The juices are exceptional with a lovely selection of items. The rating is mostly based on the fact that the food items leave alot to be desired. The salads and chia puddings are all generic and feel as though you got them out of a hospital vending machine. I would get a juice but avoid any food items. In my ways feels like youre mostly paying for the branding moreso than the quality of the food items Food Item Reviews: 1) PB&J chia pudding: it was overly sweet, nothing special. For 300 cals, I would rather eat a junior chicken so not a great use of calories if you are being calorie conscious 2) Rainbow Bright Salad: not going to lie, this was one of the better prepackaged salads I have had. Delivered at 3:05am instead of the confirmed 10am-12pm booking, delivered at this ridiculous hour on coldest night of the year. Shattered bottles, shards in those that didn't fully break. Had to leave numerous voicemails and messages. No response for 9 days then they simply refund 1 of the 3 days. Really??? No ownership of their error and no attempt to right the wrong they made. So cool to find them on Too Good to Go-- the food waste reduction app! You can pre-order a "surprise bag" from Greenhouse Juice, and pick it up in the appointed timeslot. So far, I got to try to some chia desserts that I wouldn't usually have purchased. Tip: add some extra dark chocolate to them to make them extra delicious! This place is literally a house! Very cute decor inside with very limited amount of seating. Thinking it's meant to be a take out smoothie place. Always walk pass by Pusateri that has a huge poster that shows it sells greenhouse juice. Decided to go to actual greenhouse juice for an energy boost. Ordered peanut butter smoothie that has spinach and kale. The smoothie is expensive for 16 oz. similar in pricing with most vegan / vegetarian restaurants. However, at the same price point there are definitely other smoothies in Toronto that have even more premium ingredients and better tastes. Will likely not come back again. read more

You've probably caught wind of the fact that cold-pressed juice is a thing. Some people are all about it (me) and other people are a bit more hesitant to buy into the hype (my husband). I learned about Greenhouse Juice when I saw them featured in the amazing Day of Gluttony: 24 Toronto Restaurants in 24 Hours video and when NOW Toronto voted them as the #1 Best Juice Bar 2019. I was pretty excited to visit their flagship location (open since 2014) in Summerhill on a Saturday morning, fully intending to have breakfast. The little white house is extremely adorable. You can clearly see how their logo was derived from the house itself and I love this level of continuity (they've even got light fixtures in the same shape!). Inside, you find a bright and friendly space, full of white subway tiles and tons of plants all over the place. It feels cute, fresh and current. Of course there's a large fridge housing all of the bottled cold-pressed juices, lemonades, kombuchas, plantmilks, shakes, and boosters. But they also offer food items as well. There isn't a whole lot available for seating, save for some counters with a few stools, but you don't really need much more than that. The people behind the counter were very warm and helpful, happy to offer tons of information and to guide me through the options. I would be amiss not to mention how greatly the shop has expanded. From the first little shop to now 13 locations in Toronto! And it doesn't stop there. Greenhouse Juice's products are available in practically all of the grocery stores, all across Canada. Including my local Loblaws. You can find their bottled juices everywhere from Vancouver, Edmonton, Regina, and Montreal (plus everywhere else in between). I think that it's safe to say that they've "done it." I decided to start with a Superfood Smoothie because I liked the idea of trying something that gets made-to-order, which you can't get at the grocery store. Of the six choices, I liked the sound of Undercover Greens (House almond milk, banana, spinach, kale, vanilla, peanut butter, protein powder, ceylon cinnamon - $9.95 for 16oz) the best. I was surely drawn to this one because of the use of peanut butter as an ingredient. After a short wait my smoothie was ready and I loved the creamy texture and delicious flavours. I enjoyed that it really did taste like a rich and decadent nutty situation, yet still packed plenty of green vegetable punch. My only complaint is that I found some of the sips (especially near the bottom) to be quite gritty. I have to wonder if maybe the spinach or kale wasn't washed properly? It really was that type of grittiness. Apart from that, I liked the health-giving, energy-boosting flavour a lot. I was also quite interested in trying some of their plant-based bites, which not all of their locations offer. They serve things like smoothie bowls, panini, and chia puddings. There were two types of panini available and I went for the Roasted Veggie + Pesto Panino (Bianca bread, sweet potato, red pepper, broccoli, eggplant, roasted