Good bank but it is not located in Washington. The rate and services are good. It is located in 3 states, Iowa, Nebraska, and Illinois.

I was pleased when I received an offer for a lower interest credit card than some others I have, even though I don't live in Iowa. That offer for out of state people no longer exists, however I remain a member of this credit union. Overall it's a very good credit union and I'm happy to be a member. I intend to remain with them for a long time. I enjoyed talking to Scott Parkhurst when I first did the application. Hopefully he still works for the company. My one major disappointment was they did not side with me when I was ripped off by a company selling used motors on the internet and I lost about $150 because that company committed fraud. Do not bank here. In one years time I've been subject to fees, errors and hits on my credit. I set up automatic payments. It didn't work for whatever reason on their side and when I went in to confront them, THEY determined it was THEIR ERROR. Guess who still has a late payments on his credit report. In addition to that they struggle with record keeping. I have physically gone in to provide insurance documents (cards and declaration) with zero lapse in coverage, yet due to error (can't prove it was theirs but I'm thinking it likely was, my insurance agent claimed they frequently have issues with Greenstate) I was charged their insurance. Since I went in last to contest this they have conceded to refund just over half of that 3k addition to my loan. Why not the entire amount when proof has been provided? Good damn question. So, recap... extra fees, taxes and a nice little ding to my excellent credit rating almost entirely this organizations fault yet they hide behind bureaucracy to drag things out as long as possible to ultimately tax me with interests and fees. I have reported these issues to the BBB and look forward to clearing it up. Once that's done I'll be taking my business elsewhere and hopefully you read this and think to do the same. If you need something done, and need a fast resolution, the branch manager (Sandra) is the person to talk to. I was in a severe car accident a few days ago, and went in to talk to her to find out what possibilities I may have to acquire a car since I still had a sizeable loan on my totaled one. I got way more resolution than I was expecting in a very short time. A few hours after I first went in there, she had pulled a loan together and I was signing the papers. The building that houses this particular branch of UICCU is very nice, in a new development area. The parking lot can be a tiny bit confusing. read more

As a U of I alumnus, I have used the credit union for various savings accounts. Before the name change, I was pleased with their service. Rates were good, calls were answered, business was done in an expedient manner. Over the last few months, the rates are the lowest and the customer service is terrible. Today I called, I chatted, and I emailed asking for a phone call to clarify a matter that was time sensitive. Never did get a phone call back. Called customer service again and as it was now close to closing time, there was little to be done today. What frustration! read more

Took out a car loan with them; a decision I sorely regret. Very bad business etiquette, sour attitudes, adds on fees whenever they can, hangs up phone on me, don't give info on payment plan options, always look to repo and tack on those fees, have to pay off car even if they take it. What aggravation they cause me. If I ever get out from their loan, I'll never do business with them for any reason again. Horrible experience. read more

I reached out to acct resolutions department regarding my acct and and I was treated very unfairly and unprofessional. I have been a member with the credit union for years and I felt like they let me and my family down regarding the recent events of Covid-19 pandemic affecting everyone's finances and life today. They did even offer me any positive feedback or help regarding my acct issues. The person I spoke with during this time was very rude and disrespectful regarding my situation. Let me start by stating my review is NOT based off this exact location but rather the call center. If I could give the a -star review I would! Never been more pissed. Asked to speak with a branch manager outside of call center I did not get that, instead I got the most rudest thing a person could ever call a manager, she accused me of cussing at her one I pointed out I had yet to swear she dropped that, rudely interrupted me repeatedly during the conversation and did not want to listen to what I had to say. When I called back to speak to her boss about it I left msg and what do you know she called back not her boss why did her boss not get my msg and she did? This company is the worst I ever dealt with constantly changing policies without no this is managers that don't listen to Customer's and rudely interrupted could go on. If you live for drama do business with them if you preferred to deal with professionals I would strongly recommend staying as far away from them as possible my kids show more respect then that managers I can't believe she ever got where she did with a sour attitude like hers and like I said I tried to reach out to her boss yesterday and your reply only show you didn't listen cus on the call you would of heard me say I'm done and yes I've cut off communication by ignoring calls, however my review was/is that important to you guy you would reach out to me after all you have had all my contact information for years including phone number, mailing address and oh my e-mail since I've received email from you about the skip a payment I'm done reaching out can't handle dealing with UICCU anymore so direct any contact to Pat I can't even do it no more oh and didn't you hear begin of call where I asked for "a branch manager" there was a reason for that! UICCU has decent benefits, but as soon as there's an issue, they are worse than the big Wall Street banks. Their fees are very high for a credit union. For example, it even costs money to receive a wire transfer, which doesn't cost them anything. With Internet banking, you can find fewer fees elsewhere. Their customer service is the worst. Many of the reps who pick up the phone are not courteous or even sympathetic. One guy, Luke, was extremely rude and gave attitude when asked why I couldn't speak with a manager. If only their service reflected Iowa nice instead of being unnecessarily rude. read more
