Wasn't impressed with the learning and teachers. School would not refund deposit when my child needed to be removed due to health reasons.

Wonderful school! Nova Academy Lorton campus is truly a great preschool and daycare. The teachers,…read morethe directors and the staff are all wonderful and really care about the kids. My kids come home and impress me with what they learn during the day. They've even impressed their cousins knowing colors and words in Spanish. They have a good time with their friends, but most of all, they adore their teachers. The teachers make them feel safe and cared for and they learn a great deal under their care and instruction. The facility itself is bright, inviting, very clean and well maintained. Different playgrounds with lots of space and equipment. Communication is great via their online portal, emails, printed newsletters and of course, direct conversation. We had an opportunity for the kids to attend another preschool but we turned it down to stay at Nova Academy Lorton. During covid, we kept our kids home for almost 1.5 years before returning. I was very moved when my kids returned and on day 1 coming back, they received the most warm and loving welcome! All the teachers remembered them and practically came out of their classrooms to say hello and welcome them back! It feels like a family here. It's no wonder my kids love their teachers at Nova Academy Lorton! Wish I could give this place 10 stars. I truly love ALL the teachers and directors here and will be sad when my kids leave to start kindergarten. Thank you Lorton Campus for the incredible care and education you've provided to the kiddos!

Finding the right care for your baby is one of the hardest things to do as a new parent. When my…read morematernity leave ended and it was time to return to work, I was overwhelmed with the idea of leaving my daughter in someone else's hands. My daughter has been going to Shazia's daycare since she was just 8 months old, and I can say with complete confidence that it was one of the best decisions we've made as a family. From the very first visit, I remember feeling such a sense of calm in her space. The environment was peaceful, organized, and full of warmth. You could immediately tell this was a home filled with love and care. As a first-time mom, I knew I didn't want to send my daughter to a large, chaotic center. I wanted her in a nurturing home setting where she could feel safe and cherished, and that's exactly what Shazia has created. Shazia and her team are incredibly loving and attentive. They treat the children like family and go above and beyond to support each child's growth. She has been there for every single milestone and has played such an important role in my daughter's development. From helping her eat healthy, home-cooked meals to encouraging interactive play through music and dance classes, Shazia has truly helped my daughter thrive. One day I asked my daughter where her nose was and, to my surprise, she pointed right to it. Then she showed me where her eyes, mouth and head were too. I had no idea she even knew those things, but Shazia had been teaching her. It's moments like these that make me realize just how much she's learning and growing every day under Shazia's care. I am endlessly grateful for the love, patience, and attention Shazia has shown our daughter. I wish she could stay with her forever. Any parent would be lucky to have their child in Shazia's daycare. She has become such an important part of our lives and we are so thankful for her.

I remember dropping her off the first day, leaving in tears and receiving a text message shortly thereafter with a picture of my happy baby to reassure me that she was ok. In her 2 1/2 years being cared for by Shazia, she never cried on drop-off but occasionally did during pick-up because she wanted to stay -- this made our hearts happy. We never worried because we knew she was loved and cared for at her second home by her second mommas. We were blessed to find such an amazing place and will be forever grateful for all they taught our little one. Having to leave because kids grow and have to move on brings yet another storm of emotions, but we know our little one is prepared to take on the world's next challenge because of the knowledge, compassion and care provided during her time at Children's Zone. We are immensely grateful to have formed such a great bond with such a great group of people and recommend them to anyone needing a loving and nurturing environment for their babies/toddlers. The middle school failed my child this school year. There's a notorious group of students that…read moresystematically bully new kids or someone outside their circle and the worst part, these students are favored among teachers. Multiple complains to the principal resulted in NOTHING! Only a check mark talk with the offenders and the vicious cycle goes on. It's a disgrace that teachers only promote their favorites to win competitions like Science fair. The middle school drastically lacked any fun or engaging events, fundraisers or activities that encouraged team work and inclusion of parents. There was only one field trip throughout the year and no promised end of year concert that even public schools have. The end of year award ceremony was unfairly selective. Throughout the year we got Zero photos from any teacher showing a school day, so it feels like this year just fell out equation with no memories to look back to. There's no graduation ceremony for 5th graders either, which they truly deserve. Since the new owner took over, the school environment (especially in upped grades) is rapidly deteriorating. And it's not surprising, the owner lives outside the country and rarely shows up. My gut feeling was right when I checked the school website before we enrolled and it was generic. And that's how this year felt, generic! A generic website with no teacher names, stock photos of students, there's nothing there that shows actual student life or curriculum or shows any photos of the teachers. This place is about squeezing every dollar they can from paying parents, while failing on delivering the fair support and equal opportunities every student deserves.
