These guys did a horrible job packing my moving truck. So many boxes were crushed/damaged, fragile boxes were packed low with heavy things on top of them, furniture was scraped, my dresser was broken, heater was broken, and more. Update: After posting my reviews, GGM did reach out to me to apologize for the issues with the packing job and offered a small refund. I do appreciate them doing so, and believe this isn't representative of the service they offer as a whole. I think the person organizing the boxes in the truck needed to pay more attention to what was written on them though. read more

I was looking around for a place to move my piano across town. I got a few quotes and read reviews of some other places and didn't feel comfortable hiring any of them. Then I saw the awesome reviews for Green Gorilla Movers and requested a quote. Dacia got back to me right away with a very reasonable quote and was able to move my piano the same week. He showed up with two other guys and they were able to load and drop off quickly and efficiently. I was nervous about hiring someone to move such a heavy item, but they did a great job and were very careful. They wore masks, which I appreciated, and were very friendly. I would encourage anyone to use them as they have reasonable rates and stand behind their work. They're also locally and veteran owned and operated. Wow! We just met some of the kindest, professional and efficient movers. Four stars! We had a 1,000 piece puzzle on our dining room table that was unfinished and instead of having to break it apart the movers figured out how to wrap it up with the table. Our puzzle arrived safe and sound as did all our furniture. Kind, efficient, polite, respectful and great problem solvers. Our kiddos liked the movers so much they wrote thank you notes. Our move on July 6 was very disappointing and we cannot recommend this moving company. * We scheduled this move well before the actual moving date. Our contents were reviewed by Green Gorilla Movers - they knew we had lateral files and gun safes. There was no surprise for the movers. * The quote included four movers and two trucks with a move time of 7 - 8 hours. Only one truck showed up and when questioned, we were told the other trucks were out on other moves. * The movers showed up with one dolly and that was the kind of dolly a person would use in their own home. It was not the appropriate dolly for moving gun safes and large filing cabinets - and, the moving company saw all of our items before they quoted our move. * Two of the four movers did most of the work...two didn't do much. * The movers damaged wooden ballisters and an entire wall from the home we were moving out of and damaged walls and trim in our new home. We had to pay for people to come in and fix the walls in our sold home before closing because the damage was so visible. * One of the movers set a glass door on a display cabinet on its edge, shattering the glass. Checking all of the glass places in Anchorage, we/they finally found a place outside of Anchorage who could drill the holes in the glass necessary for the handles on the display glass - we are talking about $300+++ to have just this one item fixed. *One of the owners showed up and finally brought the correct dolly to move the safes and file cabinets, but this was about 6pm at night. He did stay and get the movers going and the move finally finished about 10:30pm. *He "adjusted" the price, not charging for the "overtime." However, we wouldn't have had any overtime if he had the movers with the correct dolly and four movers who knew how to work, not just two of them. *Our costs for fixing the damage to our sold home, damages to our new home, glass replacement, etc. will run over $700+. *You have the option of paying an additional $300 when the movers show up and that will pay for any damage they do. We didn't do that because their "chief" mover said it never happens and it is a waste of money. We disagree. If you decide to use this company after this review, at least protect yourself and pay the extra $300 for the damages which they will cause. *We cannot recomment this company. What a great moving experience! We used Green Gorilla for an office move (more like an office clean-up since we had to get rid of all the furniture) and couldn't be happier. Josh, Johnny & AJ were professional, quick and extremely kind. Anna was very helpful and a great communicator. I really appreciated their flexibility after I locked us out of the office and everything got delayed by an hour :) They took care of everything - dropping off our out furniture at the ReStore and handling everything that couldn't be donated. I had a small job, moving 4, 6 foot tall solid oak book cases into my home from the couple's home who sold them to me. They were heavier than me and my friend could manage so I hired Green Gorilla to move them for me. They did have a 2 hour minimum, which ended up working out ok for me as I had other things they helped me move. The two movers who did the job were conscientious, and very diligent about not bumping or damaging anything. They took great care in wrapping the book cases and packing them well in the truck. They did a great job and I would definitely recommend them. read more

I needed to exchange a futon that I couldn't lift on my own. Green Gorilla Movers was one of the local options available - even though I was calling on a Sunday evening, I was able to make contact and schedule a time for them to help move and transport the futon out of my apartment the next day. My expectations were surprisingly surpassed; the movers were early, prompt, and friendly! I sincerely appreciated the communication prior to and during the process. They were also able to accommodate some last minute changes (driving to an entirely different side of town) so that I could get a new futon at another store location. I had been in polite communication, through emails, text, and he left a message to give me a quote for disposal services. I was about to agree with a $200 disposal service pick up fee + dumped disposal fee. When I questioned what vehicle he would use due to the municipality rates change based on residential and commercial vehicles to understand my price estimate. This fee can change from $17 to $73 if he was using a Uhaul type of vehicle for the services. All of a sudden his tone change and he decided that he could not provide services for me. If your business can't be upfront with quotes and prices, it does not perform safe business practices. We ended the conversation on a polite note, recommending I seek other services. Pros: The movers showed up on time, and other than one box which they lost or accidentally threw away everything got moved. Cons: The older fellow did very little actual work, the other guy packed the boxes and carried everything to the moving van. The older fellow spent the entire time mis-labelling boxes and overtaping boxes while the other guy did everything. I have a broken arm so I had to hire movers, and the property manager at the new place started later than usual that day so the movers arrived and then I drove to the new place to pick up the keys. The new place had to re-print some of the paperwork so I was gone more than an hour, when I got back to the old place the movers had only packed three or four medium size boxes. The movers lost my GCI router, it along with a few books disappeared in the move. The owner reimbursed me for the cost of replacing the router and the books are not valuable, but given that they took five hours and probably could have gotten everything packed and moved in three or three and half it is enough for me not to recommend them. Most of the boxes had eight or nine layers of tape on every edge and none were adequately labelled, making unpacking more work than it needed to be. The movers also got lost on the way to the new place and wanted to charge for an extra half hour (the extra half hour they spent making a ten minute drive) but I called the owner and he waived the half hour. They get a three star review because the owner drove over to help them unpack at the new place and did everything he could to make things right, but I would rather hire movers who get things right the first time and in a reasonable amount of time. read more
