I spoke with George and honestly there was no compassion no clarification as to the new policy changes for decorating our loved ones gravesite. When I purchased three lots a couple years ago, I was told that I could decorate I could put balloons. I could put a bunch of flowers around his stone and that is honestly why I went with the cemetery and now to say that I'm only allowed to put anything in the flower pot. And if I want more decorations to buy another flower pot, how disgusting what a bunch of corporate greed. I literally feel lied to. We need to rally up and stand up to this corporation and file a community lawsuit. They put up signs for everything how convenient of them to not put up signs that they would be enforcing this on a day where they are not even supposed to touch our decorations. And all the families there are very mindful when decorating I've seen how beautiful the cemetery looks. These last couple of days it has been so sad to go. I am already speaking to a lawyer because this has caused me such pain. I've read my contract and I'm having my contract looked at. I recommend all of us do the same. read more

If I could give them a zero I would. Their staff reminds me of a bunch of used car sales people. When you walk in the office, they are on their phones scrolling and barely give you any attention. We made our appointment for the Monday after my mother died and during our appointment in a closed room, a male employee came in with a customer to sell a coffin. We were literally making arrangements for my mother's remains, and they came through the door to sell a coffin. When I asked him if that was the usual practice, he simply responded with; " this is our only coffin room" I said well maybe you could wait until after our appointment or they could've put us in a different room. Instead of apologizing, "he just said well we were only in here for like two minutes." I told him that was two minutes too long and he left. Absolutely unbelievable. After gathering all of our information and telling us that we should be able to take care of my mother's remains within 3 to 5 days we paid and left. Paid in full and we had to call back constantly to have any communication with the office and their story kept changing about the time and date of getting the permit for our mother's cremation and the death certificate. They told us they were waiting on the doctor to sign off, when we called the hospital and the health department, they told us they had received no request from the mortuary. Sabrina at Greenlawn claimed that they could prove that they sent the request and their proof was literally a handwritten invoice in a screenshot. Run from this place as fast as you can use a small local business instead. The staff is unsympathetic and doesn't even pretend to be concerned with your well-being. I understand it's a business, but they could at least pretend to have a little compassion. We asked to speak to Devin several times and he never returned our call. Then they had the nerve to send a text out a couple weeks after and ask how our service was. When I responded that we never got a call back and it was terrible, Devin finally called me. It truly breaks my heart that my family member's grave decorations were thrown away by greenlawn staff. The cemetery changed its policy without giving timely notice, and because of that, something placed with love and care is gone. That loss hurts more than I can put into words. I had flowers and a beautiful purple cross at my husband's plot. The cross is gone after seeing the postings online of decorations thrown in a pile as if they were garbage. This Cemetery is TERRIBLE! Where should I start ... I have witnessed my sister call multiple time to address issues, as well as go into the office about my nephew's grave. My sister has contacted the office multiple times this week and last week. JOSE whomever he is, told her "What do you want us to do"? Like are you serious (his decor keeps coming up missing, fix it you imbecile, soul) he sounded as if he could barely breath and needed to have his nose checked. Very rude, disrespectful, condescending and ignorant for no reason. If you do not like what you do; find another profession. My sister and I went in and was told DEVIN would reach out. Devin is a liar and a snake. He said he would replace the Halloween decor. over two weeks ago but has not and is avoiding our calls. He lied and told the receptionist he has already replaced. This has been an ongoing issue for almost a decade. His head stone has been run over and scratched numerous times. Grave decor has been stolen, or someone keeps removing the decor. I wouldn't give them a dime; they feed and thrive off individuals' vulnerability and is very disrespectful to Black people. The ironic thing of all is my nephew's decor is gone, but every Hispanic around him isn't. We cannot help, but to think this is about race at this point. If there was an option to give 0 stars I would. 8 days ago I met and made arrangements to cremate my loved one today. Yesterday, the director gave me a courtesy call to ease my anxiety about the ceremony and informed me all legalities regarding the cremation were prepared and we were ready to go. Towards the end of service, the funeral home representative informed me that it would take another hour to obtain authorization to cremate. That hour turned into 3 and many of my family members missed the cremation. Our plans post cremation were delayed as well. It was embarrassing and frustrating at the same time. Disheartening that family flew from all over the the continent and had to miss a part of the ceremony due to the lack of professionalism from the funeral home director. I will strongly advice against using this funeral home or any others this particular director is in charge of. read more

This trip thru Socal I felt the need for some uplifting things to do to balance out the depressing things happening. I had this place bookmarked and so I figured what the hell, it's been YEARS since I was in Bakersfield so why not? There is really only one reason for an out of towner to visit this place and it's to pay homage to the King of Bakersfield, the one and only Buck Owens. Buck Owens and Roy Clark were on my TV every weekend as a kid and young adult growing up thanks to Hee Haw. That show exposed me to all the stars of country music at the time and I really began to notice Buck's Bakersfield sound. Living in Jokelahoma, Bakersfield sure feels alot like home, proly because of all the Dust Bowl refugees that settled there. Also the fact that barely anyone was wearing a mask reminded me of this place as well. The cemetary itself looks well taken care of, and while I was there there were a couple of services going on that were interesting to say the least. I called them on November 15 or 16 2021 about my friend Sherry Davis. The receptionist said they didn't have my friend and would have to send her to the Coroner. The coroner has stonewalled along with Greenlawn. Sherry has been in their freezer for two months with no follow up from them to the coroner. read more

Does anyone know the hours? I try to go visit after work which is 7pm. By the time I get to the cemetery it's about 7:15 and the gates are already closed. One time I ran into a security guard while he was closing the gate around 7:17pm I asked "what time do you guys close" and he looked at his clock and said "we are closed right now,but I'm going to do you a solid and let you in for 5 minutes". My sister was buried there earlier this year since she lived in Bakersfield and her husband is buried there as well. Drove three hours to make all the funeral arrangements thought everything was in place. Fast Forward to the ACTUAL DAY omg Fucking disaster. They did not have the person to do the rosary as requested, they did not have her jewelry on her (thank god my niece noticed) they put it on her in the chapel. Not professional at all. To make matters worse they hired a priest at the very last minute. The reason we found out was because the priest told my mom that he was not going to be able to have a full service for my sister or to do a complete Rosary or to go out to the graveyard to bless it with holy water because he was in a hurry because he had prior engagement. He gave my mom a bottle of holy water and explain to her how to bless the coffin before it went underground so my sister did not have no blessing or no nothing from my actual priest. A funeral assistant got bless his soul was the one who stood up to have a speech and to enter service because he feel bad that everything came out messed up. read more

This place is a complete joke. My great grandmother was buried here and they have no record of it. $12,000 later and NO RECORD. Wanna know how I know this? They have called three times in the past year asking for my great grandmother by her name. After explaining that she was buried there, they apologized, and proceeded to say that they had wanted to buy her crypt. She was buried in her crypt, yet they don't seem to have a record of it. They called twice after this incident. I can't believe a funeral service/cemetery has no sympathy for the deceased that are buried there and the families that have paid thousands to them. read more