sunflower seeds, olive oil, red onion, garlic, arugula, basil, parsley, lemon juice, black pepper, kosher salt, dried oregano, chili flakes). I was asked if I wanted the sandwich warmed up and cut in half, which I did. I enjoyed the fact that so many vegetables were packed in between two pieces of bread. The sweet potato was especially nice, with it's large tender chunks. The sandwich was herby, warm and savoury. I found this panino to be plenty fresh and delightful. (Hot Tip: panino = singular, panini = plural.) Next, I grabbed something a bit more snack or dessert-like. The Almond Butter Chia Pudding (Coconut milk, chia seeds, almond butter, maple syrup, hemp hearts, vanilla extract, cinnamon). They had two chia puddings available but the almond butter was really speaking my language. What? I just really like nut butters! OBSESSED. This was my favourite thing that I had at Greenhouse Juice. This chia pudding was SO GOOD. The layer of creamy, rich, nutty almond butter on top tasted deliciously nutty... But then you get to the actual chia pudding underneath which was even creamier, sweet, coconutty magic. Maybe I was just in the right mood, but I couldn't get over how much I loved this. It was everything that I wanted! Can I get this at the grocery store by my house?? Because I want my fridge to be stocked with them at all times. Okay. Now let's talk about the big show. What's the deal with cold-pressed juice? (Or as my husband calls it, "$10 juice.") What's up with buzz phrases such as plant-based nutrition? Why should you want raw, organic juice? Having Greenhouse Juice here reminds me of when I was in Los Angeles. I say this because there is an inherent juicing trend there - especially when it's raw, organic, and vegan. They also serve up a pretty delicious and creamy almond milk in a "glass bottle." YES!!! I first discovered Almond Milk LA, and wished they had something like this in Toronto. And it's finally here!!! They also have some amazing boosters and juices. My favorite is the chia seeds hydrator. Their ginger boost is one amazing dose of spiciness. Really hits the heart. Love it! I got there at 1pm, and they were sold out of some of their best sellers. Gotta visit earlier next time. Being that it just opened, I am curious to see how they will develop. Whether if they will start to develop a detox package for those that want to buy more than just a bottle. I would be interested in something like a 5-day cleanse or more. I have tried other cleanse companies and this one is my favourite due to the amount of drinks you receive and the low sugar drinks. I feel that low sugar cleanses are important to prevent the insulin spike. I ordered my juices online for Vancouver BC (they deliver to B.C. and Ontario). The customer service was exceptional. Went to the Briar Hill location, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I've been going since the New Year and getting a juices for lunch as a meal replacement/cleanse. I was planning on doing this for two weeks, post the holiday gluttony, but think I will keep it up. Since I'm doing it as a meal replacement I've been getting a lot of the Apple Juice (name does not do it justice, think thick and filling goodness!). I also really love The Alpha (butternut squash and red pepper) The space is bright and clean but a little cramped (only reason I didn't give 5 stars). I feel great and my skin/face feel more glowy. They would also take a picture of where they left it and send you through email. It was great until they messed up royally and I didn't want to order from them again. To echo an earlier review - Yes, this place is expensive! $8-$11 for the smallest-sized bottle is a hefty price to pay but I guess they are located in the right area for clientele than can afford it - regularly. The advantage I'm giving right now is that they are very generous with the samples. I guess being a new store and wanting to drum up business, they want to create a positive customer experience so samples will help... especially when you aren't sure where to spend your $10. During my first visit, I sampled a shot of just about everything on the menu. The menu also states the ingredient list in each drink. From a nutrition or even allergy perspective, you know what you're consuming. They drink also tells you how it can help you (i.e. energy, digestion, antioxidants, etc). From a DIY perspective, you can probably try to make it at home with your own juicer given that you know what to put in it. What sets this place apart and may still get some DIY juicers into the store is the almond milk drinks which they make in-house. I'm not too familiar with almond milk but I can see what nutritional benefits it can bring. ** TIP - They do have a bottle recycle program. Every time you finish your bottle, bring it back. They keep track of your returns. Once you return your 10th bottle, your next 250ml bottle is free and you get a free yoga class at a nearby studio. For someone like me, the savings could add up... just might take me 10 weeks to get to that free bottle. read more

