The Wings of Peace statue celebrates Edward the VII, the Peacemaker, who brought peace between Britain and France after 1000 years of conflict. The walk through the Garden is beautiful and quiet with a glimpse of the Pulteney Bridge to the West. There are a few benches to sit.

Its a good place for a picnic and you can walk through the park's gardens from the entrance in the centre of Bath to the large adventure playground and skateboard park on the other side of the park. I would recommend this park to anyone visiting Bath, especially if you have children.

The main pool is pretty standard, if a bit old now, but it's fine if you just want to come and swim lengths. There's also a waterslide, which is alright for younger kids, but it's certainly not enough to upgrade the pool to leisure status. The squash courts are okay, again fairly standard, but if you visit before 5pm on a weekday then they're basically empty, so you can easily stay for longer than your time slot if you should so desire. Which is good, considering that 45 minutes costs £7.40.

The pre- and post-workout vibe is pampered. You don't have to wipe down your bike or even bin your towel after class, and instead get to go straight to the wonderful showers with their organic soaps and shampoos and all the skincare and general toiletries you need to get back to the office. The luxurious sense of effortlessness does not extend to the workout, which is as challenging as you make it. High efford is no doubt encouraged by the live scoreboard showing everyone's watts and ranking- kind of like Zwift, but face to face and with a better shower after. It's an alias username on the board and you can opt out of the board entirely if competition is not your thing. Final note, I appreciated how the soundtrack enhanced the effort without getting in the way or drowning out the instructor.

If you could take a single snapshot of Bath to forever remember it by, do so from Alexandra Park…read more It offers the single most captivating, magnificent, sweeping, view of the entire city. The 11+ acre park, located at the top of Beechen Cliff, offers a variety of normal park-like things to do: you could bring a picnic, go for a stroll, walk your pup, lean against one of the many beautiful old trees and read a book, stretch out on their lawns, or enjoy the play area with your kiddos. But whatever you do: slow down, stop a minute, and take in that glorious panoramic of the city in her entirety. You can make your way straight to the view itself by driving up Shakespeare Avenue from Wells Road (there's on-street parking and plenty of benches you can sit at), or take Jacob's Ladder (a very long, very steep flight of steps). Parking is free, admission is free, and so is the picture perfect (mental) postcard you'll take away too.

There were many employees, most of them were axe throwing or standing behind the bar. We waited at the entrance for a bit before my partner went up to an employee at the axe throwing area to ask if we could be directed to the Crazier Golf. He led us to the back and said, "I'll be back to give you instructions." Forty-five minutes later (so now an hour past our booking), my partner found him axe throwing again and asked if we could just get the putters and balls, and we could figure it out from there. And that's exactly what happened. He begrudgingly left axe throwing, walked to the back of the room, handed us golf balls, then left. Online it says, "You might have played Crazy Golf... but you've never seen it this Crazy. Catapults, loops, conveyors, we've got it all. Don't be afraid to bring a bevvy on the course... all the best players give their best performance after some Dutch courage." Nine holes, takes about forty-five minutes. It took us maybe ten (then again, we had the course entirely to ourselves). It was so much less fun than advertised. The course has seen some serious wear and tear; every putter, every golf ball, every surface was sticky with alcohol. Maybe we're not the demographic for this. I see other people love it; we don't. There's better ways to spend your time in this beautiful city!
