I had two appointments with him pre-surgery and he put me quite at ease with his bedside manner and competency. His staff was very nice and they too expressed that if they needed the surgery they would trust him to take care of them. So surgery was last Friday at UF North and of course like most doctors things were running behind so I had to wait my turn. No big deal except for being hungry. When it was time for surgery the anesthesia doctors were very nice and explained everything. I had a nerve block and then some sleepy time meds and the next thing you know I was done and in recovery asking for some snacks and ginger ale. The recovery nurse was so nice, she said I have chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin granola bars and my response was YES! She started laughing. I won't go into the pain etc, you can go to YouTube and see all the whiners about that stuff. One thing for sure, all this velcro on this sling and sling fanny pack thing is itchy as hell and someone should come up with something to cover this crap. Not sure using pantyliners is outdoor acceptable, but kitchen towels are too heavy and scarfs are too hot. Velcro...my only complaint!

Dr Chandler understands that his patients are in actual pain and need pain medicine on a day-to-day basis to have any quality of life. Going to this office on CR - 210 has helped me be able to work a job. Before meeting Dr. Cartwright, I thought I thought I was going to have to file a Social Security Disability claim because work no longer seems like a possibility. With all honestly, Dr Joseph Adam Cartright has not only provided me with a high level of quality of life that allows me to travel on vacation with my wife and 3 teenage sons but allows me to enjoy my life at times when in the past I only experianced pain without joy during the same situations. His ( very nice) receptionist wore no mask, assuring me that she had been tested already. But Dr McCoy wore no mask either, nor gloves, nor did he wash his hands when entering the exam room. When I asked him why he was no wearing a mask, he said he doesn't believe in masks. We had a conversation about masks and he mentioned that he does not believe Dr Fauci, whom he regards as a fraud. Retrospectively, I should have walked out immediately, but Dr. McCoy's friendly manner disarmed me until I thought about it later. Before you go to any doctor, call first to find out what protocols are in place to protect you. If you don't care, then Dr McCoy would probably be a good choice.

His style of care has been very interesting but confusing! Throughout him trying to find solutions to help me however, has been giving me mixed signals! One day he would say he is trying to find solution's to my pain experience then the next he & his office staff treats me like I'm a homeless person off the streets! While I was in VA he made sure I was given pain medication for the accident I can say that! However, I broke my neck developed a serious infection in my leg and had to have surgery on both my neck from front to back & my leg was so infected that they spoke of amputation But God saved me and now I'm healing each and every day one day at a time! I am in so much pain everyday! I have been trying to get treated by this office but they turned me away about some Medicare Issues the day of my visit left me with no pain meds! NO one would return my calls, messages and they have been charging me for services NOT rendered! Examples were while I was stuck in the hospital in VA I am showing charges ridiculously for those times! I believe the Billing department has overcharged me numerous times! One month I would have no charges all of a sudden I'm owing thousands of dollars for treatment I did not received in Florida Pain office! I was turned away when I showed up for my appointment one day because they said I did not pay my co-pay! They blamed it on Medicare! However I called Medicare and they said they were good on their end! Everything paid that was sent in and etc! There has been a lot of turnaround situations I get it! But don't say I haven't paid my bills when I know I have! Sometimes the receipts doesn't show your credits on the EOB's as well!!! I want to focus on being pain free NOT more stress!!!

I was diagnosed and have received underwhelming care and attention. Today, I went in for a 5th visit. I'm asked by the staff and doctor if I came in for a shot. I say, "Sure." Then, when I see the PA, I ask again about what are my options and plans for further knee solutions instead of just a shot? She has to look at my chart and leaves. Deja Vu, this is what happened during my last visit. *Maybe looking at my chart and being somewhat familiar with my situation after being a client for over a year would be nice and make me feel as if I have a doctor who is involved. Anyways, we talk. I figure out I'll need to keep up with physical therapy. It's a sensible prognosis. I'm sad though because I feel as though I don't have the support I need. I have friends who are clients of JOI and they are being supported and taken care of with shots, plans, and check-ins every step of the way. They have returned to their tennis team while I have not. I've read the other reviews and am glad others have had a great experience. Perhaps if I was getting surgery, I would get more service.
