FIRST OFF ALL, I SHOULD HAVE READ THE RECENT REVIEWS. I needed Limo service from the Norfolk Airport to the Cruise Port on 9/2/23. After looking at the web site, I placed a request for transportation. I was given a fee of $88.12 for the one-way fee. I placed a comment that I would be interested in a return service on 9/10/23, from the Cruise Port to the Airport. I was initially charged the $88.12, and received documentation via my email. I provided my flight information with a pick-up time of 1230PM. We arrived at the airport and had our luggage pick-up at 1225PM. I was unable to find anyone from Greenbrier in the baggage area. Around 1240PM. I was able to find a phone number from a Goggle search and spoke with a Michael, asking where was the driver? Michael sent me a Text message with the phone of Dave, the driver. I called Dave who asked where we located and if we had our luggage. I advised we were at the Southwest Baggage Claim area, as mentioned on my initial reservation. A few minutes later I heard someone call out my last name from local CAB Company vehicle. Dave advised that he sometimes picks-up fares for Greenbrier. The vehicle was a SUV, with trash in the front passenger seat and luggage area, where I placed the luggage. The driver's seat was either slightly broken as it leaned back into the rear seat where I was seated. I opened the passenger sliding door for my wife. I went to the drivers side sliding door on the drivers side, which was hard to open; Dave said give the door a harder pull. During the trip the A/C must not have worked as the front windows were open for air. After getting on the ship I sent a text to Michael advising of my displeasure of the arrangements, feeling I did not receive the type service shown on his website. During the cruise we booked a LIFT ride from the Cruise Port to the Airport as I was not going to use Greenbrier. After we arrived back in Norfolk, on 9/10/23,I got a text from from Michael which came into my phone on 9/9/23, that an Uber had been set up for 9/10/23. I replied that I would not need his service. After returning home I found that another $88.12 had posted to my credit card account on 9/2/23. Since we were traveling I was unaware of any charge, nor did I authorize a charge for a return service. I sent an email to Michael disputing the additional charge. Michael's response was that i had ask for return service and that he had set up with Uber to make sure we had a "BETTER" vehicle, although, he found no problem wit the Dave's vehicle. After reading the other reviews and Michael's response to those complaints, it gives me a good idea of how he handles customer concerns and complaints and I question his business practices. read more

I usually don't write reviews but there several red flags with this company I didn't pay attention prior to booking. Beware !!!!! Do not book with this company. First you cannot contact this company by phone once you book. They pick and choose when and if they respond to messages. I booked with this company online on 12 July 2022. Estimated rate was given. I booked and was charged. I was picked up and they started the meter. I thought it was weird so I asked him about it and he stated that he knew nothing about the online booking. I showed him my information and he still said he had no information on that. I was charged again. The fact that this company doesn't have a process together to know that I booked and paid online isn't good business practice. When I e-mailed they responded after 3 days I spoke about the issue and then they disappeared. From the reviews this is not the first time this has happened and they are not accountable enough to address your concerns with urgency or even at all. From what I see online they are quick to respond after you leave a negative review. Maybe I'll get my money back since I am unable to contact them or get a response by e-mail. read more

Called to reserve a taxi for an early morning flight (4:30a.m.), then my travel itinerary changed, so I called to cancel the taxi the evening prior (7p.m.). My account still got zapped for a $17.50 "cancellation fee", which WAS NEVER MENTIONED when I called to reserve OR cancel, and does not appear to be on any tab on the website at all. Would have been nice to know my $27.00 ride was still going to cost me $17.50-even if I didn't use it. Total Garbage. Way to earn the 2-star rating currently on Yelp, Greenbrier Taxi. I will not return, and guarantee I will spread the word to all my friends. Way to bone an ACTIVE DUTY Military member who was travelling, and had no control over an itinerary change. Michael Hammer arrived on time Sunday July 26, 5:45 am for a 1 mile ride to Norfolk airport. When I made the reservation July 25, Michael said the cash price was $32.50 and if I used a credit card, there would be 5% added to the cost. I told Michael I would pay in cash. He needed a credit card number anyway. When dropped off at Norfolk airport, I gave Michael $35 in cash. I checked my credit card statement immediately. Michael had debited my account $45.58 on Sunday July 26. This was the same day I gave him $35 cash. On July 27th, I called Michael Hammer to dispute the charge. He gave me a phone number to have charge removed. Got a recorded message. Michael indicated he was very busy but would try to get the charge removed. read more

