I was not certain I would have to put my precious yellow lab to sleep that day, so my heart was shattered when it ended up happening. Walking away knowing I'd never see his tail wag or stroke his beautiful head again was devastating. It's been a mere five days, and my boy is back home after his private cremation by Green Oaks. We still miss him, and always will, but having his beautiful wooden container in our home is a balm for our broken hearts. When your pet dies, it's a very traumatic time, and so it was so comforting to call Green Oak Pet Memorials to handle all the arrangements...and to do so at a very fair price. I brought my 16 year old golden retriever to the office, but they would have just as well have picked him up (home or vet). Our family dog passed away recently on Sunday morning. It was very traumatic for our family. The owners came out on Sunday morning to pick him up. They were very caring and we were comfortable having them handle our family member. He came back to us in a nice package that we will always keep. I wanted an individual cremation that I could actually witness them putting the pet in and taking her out. I wanted my Goldie back, not a representative sample. They let me stop by to look it over before scheduling and explained the whole process. There is a nice viewing room that looks out to the cremation oven. It has a comfortable chair, LED candles, tissues and soft light in case you don't want to be seen sobbing as they put your little angle in. I took her home with me a few hours later. Staff was warm and sensitive to my grief. I would recommend these people to anyone. read more