I DRANK It's all cold pressed juice so you're getting twice the nutrients you might get at other juice bars and yes, it's EXPENSIVE (the bottle deposit is included in the price) but worth it. Just like to say my most recent visit at the Briar Hill location was significantly better. The girl who was running the store at the time was pleasant, friendly and had the right amount of enthusiasm (knowledgeable but not pushy by any means). I will definitely be back as its only a few blocks from my work and I do love a good green juice on days I'm feeling sluggish (or need to reboot after a cheat day). Happy to see the owners/managers are making the effort to ensure the quality of their customer service is as high as their products. My boss convinced me to do a 3 day "Green Cleanse" with her this week and we used Greenhouse Juice and their delivery program. The cost boggled my mind (basically it costs $70 per person per day). This includes daily delivery and about 8 juices per person. The Green Cleanse involves no sugar or sweetened juices, so nothing contained apple, etc, only veg. It wasn't quite as horrible as I thought, we received: Clean Zing - Alkaline Water, lemon, liquid cayenne - basically a spicy lemony water to drink first thing in the morning. "The Good" - a green juice containing celery, cucumber, kale and himalayan salt. This one was not bad, I'm not going to say it was delicious, but it was easy to sip and I could see myself enjoying one of these in the morning. "The Giver" - another green juice containing celery, kale, rainbow chard, cucumber, ginger and some other stuff. We really struggled with this one. It was quite shuddery. "Almond Milk Unsweetened" - This one was my personal favourite, probably the only one containing significant calories, could be used as a meal supplement. It contained sprouted ground almonds and coconut oil. I actually found it quite delicious but two of our cleansing group literally could not stomach it. Chia Seed Hydrator - was a water mixed with chia seeds to be glugged down before bed. This one was ok. There were also two little booster shots, one called E3 booster and one called Raw Aloe booster. These were sort of like shooting tequila, you definitely need a chaser. Overall it was quite interesting and the company is very professional. The juices were delivered each morning packed in boxes with ice packs. If you're rich and you want to try it, I say go for it! read more

Trust me, as someone who despises winter, getting me to run over in my work t-shirt when it's snowing is no easy feat. Yes, yes, it's expensive. Greenhouse used to be my go-to juice and smoothie place because it was all made the same day and with great recipes. With their expansion, the recipes are no longer the same (ie the "Almondmilk" is made with pea protein, which gives it a different flavour and texture, when it used to be "Almond Milk", a classic almond milk with a base of almonds and vanilla and dates). I've ordered multiple of the same juices/boosters through delivery and they arrived with different expiry dates which indicates they were made on different days. The bottled Rococoa tastes very different with a strange after taste from the in-store made Rococoa - they are the same price, and look the same, but are not. It is disappointing when you pay the same high prices but receive a different quality product :( read more

Super pricey but such a nice treat. I really like the packaging of the bottles (each one has the name of the drink and associated benefits--such as liver cleansing). They are meant to be kept at home or returned to the store--and if you bring back 10, you get a free drink and free yoga class at one of their affiliated companies. Don't try the Rococoa smoothie unless you're willing to shell out $12/day (sometimes twice a day!) to feed your addiction. If you do end up trying it, ask them to substitute the almond milk with brazil nut milk! It tastes better, and is a thoughtful thing to do considering the drought in California, where 80% of the world's almonds are grown. It takes 1.1 gallons of water just to grow one almond. This place is cute, like a little house on a prairie except in the middle of the city. I would've given a better rating had the girl not given me my order in a takeout cup instead of a bottle (after paying $12 for it). Maybe she got confused that I would be enjoying it in store (all 500 mL?) because I was sitting down and waiting for my order. However, the staff was pretty friendly and welcoming and even gave us several samples since it was our first visit, which really helped otherwise we'd have no idea what 'Deep Roots' or 'Pink Milk' would taste like. The juices tasted pretty fresh and their flavours are pretty unique; not something you would find at a grocery store, so if it's your first visit, make sure to sample first or stay with the 'safe' flavours like apple. They have a board that displays all the prices, flavours and ingredients so you can get an idea of how it'll taste like. The Pink Milk and Rococa was pretty