DO NOT GIVE THESE THIEVES YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!! No one ever arrived the following morning. I called the company and got a "uh...I don't know what happen...". They said they could send a car but it would be 30+ minutes. I cancelled that car, because I was on pace to miss my flight, and they charged my credit card, on file for a business transaction THAT NEVER HAPPENED, for a cancelation fee. A company cannot use a credit card on file for whatever transaction they feel like! I have reported them to my credit card company and the BBB. I wish zero was a rating. I booked a reservation with this service several days prior to my trip. The morning of my flight, my ride was a no-show and I could reach no one on the "24 hr" number. My trip was several weeks in length. Upon receiving my next business credit card statement, I saw I had been charged for a ride that never happened. I lodged a complaint with the company and I was told,"I see that nothing unusual happened with this trip" and "you only have thirty days to contest a charge". I asked over and over who was supposedly the driver, where was the signed receipt, and offered to provide my airport parking receipt since I had to drive myself and park. The manager was rude and unhelpful. I eventually contested the charge with my card and filed a fraud complaint with local police. This company is awful, don't use them. And Michael H is every bit as unprofessional and an absolute jerk as he sounds in answering these reviews and quite frankly has an excuse for everything. Btw, Michael... that is true, there is no phone number listed now, but this was 3 months ago there was one listed. I was told I'd receive a call back from the "bookkeeper" which never occurred. BE WARNED DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I hired this service to take my daughters and me to the airport and got SCAMMED. My 18-year-old daughter reserved the taxi with her credit card and I paid the driver in cash with the tip when we arrived at the airport. I requested a receipt for the cash payment that was never sent to my email. When we got back from our vacation my daughter noticed that the company processed a payment to her credit card. Basically, they double charged me. We ended up paying $104.40 for a one way drive from Great bridge Chesapeake to Norfolk airport. I tried to get the matter resolved with the company and was told that they would look into it and I would receive a call back. So far no response. The person I spoke to on the phone was rude and argumentative and told that even though I had the scheduled time of the pickup; how much I paid in cash; the make and color of the vehicle and 2 other witness in the car that it was my word against the driver. If you use this service make sure to take pictures of the driver, the vehicle, license plate and you handing the money/credit card over to him and even with taking those precautions you are not guaranteed not to be double charged if paying in cash. This business is EXTREMELY DISHONEST and provide VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Update: I received a call back from this company shortly after my review was posted stating that it would take 14 days for them to look into the matter. They asked that I remove the bad review which I did while they were looking into the matter. It's been 3 weeks and I have not heard back from them. Greenbrier taxi and road runner taxi are two different services although they used to be one in the same last year but was bought buy someone else this year and Road runner taxi only has one taxi in service, which is the story I got from the dispatcher. This person was late in picking me up from my house I called to confirm the taxi several times I was told it was on its way each and every time. I called because I needed a ride to the airport for a business trip I ended up missing my flight so i booked another flight the same day but if that wasnt possible i could have lost my job. The original price was $28.50 i ended up spending $40 because that's what the meter said.. I could have walked to the airport in the amount of time it took him to get to my house. The car smelled of cigarettes and body oder when it clearly states NO SMOKING on the car.. I will never use this taxi service again.. they owe me the cost of a plane ticket which I have called to complain about but it seems the number has changed.. can anyone help me out with the number I looked it up online I've found 3 different numbers listed none of which work and when I showed up to have a talk with these people in va beach it was a massage place I was rather confused.. read more

The good: easy to make reso and can on time. Vehicle was clean inside and driver was nice. Bad: no confirmation of my reso which worries me since I had to enter a credit card to make reso. Called in to confirm and the phone system took forever to get to a live person. After the recent storm, we were stranded. VA does not plow the roads and we needed to get to the airport. The driver was on time, friendly and got us safely to the airport in the absolute worst of conditions (and didn't give me anxiety--that's a good driver!). The state of VA doesn't care to do their job and clear roads for mandated employees or emergency personnel but this business went above and beyond. All set with the state except this cab company haha. Also, very easy reservations made online; don't bother to call, the message will refer you to the website. I was skeptical based on some reviews too but apparently, the bad reviews are from people they do not pick up anymore. I used their service to go to the airport and when I arrived to the airport, I did not receive a receipt, which I needed for reimbursement from my employer. Not a problem as I would just call during their business hours and request one sent. But when I called, no one would answer the phone even though I was within their business hours. I tried several times and they finally disconnected the line so I got a busy signal. I called their transporter line to talk to someone who could transfer me, and when they answered, I explained the issue. Turns out the guy who answered was my driver and he started to get really lippy with me and yelling at me because I called mulitple times DURING THEIR BUSINESS HOURS!! He said he didn't know he was obligated to answer the phone for billing questions. I said if you advertise as being open, then you are obligated to answer billing questions. What a joke of a business. Long story short, I would suggest NEVER use such an unprofessional business as greenbrier taxi. This morning I needed a taxi so I was calling around to see who would be the best taxi service and this particular place was my first choice to call. Once I called he said that he would have a driver call me I said ok and hung up but I also while waiting proceeded to call and see who would come at a better time. Once I called anther company I believe that he was linked to that company as well and he picked up and proceeded to tell me "Why would you call another taxi service when I told you that we are going to call you?" Driver was 40 minutes late. The van smelled like smoke. I had to sprint through the airport to make my flight. He quoted me $45 on the phone. The meter said $57 and he said it was $60 "because of the toll" If I wasn't so late, I'd have argued with him. read more

On July 7th, I reserved a taxi online from Greenbrier Taxi to be picked up on July 8th. I put my information in online. I never got a confirmation email. They were supposed to pick me up at 3:30 am on the 8th. They didn't show up at my house. I called them about 3:45 and said that I had a reservation and asked where the taxi was. The woman on the phone said they didn't have any record of the reservation. At 3:55 they still were not at my house. I was waiting outside and would have seen any car that drove up. I end up driving my own car to the airport and parked in long term parking. The Taxi driver called my while I was at the airport and said that he couldn't find my house and he had the wrong number because I put it in wrong. Yet he was to get the number from the dispatcher. About a week later, they charged my credit card $27 for a no show fee. How can it be a no show when I was at my house and had my phone. He was able to call me while I was at the airport but that was long after the appointment time. I have used them before and didn't have this issue. I was still out in California. I sent them emails with them not responding. I just called them today and everything is supposed to be my fault because I didn't give them the correct information, YET they had my credit card number and charged me for it. They got my for $27 but they will never get another dime out of me. I've done this before with them and never had these kind of problems. I will never deal with them again. read more
