Other Lawn & Garden stores offer competative pricing as well, but poor to mediocre customer service. The main thing to me is customer service. At the end of the day, it's the only thing businesses have to offer to set them apart from everone else. It's what doing business is all about. And Joe's has been terrific I bought my lawn tractor from Joe's, and I have it serviced every year. They're fair and knowledgable, responsible and prompt. And, its a locally owned company. I highly recommend doing business there.

I took it back and they tried to say it was my fault it didn't run. Took it to a place in Elkhart and they said it wasn't worth servicing and tried to sell me a new one. When I told them i didn't want a new mower they said they would repair it. After another $300 dollars it only ran marginally better. After a recommendation from a friend I took it to Joe's. Joe got it running great and 100 times better the others and for only $118,00. I will drive the extra miles for the great work and customer service of Joe's Engine. He is a honest man. Not many places like this anymore.

A call back saying "if you'd like us to come out it will be $150 dollar service fee because door adjustment is part of delivery. "Door adjustment is in the owners manual or I can explain how to do it now." So here is my review, I WILL NEVER purchase another anything from you. We brought our snowblower here after we called the place that we bought and were told they were an…read moreauthorized warranty service center. I started out by giving them a call and explained our situation with our snow blower. The lady who answered the phone was both friendly and helpful. She let us know that they would be able to have our snowblower back in a day or two. About an hour later we took it in and were greeted just as pleasantly in person as we had on the phone. She answered our questions and got us taken care of and let us know they would give us a call when it was done. Here is the best part! Just a few hours after we dropped it off they called us to let us know it was fixed and ready to go. While they were at it they adjusted a couple things that would allow the blower to operate better... and not just because they could charge us for the additional work. The amount they charged us for the work they did was more than reasonable. It was much quicker than expected and very thorough. This place may not look like much from the outside, but we would definitely recommend this place and take other stuff here for work if we need it. They were super friendly, accommodating, and know what they are doing!

You might be tempted to use a business like this for better service than a big box retailer. I'm…read morenot sure that you'll get it. They use a text message tool to communicate with customers. But if you run into issues from the lack of context in texting the staff doing the texting may get fatigued and simply stop responding and refuse to take responsibility for their communication by giving you a first name. When you call directly to the office, the staff might refer you to a manager but the manager might be too busy to call you back and discuss your issue. When the service manager does call you back, you might be reminded of your responsibility to immediately report any quality issues with the repair, but get little recognition that repairs are sometimes done incorrectly. And in case you thought they like to use texting, be told it's really better for you to pick up the phone and call them. Not that the staff will be trained to proactively call you if texting goes sideways. If your dishwasher door won't open flat for loading after being disassembled, would you think that's a sign the repair was done incorrectly? I did. But Camden can't say if that would be the case. Anything could have happened.

In 2014, I moved to another city near Chicago where I recently had trouble with a Ryobi lawnmower battery that was still under warranty. After 6 weeks of run-around from the Ryobi company, I was told by the Ryobi company to take my equipment to a service center. Not wishing to drive into Chicago, I opted to drive a little farther, back to Goshen where I was already familiar with the area and this company in particular. Zach was my contact person at Erv's and he did an EXCELLENT job of going to bat for me. He took the case to the parent company (wisely by-passing the runaround I had experienced with Ryobi) and after several rounds, he prevailed in getting all the issues resolved to proper satisfaction. He exemplified what customer service ought to look like everywhere, all the time. He was a gentleman and needed no prodding or convincing - he just did the right thing from the very beginning. It was well worth my two separate trips halfway across the state to have my faith in humanity be given the boost it received from interacting with such a competent customer service representative.
