I'm a first-time homeowner with a modest budget, converting my home into a zero-emissions building. EIS was recommended to me over and over again. I got quotes from multiple companies, but only EIS's sales guy, Ian, did a tour of the whole property and listened to me talk at length about how I intended my installation to work with the other systems of my soon-to-be fully electrified home. I had deliberately bought a house with a south-facing yard so that I could do a ground mounted install in addition to the roof. Ian told me they could install a ground mounted system themselves, but it would look more industrial and possibly out of place in my small yard. But if I built my own backyard pergola structure, it would look more like something that belonged in my small backyard (and it would be cheaper). As I'm sure he knows, an installer would make more money, faster, if they didn't tell me that. I respected his decision to tell me, and it's why EIS won my business. I'd never built a pergola before. I couldn't use a kit, because I needed it to fit the specific constraints of my yard, the angle of the Sun, the zoning maximum height limit, the minimum property line setback, the minimum height before I'd hit my head, etc. I had to design it myself. The panels were in metric and the lumber was in imperial. EIS corresponded with me in detail throughout at least nine or ten revisions, all before they'd received any money other than my token down payment, and - though it would have been easier and more money for them - they did not ask me to reverse course and pay them to build the support structure themselves. There was another hurdle in the process. We had trouble finding me a lender. Although I have a mortgage, aside from that, I don't really go into debt. I buy everything in cash. That means I had no credit history. You'd think that would mean my credit would be perfect, but the American credit score system was designed by concussed cave trolls. Although I had the savings and income to cover what I needed to pay back a loan - and I was not by any means the poorest client EIS had ever worked with - it was hard for EIS to find me a lender. Again, it would have been easy for them at this stage to simply abandon the project and move on to more profitable clients. They didn't do that. They found me a lender, and we worked it out. I now have a working rooftop and ground mounted installation supplying my home with more than 14 kilowatts of power: enough for all my future electric appliances, plus an electric car. Today, it was cloudy and rained all day, and I still generated more power than I used. If I'd just wanted a rooftop install, EIS could have been done in a couple months. But my more thorough requirements created a lot more work for them. Now that it's done, I'm very glad we did it all. I will be calling EIS again as soon as I am ready to install batteries in a couple of years.

I was instructed to provide a receipt for the damages, which resulted in the need for a new pool liner. Now, Dan Taylor claims it is scientifically impossible for nails or debris to damage a pool liner. If the company had simply tarped my backyard, none of this would have happened. The attached picture shows debris caught by my solar skimmer on the day my roof was installed by TaylorMade Solutions. However, based on density, most common roofing materials sink in water since they are denser than it--this is scientifically proven. I am still waiting for Dan to contact the pool company that installed my liner for further insight into the cause of the pool damage. I provided their contact information to Dan on August 11th. I am at a loss for words. Consumer beware: If you are combining a new roof with your solar package, I recommend researching the contractor before adding them to your solar contract. I also suggest following up with your solar company--Palmetto in my case--to inform them about the poor customer service I experienced while waiting for a resolution. I am out $6,533.62, plus additional costs for refilling the pool.

We had a large project and knew the price was a little higher than some previous contractors we know, but thought if Palmetto trusts in his work and he's that familiar with the project requirements we would stick with their recommended installer to get the job done. The work crews did some minor damage to the downspouts, but nothing we were upset about. The problem is, they didn't complete the work. Over one window some fascia was left off and left the underneath exposed, another piece was uneven, some joints were uneven, and some gaps were left between the brick and fascia. I trusted Dan to have his crew return to repair these minor issues, and tried working with him for over a year, accepting his promises that they're just busy and he'll get to it. Couldn't have been more patient. All wasted breath. Very disappointed in the breakdown of communication and lack of respect for a $50k plus roofing job being completed correctly. These are minor things that could be done in a half day at best, and yet here I am leaving a review. So now I need Palmetto to intervene, or pay another roofer to fix the work and file in small claims court. Disappointing.

First, I would like to thank Joe Marticek for his Professionalism and the great job that he did in explaining everything that would happen. Every time I had any questions or concerns, he would get back with me promptly. I would consider myself a pretty good DIY'er, but after seeing everything that needed to happen to install my Solar system, I am glad I decided to just go with the Professionals. They provided me with a very detailed Engineered drawings of the entire system and its layout. Submitted and got approval for the permits that were required and then did 3 electrical inspections after the installation with the final inspection being from my local power company Duquesne Light. Everything passed with flying colors the 1st time. Before meeting with Joe and deciding to go with Boom POW Solar I had tried dealing with a few other fly-by-night solar companies that would just give me a quicky estimate, but that is all I would get with no explanation of what my options were and then I would not get any follow-up. So, to put it as simply as I can, "Joe, made my solar project happen from the beginning to the end". You can tell when you work with Joe that he is going to be in this business for a long time and that he enjoys what he is doing. I am not completely sure of the entire area that Joe takes care of, but I do know that if you are in the Western PA area, you really need to give him a call before committing to a solar project with any another company. With the rising costs of electric and the uncertainly of the future pricing it is nice to feel like I am somewhat in control of my own energy needs for the next 25-30 years. I highly recommend "Boom POW Solar" for meeting all of your Solar power needs.
