It now provides excellent modern educational facilities for pupils from Whitburn and surrounding villages. There are 4 language laboratories ,6 Computing/Business Education Classrooms and 2 IT suites. There are now 10 Science labs,5 Craft & Design labs, 4 Home Economics Rooms, 4 Music Classrooms and 4 Music Tuition Rooms. There is also 1 Gymnasia,1 Games Hall,1 Conditioning Room plus 1 Dance Studio. Also an all weather pitch and changing pavilion plus a Swimming pool. My three children attended this school and all achieved good qualifications. Some of the staff have been there for a long time and this is good when you go to parent nights as they know you and you feel more comfortable discussing your childs education. The Academy is an important part of the community, used for Pantomimes and other shows, the starting point for the yearly gala day and of course it's most recent claim to fame was when local boy, Leon returned after winning X factor!

As I graduated a few years back, I can only speak of my experience. I think that St Georges has a lot of great teachers, a lot of fantastic facilities and honestly, it's one of the best schools out there. But when I was there I felt like there was not much trust between many of the senior teachers and their pupils. They didn't really care much for your well being but more for your grades and getting people through the school. I also didn't get the impression they were trying to educate about jobs to go into or careers, it was almost entirely focused on passing exams. As I said, there were some notable exceptions to this but it was definitely prominent in the senior teachers in charge.

The school fosters a positive environment to develop all pupils to maximise their individual potential. I have had 3 children, all with different abilities, benefit from a rounded education at St Peter's. The pupils and the committed teaching staff are all very proud of their school, and this is clear to everyone within the school and to external visitors.. Parental engagement is high, reflected in the supportive Parent Council, PTA, and the wide variety of activities parents are encouraged to be involved in within the school. Working together, staff, parents and pupils, St Peter's is just like a big, welcoming, extended family which you will always be part of.

The caretaker is a lovely man who is always there to open the door for you. They run a nursery group every day and a mum and toddler group on a Friday. They also host a whole other set of classes but you'll have to check out their notice board for those. The place has a job and fulfils it for the most part.

My daughter has come on so much since she has started, you can see the difference between her and others similar ages to her, she more advanced and a very confident child, I know alot down to the child but feel PK has helped her, tho Im sure they would like her a little less noisy =) Keep up the good work PK.

The school also functions as a community centre, offering evening classes and sports team. There is a decent sized swimming pool which provides swimming lessons on weekends and during the school holidays. The school has good sports facilities, with large rugby and football grass pitches, outdoor tennis course, 3 indoor games halls and a gravel pitch mostly used for hockey. In terms of education, the quality is probably around average for a state school with some excellent teachers and some not so good.
