I ended up paying for the damages. I do not recommend any company that does not put the customer first and especially one that lies. The workers are careless and unethical, they said that if we called them directly that they could save us money next time if we ever decided to move again. I give them one star because I could not go lower.

So, since this was a pretty hefty move for me and I have a hectic schedule, I went with a moving company. Only did a little research as I had to choose quickly and Orlando Yelpers have not done many moving company reviews... Yet! A huge plus was it was a holiday and there was no additional charge. There was a flat rate for the first 2 hours which included the truck, gas etc. Then it was ~$71 each additional hour. They started at 8:15am and were complete by 12:30pm. They were extremely nice and personable, it was really a great delight to work with them. They took direction great and didn't take any breaks and think about how flippin' hot it is in FL. They took care of all the items with care and everything was delivered unharmed =) They really made the move so much less stressful than moves really are. While they were moving I was cleaning so it saved me SO MUCH time! I really recommend this company from the experience I have had. They are certified of course which is essential as well. One note : They did smoke outside while moving some things and I was a little worried about that since I am completely against smoking but I was so worried about getting things done so I didn't even say anything. I am sure they would have avoided it if I had said something but I wish they were a little more aware of their surroundings as they were handling my persona items.

Called JunkIt Plus and they worked with me and got me what I needed in a timely manner. Not only did were they cheaper, but they also let me keep the dumpster longer. Then when it came down to delivering the dumpster, they upgraded it to a larger size and kept the same negotiated price. Customer service has been easy to reach and responsive, they were prompt with providing the dumpster, they put wood underneath to protect the driveway, and have been great to work with throughout. This company - MANAGER CHARLES - dropped my wife's 100 year old heirloom piano off of the back of their truck. When we called to schedule the house move - CHARLES promised that they move pianos all the time. We have a regular piano mover that we typically use - but we were assured there would be no need to hire two sets of movers since we were moving the rest of our furniture too. My wife reiterated on the initial phone call, "this piano is like my 4th child. If you're not confident then please let me know, I'm happy to have our normal guy out." The reply - by CHARLES - was that they do it all the time. They DROPPED OUR PIANO OFF THE BACK OF THE TRUCK! I have video of CHARLES talking over my wife, who was in tears, that we were notified in writing ahead of time that this could happen, and while he couldn't confirm which piano we had - because he WOULDN'T come to the site - and because it is a century old hand crafted piece - he would pay 60 cents per pound for it to be repaired - up to 450lbs. UNBELIEVABLE! I asked him to come to the site to verify the damage - get a quote from my trusted piano repair man - and then I would pay the difference towards the move. More than fair in my opinion as a business owner myself. He replied, "I'm not coming out there. If you don't pay... I'll file suit." NEVER EVER EVER use this company. CHARLES can't be trusted.

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. I found Mr. Hurd's company on Thumbtack and, trusting it to be a reputable platform, paid in advance for moving services. Mr. Hurd communicated regularly--right up until moving day. Then, the day I needed him most, he completely ghosted me. No calls, no texts, nothing. I gave him all of Friday, Saturday, and most of Sunday to respond and make things right. He never did. He didn't even have the decency to offer me a refund. My family and I--none of us professional movers--had to rush to move everything ourselves in the rain. When I finally reached out again days later asking for a refund, he suddenly responded, promising to return my money. It's now been almost two days since that promise, and I still haven't seen a single cent. Do not trust this company. Save yourself the stress, disappointment, and financial loss. What Mr. Hurd did was not only unprofessional--it was flat-out unethical.

I like to support small business, and I understand that there may be a few hiccups given the lack of experience, but this move was worst than I could have imagined. I was asked what time I would like to schedule and I said 9am, they came at 10:30am. Not a problem, right? Life happens. Then the credit card machine didn't work. Not a problem, I used Venmo at their request. I even paid before they finished loading the truck at the FIRST home, because they needed the money for supplies or something. Then I stood there cringing as they dragged my wooden furniture across the house to the truck instead of properly wrapping the items and lifting them. The technique seem to be to hold as many tables/ stands at once so they didn't have to make multiple trips to the truck, hence the dragging, instead of taking them one at a time, or having two people lift an item, even though there was a three person team. They then had to continuously rearrange the truck for the furniture to fit, so they kept leaving all the furniture on the wet grass/ dirt outside. I STILL didn't say anything at this point. They also continually ask for supplies such as tape, bags for parts, and tools to dissemble the furniture. They did try their best to avoid taking apart furniture, they preferred twisting and turning them through the standard size doorway as much as possible. They were successful at times with the maneuvering but at the cost of the furniture being strained. My nursery recliner was stained and my wooden L-shaped desk was damaged at the seams. They struggled with dissembling my daybed and crib. Then when we arrived to the destination home, they couldn't find the parts to reassemble the furniture and blamed me for not "holding these parts,"which I wasn't even present for while the furniture was dissembled. They then wanted my husband to go back to initial location (30 minutes each way) to look for the missing parts. But guess what? They eventually found the parts in the only tool bag I saw them carry around. No apology just became disrespectful at this point. They had burned through the time allotted, and I finally voiced that I was unhappy with the service and told them we would assemble the furniture ourselves. They did not like this and became even more unprofessional and abruptly dropped the last of my stuff in the house. Thankfully my husband and I are pretty handy so we were able to reassemble the furniture with ease, even though they had combined the parts of the daybed and crib into one bag. Who does that? They did however scratch the paint on the walls of the new house, and broke my antique, marble lamp stand. Hope this review helps you all, especially the ladies in charge of organizing the household. I would not recommend this business to anyone with a multi room home or delicate furniture. If you are fine with brazen force and your furniture taking some hits, Hurd's Helpers may work for you, but otherwise look elsewhere for good service.
