Due to lack of continuity of staff and curriculum, test scores are continuously low. Many layers of administration: everything appears to be micromanaged. Special services for students are difficult to access due to 'data collection' and 'documentation' that takes months. No library for students (it is there, but the space is used as a meeting room, while books sit unused on shelves). Entire school seems disorganized and unsure of what they are trying to accomplish due to too many 'new' programs and procedures that seem to change yearly.

So, if I HAD to complain about something inside the school it would be that. They seem to be a little TOO trusting when it comes to who is picking up children. Parking is minimal, the after school pick up is ALWAYS chaotic. Arrive early, secure close parking and you're fine. Drop off is crazy, as well. Mainly because not all the parents follow the rules and think their child is the only one getting dropped off. Mrs. Ortega (the new principal) is stern and fair. I think the communication with parents and faculty could be A LOT better.

It's still my job and I'll be getting it back as part of all of this. Which I advised them of, in May 2025. I was harassed by one teammate, almost from the start. I had evidence and admin saw it on more than one occasion, but even after a no contact agreement and multiple violations on his part, they did nothing, even claiming they knew I was lying or making unsubstantiated claims. My other teammate seemed nice, was there when I was dealing with some hard stuff. She invited me to her church, invited me to join, helped me move closer to work/church. And then she used it as a reason to abuse me at work; I wasn't doing it right or to her satisfaction. She made threats around causing me to lose church and/or my job, starting in Sept 2024. I tried to avoid and not engage, while she continued to escalate. In Jan 2025, I said I no longer wanted to be speaking to her unless it was necessary for work. What she escalated to admin was a church issue. They put us on a restricted communication contract, requiring a 3rd party on all face-to-face and emails, she violated it 3 times within the first day. Compliance stepped in with another contract, but neglected to say a 3rd party needed to be present. In that sense, we both violated it, but she was repeatedly speaking to me on stuff that was borderline at best. Compliance did nothing, but she reported me once, I was put on admin leave. Come to find out she said joining the church was me stalking her, knowing that isn't something you can take away because you changed her mind,thankfully have evidence against most of her lies, but even after it seemed I was fired, she's still forcing me to go through an investigation. EEOC (541-2025-02884, investigation religious discrimination, discrimination based on sex, creating a hostile work environment retaliation), raised some good questions: Why, if I was reporting her before she reported me, why wasn't she put on leave? Why, weren't both of us put on leave, if we both made that complaint, while the truth was determined? Why wasn't the other teammate put on leave to investigate him over far more violations. Admin playing favorites, oh yes. EEOC and cease and desist in place to stop them working to fill my position. Multiple violations already.

This is the Elementary school I've attended for over the years until 5th grade. Though this school…read morehad its up and downs for me, the teachers were my best friends. The nurse was nice, and the food was decent. They had lots of fun games, learning centers and perfect techniques for helping their students exceed in all important school material. Ms. Gartrell was my teacher, she was so sweet. In second grade, I had Mrs. Jones (that's her married last name) and in fifth grade, I had Mrs. Macintyre !! Ms. Polk was funny and made lunch great for us. The computer teacher was kicking butt, though his breath constantly smelled like cigarettes. Cool guy though. The whole school was awesome and helped me succeed under the realities of the world. Oh God, I just remembered: Ms. Lordiay (bear with me I forgot to spell her last name) was crazy, but I'm glad I had her as a teacher. I also remember the art teacher there, she was so beautiful and I won an art contest because of her. I loved the drama class as well as music!! I forgot the teachers name but she had an accent. I miss them all!

Administration consistently prioritizes the school's reputation over student well-being. Severe Bullying & Dismissed Violence Bullying is very rampant, and administrators sweep physical fights under the rug. My child was punched in the face during a PE activity of tag for catching another student in the game, which leadership dismissed as an "accident." On multiple occasions, another student hit my child under direct teacher supervision; the teacher did not care, and leadership dismissed it as well. These are not isolated incidents but is instead a culture actively fostered. Physical Staff Outbursts Some teachers get physical with students. A school counselor violently yanked a desk, causing a student to fall. Another teacher pulled multiple students' arms. Despite video verification and multiple student reports, that teacher is still employed. Administration only offered to switch the reporting students' classes rather than taking disciplinary action even after receiving video verification through school security cameras. Academic Neglect & Discouragement There are many kindhearted and great teachers but we have experienced many that were in favor of the bare minimum. They assign excessive homework on content barely or even completely uncovered in class, straining parents. When my student advocated for tutoring in a challenging subject as they received in the past before, their teacher completely rejected them. After I stepped in to tutor my child at home, the teacher explicitly accused my child of cheating multiple times and destroyed their confidence in a subject they were trying hard to master. Unreported Missing Students During student dismissals, multiple students have gone missing. Administration hides these incidents. While waiting for my own child who was released late, I witnessed teachers frantically searching for two missing students (one a kindergartener) who had left school grounds. The school never communicated this to the parents, likely because the affected family did not speak English. Hypocritical Food Confiscation Under the guise of "healthy eating," staff completely confiscates students' lunches and snacks without warning, including whole-food snacks and PB&Js. Disturbingly, leadership admitted these snacks are given to the staff to eat because "the staff works so hard" when students questioned why staff can eat unhealthy things but the students can't. Confiscated lunches are never replaced, leaving children hungry, even though the cafeteria serves the exact same items. When students point this out, staff has told them that it's not PB&J sandwiches they're serving, but sunflower butter ones which is contrary to their school menu that states they serve both in their cafeteria. On another occasion, staff was selling chip bags and then confiscating the same chip bags later since they were unhealthy. This hypocritical policy meant to "demonstrate school health guidelines" is only selectively enforced based on opportunistic gain rather than from a place of genuine concern for student wellbeing. Inappropriate Political & Ideological Pressure Staff aggressively pushes personal political ideologies on young children. During a gender discussion, my 6th grader stated she was happy being a girl. The teacher targeted her in front of the class, stating, "Are you sure? That's kind of boring, you can be a boy too," repeatedly putting her on the spot. In another incident, a teacher asked students who their parents voted for, then declared to the class that all white ethnic people are racist and that they would never vote for a white politician. This school jeopardizes child safety for appearances, fosters unchecked bullying, permits physical outbursts from staff, and pressures children with political speech and peer pressure. Parents, please talk to your kids about what is really happening in school.

However all the current kids are getting ignored. Only one parent teacher conference a year? Teachers care less! Teach less, my kids have told me how they watch youtube in numerous occasions throughout the years. Middle school kids are treated as in elementary still. We have many days off from school! Not much homework or know whats going on in school other then charity stuff going on. Oh they have plenty!! School safety is a huge concern here. They don't follow safety procedures because they say they have a few. I've put it to a test and past right tru it like nothing. However My kids have had a few decent caring teachers that Im very grateful for many left already but a few are still there. This will be our last year in Mcglone not only because we have relocated but its not worth driving my kids here anymore.
