A new principal this year is working hard with the school and community to ensure that SJCS becomes more in tune with the community and has done a lot of work to give the school a face lift over the summer. Parent involvement is high and activities are provided after school and on weekends, both for students and parents. Many children use this as a stepping stone to work their way in to local public schools, but several stay all the way through graduation to high school, and alumni often come back to help out in various ways.
