This is the worst mortgage company ever! They recently took over servicing of my loan for my prior mortgage company, who were just fine. I only found out about Green Tree two weeks ago, when I received their billing information; now they're calling and harassing me about my payment that was due the beginning of April! (today is April 30). I didn't even know about Green Tree assuming my loan until I started receiving calls from them. This company needs to train their employees. They have no idea what they are talking about when reviewing accounts. I spoke to 3 different people and received 3 different answers. When I got upset I was told I was the one in the wrong. I feel I had the right to be upset since there was a lot of time wasted and still no resolve. Get your money OUT OF THIS COMPANY!!!!! This company took over my account from Citi Mortgage last year. While dealing with Citi was pleasant and their employees courteous and well trained, I can't say the same for Green Tree. When they took over my mortgage, they claimed they never received the first payment. IN fact, they had misapplied the first payment to the next month, along with that month's payment. Stupid. Now I have discovered that when I pay additional principal on a monthly payment, they are not applying it, but holding the money in limbo somewhere. I tried emailing them at teh address on the statement, but the address does not work. I will call them and attempt to get it resolved. My advice is to stay away from them. read more

Hate to even give them one star. This is the worst business I have ever had to deal with. Makes Comcast customer service look spectacular. They hold you hostage by servicing your single largest investment, your home - and they lie and overcharge and are nasty. Send only generic letters out when you contact them, and then only 30 days after you have submitted via their fax or more like 45 days when you have mailed them. Rude on the phone, untrained and frustrating. Even worse.... In March 2015, Ditech, along with Walter Investment affiliate Green Tree Servicing, announced the two would undergo a co-branding effort to become "Ditech Financial, A Walter Company," bringing Walter's origination and servicing entities together under one, recognizable brand name. The transition will conclude in the second half of 2015. I also had the same terrible issues with Green Tree Customer service. Every person is prohibited from giving you their last name, an employee number or a direct extension. Therefore, each time you call you have to deal with another person who gives you different information. When my mortgage was accidentally paid twice by my bank they stalled and keep asking for obviously unnecessary documentation from me and my bank on each call. Many of the service agent are rude even before they start to anger you. Stay away from them at all costs! read more

This is the WORST MORTGAGE COMPANY EVER!!!!!!! They give you not the right information about your mortgage, you don't get the same answers you call can back and get someone else and they give you a different answer from the first person you call. They don't know how to do business, One person was like yelling at me when I told her I wanted to speak with a supervisor she told me that I could but that is not going to change anything. Never sign up with Ditech / Green Tree Mortgage if you can use someone else, anyone else, do it. I have been with 3 different mortgage brokers and Green Tree Mortgage is the most garbage company with the worst staff, worst customer service, and they are borderline scam company. If I could I would take that one star back. Awful company. My loan was sold to Ditech, and we closed on the property in March, it's now mis July and I am still chasing my escrow check. I call every week, and every time I call a new request for a reissue gets put in. I spoke with two supervisors and one the , Laura, gave me her direct extension #, and told I can call anytime I have a question. I called 5 times, she never answers her phone and never returned my calls. I spoke with an another supervisor and was told, that this second supervisor deleted all previous requests and sent a expedited email the department that issues the checks. Guess what, no check yet. Absolutely awful company. I am outraged, I waste 20 minutes everyday calling and explaining, and I get nowhere with them. read more

Ditech will get you sent to a collection agency if you allow them to handle your escrow account. Four times now, starting two months ago, I've made calls to Ditech's tax department to get them to pay the (now seriously delinquent) tax bill they were supposed to pay four months ago. Each time, I was assured the issue would be handled. Now, I am receiving letters from an attorney who has been assigned to handle collections for the county of Fairfax. Today, when I asked to speak with a supervisor (whom, I was told, is the only person who knows how to handle this situation), I was told that he or she was in training all day and wouldn't be able to speak with me for 48 hours. Ditech apparently has little concern for the credit rating of its customers. I would recommend a different loan company if you choose to have your taxes paid via escrow account. read more

Worst lying company ever!! Out to get your money! Every employee there gives you a different story. What is the point of having a compound payment when your payment changes? They don't care about you all they care about is getting your money!!!! I don't even know how this company is still in business when all they have is bad reviews! I am not the only one! By far the worst mortgage company!!!!!! Bought 7 houses the last few years, this was one of a kind experience in hardship and annoying. They sent me a bill instead of greeting , the bill was not even accurate because I already made the payment for that bill to previous mortgage company, Carrington , green tree bought the mortgage and before waiting for papers and payments to finalize they generated a bill. False bill!!! They suggested for me to make double payment for the same month , one that was made to Carrington and transferring and one to them because they cannot wait. I did not sell or bought the mortgage , I ended with 3 days of stressful calls for over an hour each with no results!!! Take ur money and run from them , they have no clue about laws or what they are doing!!!! 3 ways to describe them is , unprofessional, poorly trained customer service, indifference to what can be done to fix the problem. Your experience buying a coffee at 7 eleven would be more professional than dealing with green tree mortgage on the phone. read more

OMG people don't do business with these pseudo professionals!!!!! Green Tree AKA Ditech!!!!! They are dishonest, deceiving, totally unfeeling, rude nasty and just don't care!! This cult talked me into applying for a loan modification! Well i applied in july 2015! On Sept 29 i got a call from Ditech telling me i had been APPROVED! Well it's now April 2016 and all they've done me is string me along ( probably just to get me to pay my mortgage )with lies! They had me mail the SAME documents over and over, and if i voiced an opinion, they would hang up on me!! They even harass me by calling me and letting it ring only twice, then hang up! This way i can't track who called me! SO i've more or less given up! But i just want everyone to know that when i either file for bankruptcy, or default on my loan, Ditech COULD have prevented it!!!!!!!! People please notify the FTC if these D B's are messing with your life, and just remember KARMA!!!!! read more
