The one thing that frustrated me was that it felt like the dentist was trying to upsell. I came in for the one tooth, but she had a list of all the other teeth she wanted to work on. My regular dentist disagreed with the recommendations this dentist made, so I will continue to use if I need an alternative, but not for my regular visits.

The doc, said for now let's do a deep clean, fix the crown you lost and two fillings . Two weeks ago I had a deep cleaning (mind you, I'm a big chicken when it comes to dentist). The hygienist (Barbara) was excellent to say the least. I had no pain (very important for me) and her assistant Liz was great (she's like the go to assistant there, saving every spot). Today I got my two fillings, well 3 because I overheard doc say it's 3 even though we only planned 2, I got it though. Then the crown ‍... The stubborn crown. Yely (Miracle helper to the Doc) patient as can be putting up with my anxiety and nerves of not choking on my saliva was great, listening to docs orders and training a very nice lady takes a lot. I was like Doc , count to 10... The reality is I was counting to 10 and probably 1000, but the patience Doctora had with me too was definitely a 5 star . I didn't have pain, uncomfortable and tense yes. I highly recommend this office . I do not like DENTIST and believe me I can take pain, but I have to give credit where credit is earned . The good: The office staff was really easy to work with by phone in setting up appointment & letting me know what needed to be sent over. This is a huge benefit. The office is clean & conveniently located if you're in the NE Ft Myers area. Front desk staff seemed capable & knowledgeable. Appreciated reminders they sent over. The dentist I saw, Dr. Lopez, seemed nice, reasonable, articulate. Only saw him maybe 3 min as he did a quick look & I didn't have questions for him or issues with my teeth. The bad: This office uses temps to fill in as dental hygienists. I didn't even know that was something I needed to ask about. I got one & it was AWFUL!!!!! I am one of the few people who actually looks forward to my 6 mo cleaning and this was the worst experience I've ever had. I may b joining the rest of the world in dreading/postponing dental appts. To b fair, the temp gal was very sweet & I would have loved to have given her a pass, but it was really that bad. Also, I don't think it was entirely her fault but rather demonstrates leadership/management issues as somebody should have been checking in on her, ensured she was capable of what they expected, trained her better on the machines, sat in with her for some cleanings. To start, it was a little difficult to understand her, but I was able to make it work. No big deal. Then came the 18(!!) xrays required & it was quickly obvious she was newer at it. Although the piece put in ur mouth is never comfy, my mouth was getting beaten up!! I sucked it up & made it to the next phase thinking perhaps this will get better, but red flags were flying. Then came time to poke the gums to c if there's gum recession. In every office I've ever been, one of the front desk gals comes back & records the numbers while the tech does a quick poke around the gums. Not here - poor thing was left to do it all solo so she poked 3 times then turned to the computer to log the numbers. Over and over for 30+ min. Aside from that, the poking is typically a pretty gentle quick read but today I received jab after jab. My gums still hurt. Just wanted that wonderfully clean teeth feeling so still sticking with it, although glad I chose to b the family guinea pig or I never would have heard the end of it from the family. She then pulled out the Cavitron, which is a vibrating metal pick that is scraped across the teeth, mostly at the gum line to get rid of plaque. Don't enjoy when they scrape your teeth by hand w/scaler, well this takes it up another level w/a squeal that accompanies the metal on tooth scraping. Sounds more like the drill they use when fixing a cavity. I definitely prefer hand scaling, but was able to mentally overcome the awful noises, water filling my mouth and water running down the side of my face. I've had a cavitron used b4 but in doses & a little more exact about where they scale with it. She his some nerves that obviously have less bone coverage and by the 3rd time I was done! I took off the bib, got up & was walking out. These are open rooms so it must have been apparent by this point that the cleaning was not going well, but nobody who is a FT employee came to check in, offer to take over, watch to see what she was doing...nothing. Even after I very clearly stated that we were done & I didn't want her to touch me anymore & was leaving, she was left by herself. (of course I tried to do this as calmly and politely as possible) She pleaded to polish my teeth b4 leaving & after ensuing she was using a typical polisher, I agreed. That was the best part of the cleaning even though it left lots to b desired. For example, when someone polishes ur teeth, they typically do a section of the mouth, rinse thoroughly, suction, then move on. She did the ENTIRE mouth without rinse & then started rinsing but only rinsed (and not well) the bottom teeth. Never rinsed the top. Thought she'd come back and do it. Nope - went on to flossing, which of course meant she was flossing the paste up into my gums b/c it had never been rinsed out. Seriously...this was 1 bad thing after the next. Truly felt like I'd signed up to b a test patient at a teaching college. Again, the temp was trying her best, very sweet and was not trying to hurt me, but she was definitely not up to the level necessary to c patients independently & I put that ownership on the practice that allowed her in the room solo. I would imagine a lot of my issues r due to having a temp as a hygienist. Front desk offered to have me c someone experienced next time - too little too late as we will NOT b returning. Also, b sure to look at ur treatment plan b4 starting as there r several extras on there u might want to decline such as fluoride for adults or $60 mucus test. Gave 2 stars for the positives that did happen, but would NOT recommend.

