As someone who doesn't drive and never had the desire to (even though I was of age to do so before…read moregraduated licensing) the way that I get around is my trusty B.M.W (Bus, Metro, Walk... or in london that means Taxi's instead of Metro). For years the taxi scene was two companies: Abouttown & U-Need-A now known as Blue & White and Yellow & Black respectively. Then came Checker which was a little more on the pricy side but flat-rate and cleaned up cars. Now in the era of Uber there are many more companies vying for your cab dollar then ever before. We have Green Taxi which was alright when I took it but the driver was a bit off putting for us and we weren't sure all the cabs were like that so we didn't venture far from the two standards in the city for the longest time. Then came one fateful day downtown when we called for our preferred choice: Blue & White and were told it would be a 30 min wait because they were all less than a block away from us waiting for train passengers. Umm... okay, so waiting on fares that may or may not use them versus someone standing on a street who actually wants one??? I was confused but figured okay all the taxis must be busy so we agreed to wait. On an off chance we spotted a yellow taxi go by, we'd never taken them before but figured we'd flag it down and take our chances. I called the dispatcher back for the other company and told them to cancel my cab because I didn't want to be 'that person' (to which I was told they hadn't dispatched one anyways... guess we would have been waiting longer huh??) The taxi got us to our desination faster than I've ever seen and not even driving recklessly. Plus the fare came to $5 under our usual price that we budgeted out for the ride. From that day forth we've continued to go yellow only. Always getting a low rate, always getting where we are going fast and even most times they know it's us calling and even call back if they arrive before we get downstairs to greet them to let us know they are waiting. In a pinch I'll grab another if I have to but I've never waited longer than 10 minutes for one of their cabs so they are my taxi of choice in town right now.

The driver deliberately took circuitous routes through two subdivisions. When I finally called him on it after he had driven in circles in Whitehills, I was driven to my destination. All he had to offer as an explanation when I told him Uber was definitely a better choice was that they (taxi drivers in London) had to try this tactic to make a living!! I am a 75 year old woman and he clearly thought he could take advantage of me. Absolutely unacceptable behaviour. No reputable company should condone this practice. This taxi company is awful! My sister is disabled, walking with a cane and unable to walk any…read moredistance. She called Your Taxi in London, Ontario for a ride to the nearby mall so she could shop. The driver of Cab # 29 was incredibly rude to her! He said "Oh my God, you can't walk that?!?!" when she told him where she was going (despite seeing her enter his cab with her cane!). He complained that it was "only a $5 cab ride!" and then proceeded to take a longer route to get more money off of her. When my sister called Your Taxi to report the driver's behaviour, the person on the phone stated "they would put notes on her account to not have that driver again". This driver should be disciplined! This is unacceptable!! Do NOT use this company. Ignore the fact that their fares are "lower"; as they give you sub-standard treatment and treat the disabled with rudeness and act like it's an inconvenience of their life to take them to a short distance. Never ever use this company!!

A driver almost caused a potentially deadly accident earlier this evening on Richmond street…read more He was driving very reckless and after the near collision he continued to drive at a walking pace during a green light, making traffic behind him unable to move. This was very disrespectful and he had 2 young women in the backseat of the vehicle. This was not safe and reliable for the customers. I am very disappointed in his behavior and the Aboutown company as he reflected extremely negative on your service. I'm sure you receive complaints about drivers but this was unforgivable. I have no choice but to boycott Aboutown taxi service and will be spreading the word of mouth to all of my family, friends, and co-workers to not use your service. Also when I made my reservation 5 weeks before my return to Toronto they advised me to take the 9:30pm bus back to Windsor and said if I get thru customs before 4:30pm I may get on the 5 pm bus BUT it was full and here I sit for 5 and a half hrs with expecting to also sit in London for over 2 hrs. They didnt offer to put my luggage in their booth at the airport or offer to help me findalternate travel arrangements home. So expect my return trave to he another 7 hrs on top of my 5 and half wait in an airport hallway. THANK YOU.

Really kind driver answered all of our questions about Simcoe and the surrounding area, and was very polite even though we were only travelling a short distance and weren't a big fare.
