John and Green Home Solutions recently did an outstanding job for me. As a brief backdrop in hopes this helps others, I have a mild case of asthma along with allergies. I developed a terrible cough just before Halloween and was having some significant issues with my respiratory system (severe wheezing, productive coughing, etc.). I saw my doctor who prescribed oral steroids and antibiotics over a period of a month but nothing was helping me. The problem lingered through the holidays and by the end of January I was exhausted and seriously concerned about my health. It's been a cold winter this season and as a result, I have remained indoors more than I normally would this time of year. However, one weekend I had several errands I needed to run and found myself outdoors for 7+ hours on a particular Sunday. I noticed at the end of the day that I was feeling much better and my respiratory problems had significantly improved. When I returned home, the problems resurfaced almost immediately. It became clear to me that there was something going on in my home that was causing my respiratory issues. Through trial and error, I determined that my coughing and severe wheezing was being triggered anytime I turned the heat on. I have two basement-based, natural gas HVAC systems (upstairs and main level units). The HVACs are 20+ years old and a year ago, I had humidifiers installed on both units to try and help with my respiratory issues. I had Green Home Solutions do a comprehensive home environmental assessment with a specific focus on the HVAC systems. John determined that the HVAC duct system was loaded with hard water dust from the humidifiers. Any time the furnaces were turned on, the hard water dust was circulating in my house and this is what John felt was causing my respiratory problems. I live in Highlands Ranch and apparently the water is very hard here with a lot of mineral content. He recommended that I have the entire ducting system professionally cleaned, the HVAC systems separately examined with a strong recommendation that I have the humidifiers removed as well as run an air scrubber in the house for a few days while and after the duct cleaning was done. I did as John recommended and have to say that within 24 hours of the duct cleaning being completed, I was effectively cured. The built up hard water dust that was circulating within my was definitely causing my issues. I can't thank him enough for the work that he did and the course of action he recommended I follow. I was at my wits end and wasn't sure I was going to be able to remain living in my house. Thanks to his work I have been able to put that concern away and enjoy living in my home again. More importantly, I'm breathing normally again at home and am no longer concerned about having a serious medical condition that, without his help, may have taken me down a long path of unnecessary medical procedures and prescriptions. read more

John carried out mold remediation services at our home prior to our purchase. His level of service, attention to detail, timeliness, commitment, and technical expertise are absolutely second to none. He worked tirelessly to remove all mold from the basement of the home and with incredibly quick turnaround times. Once finished, John diligently ran all tests to ensure the home was safe to occupy (running multiple tests for reassurance). A few weeks later, John proactively check in on us to ensure all was going well and to see if we had any questions. He provided additional insight to my questions (with extensive details and subject matter expertise, as always) and swung by the home for a final check-in. John inspected our home to investigate an odor we worried might be mold. He took his time and was very thorough. In the end we thankfully didn't have any mold. A couple of issues we did have related to carpet odor. Instead of taking advantage of the situation and using it to justify hiring his company, he instead recommended a more cost effective method for our situation. In the end, he spent a significant amount of time in our home for free. This speaks to John's honesty and ethical nature. I would not hesitate to use him in the future. read more

John and Brook were professional and friendly. We had a unique situation with which they were very patient and flexible. They went out of their way to coordinate with our insurance to get us the best possible settlement. They made sure all the work was done thoroughly and well, taking the time it needed. On the day that they came out to begin work, I fell and broke my kneecap and was in the hospital. After my return home, John even brought us two delicious meals to help us out!