We called 6 listed cosmetic dentists in the area the next morning and no one could squeeze us in until we called Dr. Milsap and Dr. Streater. They did an emergency root canal with post and preped my gums with an incredible looking temporary tooth. The doctors were exceptionally gentle and caring, and other than the intial customary numbing shot(s), I felt no pain, whatsoever. I've been scheduled in a few weeks to return to the office to have the cap put in. The whole experience was a breeze and we're so grateful that they made time for us, between their other patients. Last year, I went in for a filling and low & behold I left having had a root canal & a $1700. Bill. I was appalled. But able to pay if off monthly. This past week my 23 yr old son who is still in college went in for 3 very superficial fillings. He did not have Novocain & was done 20 min. The bill was $615. I called Milsap's office the next day to negotiate such a charge given the work was completed in 20 min & took less product. The office manager called back to say, 'Dr. Milsap believes he shouldn't be penalized for working efficiently and he will not reduce the cost'. Needless to say, I responded with, 'let him know no one in my family will ever come to him again'. She completely understood & agreed with how I felt. Don't bother with Dr. Milsap. His prices are too high and he knew all along we were cash clients. 4 members in my family went in every 4 month for cleaning & routine X-rays whenever he suggested it. What a joker. I consulted with my brother in law who is a dentist in Illinois. He confirmed the price was a bit too high. Had Dr. Milsap offered at least 20% off, he would have gained our continued loyalty and avoid this review and wherever else I choose to post this review.

Immediately said the tooth will break when cleaning out decay. I told her I would think on it and get a 2nd opinion. Another dentist said he will put filling in cavity but warned me tooth may break. I will take the risk. I wish she would have at least tried to save the tooth and let me decide. She did put a filling in a deep cavity on tooth at gum line. She used laser to remove partial gum to get at the cavity. She did a great job. so far no root canal, since removing partial gum may have exposed the root. She has broken English. She calls a BONE a BUN.. Beware of this. She tends to say OH MY GOD when she sees a deep cavity. I didn't like that, since everyone can hear her. even guests in waiting room. Overly dramatic. Although I liked her and her work with my cavity. Not sure about her yet.

I was never given my x4 retainers that I should've received when treatment was done. So I used my last aligner trays for many years as retainers which are not supposed to be used for that long but she told me to do that if I couldn't pay the remainder on the plan. x4 retainers would've last me over a decade and avoided many life altering problems. Well the aligners started to crack and make holes so I stopped wearing them. I now have constant molar pain, headaches from clenching at night without realizing that was the cause and I'm finding out I might have to do a root canal which could cost thousands. I knew not wearing retainers for a short period of time could cause teeth to shift slightly which I had accepted but I knew nothing about clenching while asleep without retainers and the devasting effects that would have. Do not go here, she only cares about money. She could've given them to me, she knew my situation but she didn't care.
