gay people so much I am not only going to use slurs against them, but try to sabotage their business as well.