good, but be sure to finish the milks before the actual date on the bottom of the bottle - it does go bad immediately ON that date. My sister liked their Deep Roots but I actually found it to be slightly salty? Having said, I liked their Pink Milk, which kind of tasted like sweet milk with a hint of beet and maple syrup flavor. The Rococa was yummy with a lot of nutty flavor and could almost make for a breakfast/protein shake. There's some dates in it which gives it a slight bit of sourness, so it's not all chocolately and nutty. The Choco-Maca would be my alternative. The shop on King St West is somewhat deceiving; it's actually limited to whatever they have in stock that day only. So if you go in late that day and they have like 3 bottles left, that's that. You'll have to go to the one on Yonge if you want 'fresh' ones. The only downside I would say for this place is the price. Yes, it's 'organic' and yes you cant really find anything else out there like this place, but for the size they offer it is a bit pricey. I discovered this place the other day with my husband while we were taking an afternoon gander through one of our favourite neighbourhoods. I have been very interested in cold-pressed juices for quite some time now, and I've been having a blast checking out all these amazing juice bars that have been popping up around the city. At first glance this place is wonderful. Cute, chic little white house tucked in the corner of a beautiful neighbourhood. The inside was just as vibrant as the exterior: bright colours, fresh produce on the walls and a large display of a variety of juices. The staff were also friendly and helpful. I purchased a two 250ml bottles, one Gold Rush and one Deep Roots. I also grabbed a 500ml of almond milk to take home. I enjoyed sipping on the first two juices, they were tasty and refreshing. The combination of ginger and cucumber in the Gold Rush was energizing. I went home thinking my experience was quite pleasant. Everything seemed fine until the next morning I poured some of the almond milk only to find the inside of the bottle had orange residue on it. I took a step back for a moment only to think - the company does a bottle recycling program. I couldn't believe it. DISGUSTING. The orange residue all over the inside of the bottle was from a previous drink and the bottle had not been cleaned properly. I cannot believe a company that charges upwards of $15 a bottle for juice would or even could sell a dirty bottle to a customer. I am appalled by the service and I won't be returning even to recycle my bottle to say the least. With all the new companies popping up offering similar products I would say it is safe to skip out on this one! read more

The ginger shot was what O came for, having heard about this tiny shot of pure ginger juice. Wow. serious stuff. Almost medicine or a supplement rather than "food." I've been doing the juice cleanses, gentle and then standard, for 2 days now. I had 2 juices left over from the first cleanse, and 1 juice left over from the second day. I've done juice cleanses before - from total cleanse. This is my comparison: I won't go into too much detail about Total cleanse as this is a review page for Greenhouse. Total cleanse is less expensive, however, the juices were not as "filling." I found myself more light headed on their cleanse. In addition, they use plastic bottles and when I did their cleanse, they did not have a bottle return program. I found the juices at Greenhouse to be more substantial and "filling." I liked that they had a "best before" date stamp at the bottom of the bottles. The glass bottles were not only attractive to look at (admit it, we all 'eat', ahem, "juice" with our eyes), and they had a bottle return program. I liked how I didn't have to "commit" to the cleanse - i.e. you can order online the night before and have it delivered the next day. I'm lucky enough to live very close to The Detox Market and was able to pick up the juices on the day of if I felt like I wanted to continue my cleanse. Which was exactly what I did. After my first day on the gentle cleanse, I woke up feeling pretty good, so I decided to give it one more go. I gave The Detox Market a call, let them know that i was going to pick up a cleanse that day, and when i arrived, it was waiting for me. Perfect. One caveat: The Detox Market only carries limited quantities of each - so I was lucky they had 1 500ml Almond Milk left for the cleanse (you can always substitute with brazil nut milk etc.). Because of the left over juices I had (like i said, the juices felt substantial so I didn't end up finishing all of them) I decided to "craft" my own cleanse today. I picked up an additional 3 juices this morning at The Detox market. Amazing little spot with a great selection of juices and smoothies. The staff is always helpful, and you can sample any of the juices before buying! But beware, most of the popular juices sell out quickly (before noon), so make sure to go early! Oh, and if you return 10 glass bottles, you get a free juice and a yoga class.
