Ancient and modern stylishly combine in this B&B set within a 19th century church in the mountain village of Capel Curig. There are four stylishly designed, comfortably sized, en-suite rooms, two with hand-carved four-poster beds and two twins. There are another two doubles with shared bathroom one of which has a sofa bed that is popular with families. A bunkroom with four beds is ideal for walkers and climbers as well as being a favorite with teenagers. The room is shared; as are the slightly bracing bathroom facilities, but the view to the Carneddau Mountains and access to all the other facilities - including a drying room - make this a bunkroom with a difference.

The historic town of Conwy is located just across the Conwy estuary and the resorts of Llandudno and Colwyn Bay are both about five miles away. The entrance is a bit blink and you'll miss it but this isn't a place that will rely on passing trade. This is the ideal place for a relaxing break as it offers spectacular views down the Conwy Valley towards Snowdonia and is off the beaten track with no passing traffic. The rooms are all very well appointed. It's also easy to get being only about a mile or so from the A55. The only downside is that they no longer serve food. This is a great place to spend a couple of nights if you can afford it.

It's got everything you'd want whether you like to DIY in the kitchen, or if you not that way inclined, then just pop across the road to the wheatsheaf. The kitchen/living room is well equipped (we enjoyed a superb home cooked dinner) and the living room is comfortable. The bedroom is upstairs and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped with a good choice of bathing products (just in case you forgot your own). We only booked short notice, so the cottage was not available on the last night, so we switched to the B&B. The room was large and the equipped with the usual : Sky TV, Tea Making, etc. The beds were comfortable. The owners , Tim & Kerry are very friendly and Tim cooks a fab English Breakfast! Will definitely be returning next time we visit North Wales.

It is a grade 2 listed 400 year old traditional Welsh Farm house situated in heart of the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. The cottage is oak beamed with slate floors on a 60 acre Welsh hill farm overlooking the sea and Shell Island. It has a Crog loft with 3 interconnecting bedrooms and a bathroom. Down stairs there is a living room with wood burning stove, a dinning room (with a wood burning stove) and a modern fitted kitchen. The cottage is secluded and approached down a 1/2 mile private drive, yet it is only a mile from the village of Llanbedr. The Barn Conversion named Ty Gwenol sleeps eight.. This is a conversion of two barns dating from the 17th century with many original features and extensive exposed beams and oak floor. It has a large modern farmhouse kitchen/diner and the lounge has the original high barn ceiling with the exposed A frame timbers. There are 4 twin bedrooms in all. Bedroom 1 is upstairs in the main barn and has exposed beams. Bedroom 2 is situated downstairs has an adjoining shower room with wash basin and toilet. Bedroom 3 is in the new extension. Bedroom 4 has a high original oak beamed ceiling with an ensuite shower room, washbasin and toilet. This bedroom also features a kitchenette and is the room we often choose if available as this also has its own separate entrance. There is also a full sized bathroom with shower over the bath. Outside is a patio area and lawned garden overlooking farmland and the coast. Through the woods to the back is a large stone circled fire pit and if you ask Roger and Lesley nicely you may even get an night under the stars round a camp fire. There is parking for 3 cars I will be totally transparent and say this farm is owned by a member of my family and although you may expect a little bias, I am reviewing this after staying in all of the parts of the farm, talking to countless guests and hoping that others more unconnected with the family will back this review up. Many of the people I have met staying at the same time as me have been there before, booking once or twice a year and returning regularly. I think the accommodation is great value for money, the surroundings beautiful and the spot is a great base for exploring North Wales. Should you also want to do some adventure activities, Roger and Les can cater there too!

Its a really well appointed appartment for two people, with a spacious lounge, nice kitchen with fridge, electric cooker and microwave and one bedroom. The lounge has the basic sky tv package so after a hard day on the hills you can veg out in front of some junk tv! Its only a three minute walk into the centre of Betws y Coed with all the amenities it offers. Only one thing was disappointing really - there is no bathroom as such, there is a toilet with wash basin off the lounge, and in the bedroom there is what is described as a 'double' shower but in reality is just a large cubicle with a very temperamental electric shower - don't expect to soak your aching bones in a bath after a hard day's mountain walking!

We ate here twice, easily the best food in the local vicinity and the atmosphere is especially suited to cold wintry nights. We had the homemade Steak & Ale pie and Slow braised Lamb Hock, both were divine. This is not fine dining but British classics using excellent local ingredients and executed wonderfully. I imagine this is the kind of fare that the local folk and the farming community have been getting for centuries but virtually impossible to find for us city slickers The perfect reward after conquering Snowdon!

The hotel is a B&B as well as a very popular restaurant. Betws-y-coed is a gateway to Snowdonia, the national park which is a must visit if you're in the area. If you stay some place else, you must try to get a reservation to the restaurant. And getting a reservation on a Friday and a Saturday looked like a hard thing to do. The food is excellent, well served. The breakfasts are amazing. The ambience in the somewhat cramped environment is charming. The hotel itself is very well run. The staff, and in particular Rob (?) and the owners son whose name we forgot to get, were all very professional and friendly. They do have wifi but it does not extend into the rooms unfortunately. Which means we had to go and sit in the tiny lobby to get a good signal. But it is there and it is free. The rooms are small and most come with en suite bathrooms. Some rooms look like they have the bathroom across the hall but are dedicated to a single room. Everything was clean and well taken care off though not new. The lamps are low. I'm not tall and it was easy to brush my head against the chandelier. Mattress was comfortable, room was warm, the shower had good pressure, tea and coffee provided. The outer walls to this hotel are thick. The walls between rooms are thin so noise travels easily. My wife could hear the guy next door snoring. I easily rose to the challenge and out-snored him according to her. One of the main drawbacks to the hotel is that it is right on the street. And a busy one at that during the day. And by right on the street I mean you have to watch traffic carefully as you walk next to the hotel. Traffic noise does seep in but traffic dies down at night to pick up again in the morning. It wasn't a problem for me. If you're sensitive, then a room on the back of the hotel might be better. I liked my view of the river from our window. It's a little walk across a bridge to get to the town but it's not a big deal. Definitely go to the restaurant for an evening meal. You won't be sorry. I really enjoyed staying here and recommend it to anyone.

We…read morehappened upon the Royal Victoria Hotel and nearly crashed a both a wedding reception and kid's birthday. The kiddie party provided us with entertainment with a bouncy castle and whatnot. The beer was cold and well kept and the real live garden was really lovely. No complaints.
