I have bought 8 high tunnel hoop greenhouses from Fermin at Greenhouse Megastore and received outstanding service. The tunnels were built on a farm with high wind. We put on wood end walls with doors from Lowes and solar fans in the wood end walls. We also put a 2" x 8" rim joist along the base and secured it with 30" railroad ties and connected the hoops to that. We did not want the greenhouse to take off like a huge umbrella. We did not like the 8th greenhouse that had sharp elbows where hoop joined the rising metal post. These tore the plastic almost immediately. We liked the smooth circular greenhouses. If you use solar fans on the end walls, make sure they can cover that much area. Ours were too small, but they still helped a lot. We were able to build ours without tripping county permits, because we put our hoops in recycled asphalt instead of concrete! Great product. Has lasted 6 years with no problems with frame. I ordered an irrigation kit ($300+) that had great reviews. Installed the system and it had problems in every area. Tube lines leaked everywhere and would not stay in the fittings. Have used numerous irrigation products over the decades I have been gardening and I knew what I was doing. Lines had to be replaced multiple times per week and it was not a pressure issue. I ended up having to trash the whole system. Each time I left a negative review for the product it was never added to their website. I called and they said they do not monitor or remove negative reviews. I had been professional and civil with every review and only listed problems that happened. Tried one last time and still only 4+ reviews for a garbage product. Cheap low quality products that they do not back-up. read more

What a scam. They had a 'Sale!' for nursery pots and seedlings trays so I spent quite a bit of time selecting what I wanted to purchase. Once everything was in my cart I went to check out only to find that the sale price had disappeared and the full retail price was what I would pay. (It was about $50, so not a small amount of money.) I backed out of the checkout screen and went back to my cart--the sales price was still valid in my cart. I went back to the checkout screen--sales price was gone--back to the cart, sales price was valid. At this point I took screenshots of my cart and went back to the checkout screen--everything was full price. I took screenshots of the checkout screen and went back to my cart and now the cart had everything at full price. Nothing on the website said the sales price was ending, and it was before midnight so even if it was ending it should have been valid until 11:59PM. This wasn't a mistake on the company's part, it was an attempt to fool me and do a bait and switch on price. I will contact BBB and see if they will list my review. I would hate for anyone to buy from this company thinking that they are ethical when they are just trying to scam people. read more

I ordered a very expensive DuraSkrim poly film from these guys during a huge sale they were having a few years ago. The website said that the price is only for just this special sale. It's a bargain!! I thought I was saving hundreds, so I bought it without looking at the competition. Well, looks like the competition's regular price is GM's SALE price. I lost about $400 not shopping around! Plus, the guy was very curt with me the entire time I was ordering it. I'm sure it's because I am a woman. It's okay. I am a woman who knows how to leave reviews and now am shopping with a pocketful of money on your competition's website! read more

I know for sure that I ordered 5 hanging baskets because that is all I needed, but they sent 10. I can return the extra 5 but I have to pay for shipping and a 20% restocking fee, which will probably cost more than the baskets. I won't shop here again because I feel like they messed up my order. They shipped the wrong items in three large boxes. After I contacted them to arrange for return, they never had the items picked up.

Poor customer service! Placed an order 2 weeks ago to be picked up today. Sales man never checked to see if items we in stock until the day before pick up. Heater unit was not in stock also is a week out. What?! Why was this not communicated? In ordering I mentioned many times that we would need items by a certain time line and he agreed. One half of order showed up promptly. I'm still waiting for the other half more than two weeks later. They have not responded to email requests as to the shipping date and ETA of the remaining order. The worst customer service I've seen has been with Greenhouse Megastore online. I have a roadside stand in south New Jersey. I ordered all my seed trays, humidity domes, heat mats and insert packs 9 days ago. Nearly $400 and at Day 7, I sent a message asking about the status of my order from a "contact us" button on their website. No reply. I then called after waiting (and waiting) and not receiving my order. I have to get busy planting seeds in my greenhouse and this order was holding everything up. The reason for the holdup? One simple drain tray that was on my order comes from the U.K. so Greenhouse Megastore held onto all of it. They actually were not going to send any of it to me until the "tray" gets to them in 6 WEEKS! Does anyone at this business actually farm or grow plants? Do they realize that their customers actually have timelines that they follow to conduct business? I received no email or phone call alerting me to this holdup and the rep on the phone was helpless and unwilling to ship overnight. She was nice about it but sadly that does not help me right now. I cancelled the order and now I have to drive an hour away to get what I should have received a week ago. Yet they took my money immediately. Needless to say I'm very disappointed and frustrated because no one from this company really cares about my planting schedules or my time in general. If you love having your money taken by a company with zero intentions of fulfilling your order I highly recommend Greenhouse Megastore. I was given no heads-up that the items I ordered were not even in stock until I had to go do the legwork to track down my order myself, a week later. Isn't it illegal to accept money over the internet without having the actual product to sell? The rude customer service person I spoke with blamed their "inventory system". Ha! And I have some beachfront property in AZ if you're interested. Like the other reviewer on here said, "in this day and age be very cautious of a company that does not allow real reviews on their own web site". So, so true. Lesson learned the hard way with this company. I swore I would never use this site for a negative review but, alas, Greenhouse Megastore has inspired otherwise. read more

My experiences with the Greenhouse Megastore have been exceptionally good. First, the frost protection product I ordered was shipped promptly. When it arrived, I assembled it easily and placed it on one of my citrus trees. Throughout the winter the product provided exceptionally good frost protection. A few days ago I noticed a problem with the frost protection fabric, so I photographed the problem areas and notified the support people at the Greenhouse Megastore. They responded promptly, thanked me for sending the pictures, then requested that a replacement be sent to me. I placed an order on June 27th and got an immediate confirmation email saying I would get a tracking number within 2-3 biz days. Today it is July 9th and I have gotten nothing but a charge on my credit card. I called and got an answering service person who gave me the run around when I said I want help right now. She said "I can help you by getting your information and passing it along and you will get a call back by end of day tomorrow". I really doubt I will get a call back. I sent an email to their help email so we will see but I am not expecting a response. Looks like I will have to just dispute the credit card charge to get my money back. read more

First off, in this day and age be very cautious of a company that does not allow real reviews on their own web site. Also, be very aware, that if you do business with this company, be prepared to be frustrated. I own a farm and I am very familiar with hoop houses or high tunnels. We use them a lot and for many different purposes. We run a u-pick farm and so I have plenty of people to show this particular hoop house to. The standard construction is basic, you have a bunch of predrilled, pre bent galvanized pipes that are assembled for the hoop part and then a bunch of purlins to hold it all together. Go to their website. Look at the hoop houses and photos. They include pictures of the round and square tubes. You may think that you are purchasing a standard hoop house with round pipe sides and square pipe purlins. There are no detailed pictures of any of the houses. Just basic blurry photos that you cannot make out. Because what you actually get is some stamped flat galvanized steel for sides and likewise for the purlins. They throw in some cheap strapping material that showed up bent and unusable. Buyer beware. Oh, and just try to get in touch with customer service. Good Luck.
