My love for finding cute little vintage and antique shops while traveling grows when the towns that…read moreI am in get cuter and cuter. So, naturally, when in Greenport, I was basically on an all day high. Walking up and down the main street, there are a few little (and big) vintage and antique shops, but The Times Vintage was by far the coolest. It literally feels like you are stepping back in time a few decades (photos uploaded for proof). There's a section in the back that feels like a movie set from the 50s, except you can touch and shop. Ideal dream store basically. I almost immediately found a bag I loved and I am very rarely as decisive as I was when I proudly declared that I would be getting it. Perfect summer staple that I've been on the hunt for for awhile. I'm so happy I found it second hand! I can finally delete the Banana Republic and Jcrew versions I've had saved. They have everything from records to clothes to houseware, all very well curated and decently priced. Very much worth a visit.

This spot was a bit out of the way for me however the town is so nice we made a day trip of exploring the north fork. Being a fan of Ricky Teevees designs, this was a must go! This place is huge, the layout is fabulous. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was rather busy. The displays of everything are perfect & the space feels very lived in. Price wise this spot is up there however it's real vintage stuff. I didn't need any help however the staff seemed nice and played some good music :)

Rich at Willow Hill ran a garage sale for my family when we sold our home. He was fantastic to work…read morewith- he worked for days to set up, did all the work on a permit and promoting, and got us way more in sales than we would have on our own, and all for a super reasonable percentage of the proceeds. I highly recommend working with Rich if you are considering holding a sale. Plus, he is as honest and kind as can be. He made the experience so that we could focus on our feelings about selling the family home, and not about stress. And the cash he got us from sales made it easy to look forward, instead of backwards. Willow Hill store is fantastically fun, too. I have a real love for folk art and unique, nostalgic pieces and Rich has a great eye.

I happened to notice this store on a drive out east to visit some wineries so we made it a point to…read morestop in. This store has a LOT of items, and they seemed reasonably priced from what I saw. Items included furniture, Knick-knacks, toys, and other random items that are all vintage. However, the store is extremely crowded which is the reason I only give it three stars. My husband and I had to alternate walking down the aisles as we both couldn't fit at a time and we were worried about knocking anything over. I noticed there was a basement too with additional items, but we didn't go down there as we were afraid how tight that space would be as well. This store has the potential to be a five star place, I think they just need to rearrange items or better display them so it is easier to move around. There were a lot of items I missed and couldn't fully observe due to too many things being piled on top of each other. It's worth a visit and you're likely to find great items

I've passed this place many times over the years- I suspect it has been here since I was a kid, or…read moremuch longer- but I was always sort of unsure whether it's actually still open for business. On a recent sunny Saturday, I was walking around town with some friends who were visiting Greenport for the first time, and the door to Shearer Shop was standing ajar, making it evident that it was indeed open. My two friends and I share a love of antiques/thrifting/salvage and were keen to check it out. The first impression was not great. The shop is very cluttered, with items stacked high and only very narrow pathways remaining to walk between them- like a scene out of one of the tamer episodes of the TLC show Hoarders. Undaunted, we squeezed our way through one of the tiny routes, noticing a few cool things (and also some rather creepy things) and pointing them out to each other. There were two other customers in the shop as well, a couple, and we overheard the owner telling them, perplexingly, that she would only allow one of them to go upstairs at a time. Once finished with this interaction she was suddenly on top of us, following us around closely for a minute. Eventually she rudely and repeatedly pointed at me saying, "You! You need to leave your bag outside! You!!" We had just come from the beach and I had a small tote with a towel in it. My female friend had a similar bag but for some reason it did not trigger this woman's very specific bag alert system. (For the record, "outside" was apparently an unattended folding chair on the stoop.) Rather than abide by the proprietress's bizarre rules, we left. I would have liked to peruse the odd wares a little longer, but with a number of fantastic and friendly antique/vintage/thrift shops nearby, I don't have the time or patience for the antiquing equivalent of "No soup for you!!" Will not return. But +1 star for the laughs we had about it on the walk home.
